Chapter 536: A Little Alchemic Push Today for a Brighter Aerial Supremacy Tomorrow
“Hmm. Seems like she’s not impressed with you at all.”
Aksai said as he slowly walked into the clearing.
The female eagle turned her head slightly at Aksai’s voice. Her sharp blue eyes looked at him with a mix of suspicion and pride.
She gave a short snort, lowered her raised leg just slightly, and turned her head away again—still clearly annoyed by the male’s presence.
The male looked down at his claws, then at Aksai, then back at the female.
Aksai chuckled and patted the male eagle’s side as he came closer.
“Well, it seems she doesn’t like me either,” he said aloud, more to himself than to anyone else. “Guess we need to do something about it.”
The male let out a soft cry and lowered his head as if in agreement.
The chained female eagle fluffed her feathers and turned her head with a huff. The Essence Rune at her leg glowed faintly. It wasn’t meant to restrain her permanently—just enough to keep her from flying off before she got used to the place.
After all, Aksai had a lot of Spirit resources in the Enchanted Everwood Farm. Although Yelia was there to look after everything that happened in the isolated space, he didn’t want to give the female Bluewind Eagle a chance to damage the carefully cultivated resources growing here.
Aksai looked at the two and sighed.
“I have a way to speed things up,” he said with a small smile. “After all, only by bringing you two together can I get my hands on a batch of flying beasts.”
He sat down nearby on a flat stone, resting his elbows on his knees and watching the two eagles from a distance.
In his mind, he was already going through plans—how to ease the tension between them, how to use calming Spirit herbs, shared hunting experiences, or even scent-based bonding methods mentioned by a beast-taming guide he had read once.
As Aksai sat watching the two Bluewind Eagles lost in his thoughts, an idea suddenly struck him.
“What if I just gave her a little push?” he muttered to himself with a small devilish grin. “A gentle nudge… something to make her more receptive.”
It was a wild thought, but it didn’t leave his mind.
Without wasting a second, Aksai connected to the Neural Link Fabric and sent a mental command. “Check the beast-taming manuals. Find me a safe aphrodisiac formula for female Bluewind Eagles.”
The Neural Link Fabric instantly accessed the databases Aksai had collected over the years. It pulled out several recipes from ancient beast-taming guides, then began modifying them. Aksai watched as the spectral interface displayed the changing formula in real-time.
The Fabric wasn’t just using beast-taming recipes. It also added methods from the Heretic Dao—techniques known for bending minds and emotions. Then it cross-referenced everything with the Bloodfiend manuals Aksai had recently uploaded and updated with the rest of its iterations. Slowly, it stitched together a custom-made recipe.
“I bet not even Haitin has this kind of alchemy pill,” Aksai said, his eyes lighting up as the final version of the recipe appeared on the spectral screen. “Perfect.”
He got up and turned around, walking quickly toward one of the largest structures on the farm—a tall, wide-roofed palace built out of a glowing Spirit platform. It was the place where he conducted most of his alchemy.
Inside the alchemy lab, a faint herbal scent permeated. Rows of Spirit plants and alchemical materials were arranged neatly on floating shelves. Aksai quickly gathered what he needed—leaves from the 2nd Order Dreamvine plant, powdered root of Firemoss, petals from the 3rd Order Lunar Bloom flower, and a bit of crystal dust taken from a Snowshade crystal.
With the ingredients in hand, he moved to his personal alchemy furnace. The Neural Link Fabric guided him, projecting a series of soft, glowing prompts in front of him.
At every step, the spectral screen reminded him about heating times, Spirit energy ratios, and potential reaction problems.
Hours passed as Aksai worked. A few failed attempts exploded inside the furnace, leaving behind dark smoke and a sour smell. He kept going, cleaning up and restarting every time. Sweat rolled down his forehead, but his eyes were sharp and steady.
Finally, just before the furnace cooled down completely, he succeeded.
A soft hiss came from the cauldron. A faint pink mist floated up. Aksai removed the lid carefully and looked inside.
Five small round pills lay at the bottom of the cauldron. They had a gentle pink shine and gave off a strange but sweet scent.
