A Cunning Pervert in the Cultivation World - Chapter 259: Jian Ruyi (2)

Chapter 259: Chapter 259: Jian Ruyi (2)
Li Feng had already gained a rough understanding of Jian Ruyi’s personality from their brief exchange.
On the surface, she appeared cold and aloof, much like Yue Lan.
But the similarity ended there.
Yue Lan’s coldness always felt… natural.
Like she just didn’t care enough to pay attention to anything or anyone around her as though nothing around her was worth the effort of attention.
The world just slid right off her.
Jian Ruyi, however, was different.
Her coldness didn’t seem aimed at other people … it felt aimed at herself.
Strict and unforgiving.
Like she was constantly forcing herself to stay sharp, to never slip, to keep moving forward no matter what.
Watching her, Li Feng could not help but wonder…
What was driving this small woman so mercilessly forward?
Then his thoughts were interrupted as Jian Ruyi leaned up and sat straight.
With her dark, obsidian eyes, she stared at Ning Jianli and then at him before bowing deeply.
“Thank you. I know this life was saved by both of you, and I will never forget this favor.”
Her tone remained sharp and decisive as she gave a grateful, deep bow….. so deep that Li Feng could see that pair of small yet perfectly sized white jade peaks from her cleavage.
“If there is anything you need, tell me, and I will become your sword.”
Ning Jianli, who was usually somewhat serious herself, panicked a little upon receiving such a bow.
She knew what kind of background Jian Ruyi had, which made her feel even more undeserving of it.
Because Jian Ruyi and her family had contributed and sacrificed a lot for the greater good of the sect and its members.
“S-Senior Sister, this is nothing! It is the least I can do for you!”
Ning Jianli hurried to Jian Ruyi’s side and tried to help her up.
But Jian Ruyi was like a stone statue and did not budge.
Only when Li Feng gave a small sigh and spoke did she finally rise.
“Junior Sister Ning is right. We righteous disciples should help each other,” he said seriously and solemnly.
Then he continued with righteous fury, clenching his fist.
“…And I can never ignore something so cruel happening to a fellow sect disciple!”
“…”
Right now, Li Feng looked as though he were about to go on a demon hunt to avenge a righteous disciple he had barely met or spoken to.
Jian Ruyi stared at Li Feng for a long moment after hearing his declaration.
A hint of appreciation flashed in her deep black eyes, which still remained sharp and serious.
If she were a favor target, Li Feng would probably have already seen a notification about gaining some Favor Points.
Li Feng grinned inwardly as he could somewhat guess her thoughts.
He already had plenty of experience dealing with these cold fairies…. especially the righteous, cold type.
Those types seemed the most unapproachable and the hardest of them all.
But to him, it was actually the opposite.
Because this kind of cold and righteous fairy was often the simplest… and the most predictable.
“I am happy that we have fellow disciple…”
“Li Feng. That’s my name.”
Jian Ruyi nodded, committing that name to heart before continuing,
“It is truly great to have someone as righteous and admirable as you, Brother Li, on our side.”
Li Feng’s smile almost turned into a smug grin when he heard that.
But he forced himself to focus on the important matter as his gaze shifted to her fluttering sleeves….as both of her arms missing beneath them.
His expression turned slightly serious as he asked,
“Senior Sister Jian… about your arms…”
He seemed a bit hesitant to ask further, but Jian Ruyi glanced at her empty sleeves and answered calmly,
“This was the result of a demonic cultivator I encountered. And you can just call me Jian Ruyi, no need to be so formal.”
Then she looked at Li Feng and Ning Jianli.
“Did you encounter him when you found me?”
Ning Jianli shook her head.
“No, Senior Sister. I only found you lying next to a tree. There was no one else there.”
Jian Ruyi frowned slightly at that.
Seeing her deep in thought, Li Feng seemed to understand what she was wondering.
“Ah, Senior—… Jian Ruyi,” he corrected smoothly, “if you’re wondering why you’re still alive… I might have the answer to that.”
“Hm?”
Jian Ruyi looked at Li Feng with a questioning expression.
Li Feng then began explaining how a strand of sword intent had been lingering inside her body and how it had attacked him the moment he tried to remove it and heal her.
The more Jian Ruyi listened, the colder her face became.
Even without Li Feng saying it outright, she already understood why she had been left alive with that sword intent embedded inside her.
“…So that demon wanted to kill whoever found me. He truly mocks me…”
She gritted her teeth at the thought of another fellow disciple dying while trying to save her.
If that had really happened, even in death she would not have been at peace.
Then she looked at Li Feng.
“Brother Li… are you alright?”
She asked with faint concern, knowing how terrifying sword intent could be…. especially from that demonic cultivator.
Li Feng shook his head and flexed his muscles with a grin.
“I’m fine. I’m actually pretty tough.”
Jian Ruyi looked at his physique and nodded thoughtfully.
She already knew by instinct that Li Feng was strong.
But it seem he truly was not simple.
“That’s a relief…”
Watching Jian Ruyi concern for others than for herself, Li Feng couldn’t help but think that the Heavenly Sword Sect was truly full of strange fairies.
Then his gaze drifted to her empty sleeves again, and he lowered his voice.
“By the way… about your arms. I have a way to restore them.”
At his words,
For the first time, Jian Ruyi showed visible surprise.
“Are you a divine doctor?”
Her eyes scanned him up and down, clearly doubting it.
He did not look like one at all.
Li Feng smiled softly and shook his head.
“I’m not a doctor or anything. I just have a few methods up my sleeve, that’s all.”
At his words, Jian Ruyi studied him again in silence.
Seeing her gaze linger on him, Ning Jianli quickly interjected, thinking her senior sister might be doubting him.
“Yes, Senior Sister Jian! Senior Brother Li is truly capable. Even I was saved by him from a demonic cultivator.”
Suddenly, Jian Ruyi’s cold voice cut in.
“Mm? What do you mean?”
Her gaze sharpened like cold steel as she demanded an explanation.
Ning Jianli knew she wasn’t angry as this was simply how Jian Ruyi was.
So she explained everything in detail: how several Heavenly Sword Sect disciples had been captured and ambushed, how her brother had died, and how, if not for Li Feng arriving in time, they would have been turned into cauldrons….drained of their cultivation and lives.
The more Jian Ruyi listened, the heavier the air around her became.
Her killing intent slowly rose, sharp and suffocating.
And yet, for some reason…
Li Feng found her cold expression rather… attractive.
