A Farmer's Journey To Immortality - Chapter 546: Evolution of the Bluewind Eagles

Chapter 546: Evolution of the Bluewind Eagles
Aksai raised his hand and released a pulse of Spirit essence into the ground.
Lines of green and red light began spreading out from beneath his feet, forming a massive runic circle around the grazing area.
At the same time, Yelia began chanting a set of Mantras softly, weaving her wood-element Spirit spells into the formation to stabilize the surroundings.
The humanoid puppets moved without being told. One began placing special wooden Heretic Dao totems at the edges of the runic circle. Another carried small crystal bowls filled with Spirit herbs soaked in a strange, black liquid—Heretic Spirit essence extracted from failed talismans Aksai had previously experimented on.
The third puppet carried fully functional Heretic Dao talismans and inserted them into small slots in the ground, where they glowed faintly and merged with the formation. The fourth puppet stood near the center, monitoring the balance of Spirit energy and the Heretic flow patterns.
This formation was the fusion of wood-element formation that Aksai had acquired from the demonic druid as well as the Heretic Dao concepts layered over the traditional formation templates popularly used in Dadangar Subcontinent.
As the formation activated, the earth trembled lightly. The boars, sensing the shift, grew restless. Some backed away. Others snorted more loudly, pacing. But the moment Aksai sent a calming pulse of Spirit essence laced with familiarity, they settled.
The Red Horn Boars weren’t aggressive-type demon beasts under normal circumstances. However, some of them tended to become aggressive under the threat of territorial disputes.
Although Aksai had tamed these demon beasts for the most part, their beastly nature wasn’t completely suppressed.
The bubble-like barrier, similar to the ones created for the Spirit fish pond, rose around the boars. The air inside shimmered with streaks of red and green light, like fire and wood blending in slow motion.
Aksai closed his eyes and focused. He used the Heretic Dao’s law of distortion—altering an existing path of evolution by introducing an opposing force.
In this case, he balanced the aggressive nature of the Red Horn Boars with calming wood-element energy, while amplifying their natural fighting instincts with carefully measured pulses of Heretic energy.
Aksai had already modified the Spirit bloodlines of the demon beasts using his earlier experiments. This time, he was stimulating their Spirit bloodlines using the concepts of the Heretic Dao so that they can be transformed into vessel bloodlines as well, thus completing the evolution.
Yelia worked beside him, casting vine-growth spells that kept the formation’s energy circulating at a controlled pace. The puppets moved in precise, practiced steps—adjusting herbs, pouring more black liquid into the bowls, changing the angles of the totems.
For the next few hours, they worked in silence.
Then, it began.
The largest Red Horn Boar let out a deep bellow. Its crimson horn glowed faintly, then began to change—growing longer, splitting near the tip like a forked blade. Its hooves cracked the earth as it stomped, its breath steaming like smoke. The beast’s back grew broader, and sharp bone ridges appeared along its spine.
Another boar followed. Its tusks lengthened and curved upward like scythes, its eyes burning with a faint red glow. The Heretic essence had taken hold, seeping deeper into their vessel bloodlines.
“Two of them are already mutating,” Yelia said, her voice steady.
“And the others are not far behind,” Aksai said, smiling as he adjusted one of the Spirit totems with a wave of his hand.
By evening, nearly a dozen of the Red Horn Boars had shown signs of evolution. Their bodies had grown tougher. Their Spirit essence signatures were denser, darker, more potent. The mutations were stable as well.
Aksai wasn’t looking to completely revolutionize the beasts’ bloodlines at this point. He merely wanted to see the effects of the Heretic Dao when he used them in the field of bloodline evolution. So far, he was more than satisfied.
He wiped sweat from his brow and looked out at the field. “If we keep going like this, we’ll have a proper battle-ready herd in a few weeks.”
Yelia nodded. “But we need to monitor their mental state. Heretic energy changes more than just the body.”
“I know,” Aksai said. “We’ll take it slow.”
The formation was deactivated, and the light faded. The mutated boars returned to grazing, though their steps were heavier, more focused.
The Sentient puppets walked back toward the tree cluster, their task complete for the day.