Aksai picked one up using Spirit essence, watching it float in front of him.
“There we go,” he said with a satisfied smile. “Let’s see if this helps those two get along. I’m sorry, lady bird. I’m in a bit of a hurry these days. I can’t wait for you to come to this decision on your own.”
He placed the pills in a small jade bottle, sealed it, and slipped it into his robe. He took one last look at the cooled cauldron, then walked out of the palace with quiet footsteps, ready to test his little trick on the stubborn eagle couple.
After a few minutes, Aksai was seen standing near the edge of the forest grove, far enough that the female Bluewind Eagle couldn’t see what he was doing. He quietly pulled out the jade bottle that held the five special pills.
He looked at the glowing pink pills for a moment before placing them into a small stone bowl. With careful hands, he crushed them into fine powder using a Spirit pestle.
“Alright, time to hide the flavor,” he whispered as he took out a small basket of Spirit fruits—juicy, colorful, and fragrant. He picked each fruit one by one and made a tiny cut in them. Then, using a thin Spirit needle, he injected the powder into the fruits.
Once done, he sealed the cuts with a touch of his wood-element Spirit spell, making them look untouched.
Satisfied, Aksai waved his hand and summoned one of his Sentient Puppets. The puppet, shaped like a tall elk man with Spirit lines glowing across its limbs, bowed to Aksai with a creaky movement.
“Take this basket and feed it to the lady bird over there,” Aksai said with a sly grin as he pointed at the chained Bluewind Eagle in the clearing.
The puppet tilted its head slightly, as if it didn’t want to get involved. But it obeyed nonetheless.
The puppet carried the basket with careful steps. As it neared the female Bluewind Eagle, she instantly sensed him. She snapped her head in his direction and let out a sharp screech, flapping her wings and lifting her unchained leg threateningly.
The puppet froze, raised the basket high, and placed it on the ground without making a sound. Then it turned around and rushed away quickly, almost stumbling in its haste.
Aksai, watching from the trees, chuckled.
“Even he knows she’s going to get mad one day,” he whispered to himself.
The female Bluewind Eagle stared at the basket for a moment. Then she looked at Aksai from a distance. Her sharp blue eyes narrowed. Aksai only gave her a bright, innocent smile, as if nothing was wrong.
She gave a loud snort and turned away. But hunger got the better of her. Slowly, cautiously, she stepped forward and began eating the Spirit fruits one by one.
As she started chewing the third fruit, Aksai felt a presence beside him. The male Bluewind Eagle had come up to him with slow steps. He growled low in his throat, then gave Aksai a sideways glare and a grumble-like cry, as if complaining about his still-single status.
Aksai raised his eyebrow and looked at him with fake disappointment.
“You’re completely useless,” Aksai said, his tone filled with drama. “You can’t even woo her when everything is going your way? I have already caged her. You are the only male Bluewind Eagle here. What else do you want from me, you dork bird?”
The male growled louder and spread his wings wide in protest. His feathers bristled as he let out a sharp eagle cry, flapping hard once.
“Oh, don’t give me that,” Aksai snorted. “Stop acting like it’s the end of the world. You think I had it easy back in my day?”
The eagle let out another frustrated cry, clearly still unhappy.
Aksai shook his head and pointed toward the female, who was still eating.
“I’ve already helped you more than I should have. That birdie is going to be a little… softer toward your presence for the next few hours.”
The male eagle tilted his head, his expression turning a little hopeful.
“You’ve got this small window,” Aksai said seriously. “Once she finishes her meal, I’ll release her from that Essence Rune chain.”
The male eagle stood straighter.
“And then,” Aksai added with a grin, “you two are going to duke it out. Fight with her with all you got. If you can win—without hurting her too much—she might accept you. And then boom. You’re a couple. Got it?”
The eagle nodded, letting out a calmer cry this time.
“Good,” Aksai said, folding his hands behind his back and stepping aside. “Now get ready. Go practice your best flying tricks or something. I want to see some action.”
In medieval Europe, beer was safer to drink than water.
Water sources were often contaminated, but beer was boiled during brewing, making it cleaner.