For the next few weeks, Aksai continued his journey toward the Emerald Cove at a leisurely pace, taking plenty of detours along the way. Whenever he had the chance, he would return to the Enchanted Everwood Farm and resume his experiments.
Over time, he successfully managed to transform almost all of the demon beasts he was raising at the farm. From Spirit fish to pasture-dwelling beasts, he had completely altered their nature and physical features to suit his needs.
Only a pair of flying demon beasts remained—his final transformation target.

A few days later.
Aksai had mastered the concepts of transforming the bloodlines using the Heretic Dao methods.
The Neural Link Fabric had also improved a lot after collecting the data from various experiments.
As such, he decided to truly transform the demon beasts and make them more ferocious without holding back.
He had a clear target for this type of experiment.
Aksai walked quietly toward the high ridge at the edge of the Enchanted Everwood Farm, where the Bluewind Eagles were kept. The air around that section felt wild, sharp with wind essence.
It was their home now—a tall rocky outcrop reinforced with Spirit stone towers and wind-element runes, open to the twilight sky and surrounded by a boundary array.
The two Bluewind Eagles were there. The male stood tall on the highest point of the ridge, his feathers shimmering with deep blue streaks under the sun.
The female rested nearby, her eyes half-closed. But when she noticed Aksai approaching, she let out a soft cry. The male instantly responded, spreading his wings wide and flying down with a powerful gust of wind.
Aksai stopped a few steps away, hands behind his back.
“Well, looks like you two are finally getting along,” he said with a grin. “My plan worked after all.”
The male Bluewind Eagle landed between Aksai and the female. His sharp gaze locked onto Aksai as he flapped his wings once, aggressively. Aksai raised an eyebrow but didn’t move.
It seemed that the Bluewind Eagle had taken note of all of Aksai’s actions on the farm. The beast correctly guessed that Aksai wanted to use the only two Bluewind Eagles he had on his farm as guinea pigs as well.
“You’re protective. That’s good,” he said, reaching into his robe and pulling out a fist-sized talisman. The talisman shimmered with pulsing red and green runes—Heretic Dao symbols meant to interact with bloodline essence.
As Aksai activated the talisman, the wind around the area shifted. The male Bluewind Eagle let out a loud, piercing scream and launched toward Aksai with clear hostility.
Aksai didn’t flinch.
Before the eagle could reach him, Aksai’s eyes narrowed. A soft glow appeared around his body as he activated the demon beast contract.
A strange force surged through the air and gripped the eagle mid-flight. Its wings stiffened. It screeched again, this time in protest more than attack. The glow from Aksai’s hand shot out and touched the eagle’s forehead. The male Bluewind Eagle crashed to the ground, panting heavily, its body trembling.
“Calm down,” Aksai said, voice firm but not cruel.
“Do you think I will let two powerful demon beasts roam around my farm without having a way to control them? How low do you think of your master?
Hehe. relax. I’m not trying to harm you. Well… you’ll feel a bit of pain. But you won’t die.”
He crouched beside the eagle and placed the talisman onto its chest. The runes started to glow brighter, slowly spreading like veins through the eagle’s feathers. The beast writhed for a moment, letting out a low growl. But the contract made sure it didn’t move too much.
Meanwhile, the female Bluewind Eagle stepped closer. She didn’t attack. Instead, she looked at Aksai, then at her mate, and gave a small, soft cry. Somehow, it helped calm the male down.
Aksai smiled at the moment.
“See? She understands. You will too.”
Aksai had to say that the female eagle was more mature than male eagle when it came to understanding the situation. At first, she had behaved like she was the queen of the farm. However, after getting domiciled by Aksai’s schemes, she understood her place in the hierarchy better than the male Bluewind Eagle.
Aksai didn’t pay much attention to the female eagle after nodding at her once. He began murmuring a chant under his breath, guiding the Heretic Dao runes deeper into the eagle’s bloodstream. The air shimmered faintly as the wind essence surrounding the pair became richer. The transformation had begun.
The male Bluewind Eagle stopped struggling after a while. Its breathing slowed. Aksai stood up and took a step back. He looked at the talisman that had started fading now that its work was done.
“Good,” he said quietly. “Now let’s see what the new bloodline brings.”
