Chapter 547: Using the Little Green Snake’s Special Bloodline for Evolution
The arrangements were finished shortly after Aksai tamed the flying demon beasts once again.
The male and female Bluewind Eagles stood in the center of a formation circle Aksai had carefully carved with a mix of earth and wind-element runes, laced with the dark crimson symbols of the Heretic Dao. He stood tall, calm, as he raised his hands and activated the Spirit spell.
At once, the formation lit up.
The two eagles let out loud, painful screams. Their bodies trembled as runes began to crawl up their feathers like burning brands. Their wings shook violently. Bloody wounds tore open across their bodies—small at first, then deeper and longer. Feathers fell, red stained their brilliant blue coats.
Aksai’s face remained calm, though a flicker of concern passed through his eyes. He reached into his storage ring and pulled out two glass vials filled with a bright green liquid. He uncorked them with a flick of his finger and levitated them toward the screaming beasts.
“This should help you with the pain,” he said softly.
Aksai’s alchemy expertise hadn’t improved at all, as his Spirit Farming Points had been completely exhausted before he could raise it. As a result, his alchemy concoctions still couldn’t provide the demon beasts with the desired relief after stabilizing their condition.
However, Aksai had Grandmaster-level expertise in two Spirit Cultivation Arts and high-level expertise in another. So whatever he lacked in alchemy, he made up for through other arts.
Thankfully, the Heretic Dao methods were highly flexible. He had many ways to cover his shortcomings using his high-level knowledge in other fields. That’s exactly what he had done for this crucial bloodline experiment as well.
The vials glowed as their contents floated out in threads of light. The luminous liquid wrapped around the eagles’ open wounds and soaked into their skin. The beasts’ screeches softened into strained groans. Their heavy breathing slowed, and the trembling in their wings eased as the soothing medicine dulled their pain and began to mend their wounds.
But the experiment wasn’t over.
Aksai took out two more vials, this time filled with a silver-and-red swirling liquid. His eyes narrowed as he raised them into the air.
“And this sweet medicine,” he muttered, “should help you raise your chances of acquiring the evolved bloodline at a faster rate.”
The second potion began flowing out of the vials like mist and entered the eagles’ bodies through their wounds, their beaks, and even their eyes. This time, the liquid even entered their mouths.
The two birds let out low, muffled cries. Even with dulled pain and boosted healing, their bodies were clearly under massive stress.
Behind him, Yelia stood silently, watching. But something caught her attention.
Her eyes narrowed as she looked closely at the female Bluewind Eagle. Without a word, she stepped forward. Aksai raised an eyebrow but said nothing, trusting her instincts.
Yelia approached the female eagle gently and placed her palm over the beast’s head. Her expression calmed, and she closed her eyes. Her Soul Sense slowly spread through the eagle’s body.
A moment passed. Then her eyes flew open in surprise.
She turned to Aksai, blinking. Her voice was soft, but serious.
“My liege,” she said, “the female Bluewind Eagle… she’s pregnant.”
She hesitated, then added, “I think we should keep her away from the bloodline experiment. At least until she gives birth.”
Aksai’s eyes widened slightly. He hadn’t expected that. He knew the Bluewind Eagles weren’t known for quick reproduction. A pregnancy, especially this soon, was rare.
“Pregnant already?” he muttered, almost to himself.
But then his expression shifted. Surprise gave way to excitement. A wide grin formed on his face as he rubbed his hands together.
“Stop?” he said, chuckling. “Are you kidding? That’s even better.”
He turned to Yelia, eyes gleaming.
“If the parents mutate and evolve their bloodlines, their children will be born with the new bloodline already refined. It’ll be the strongest generation of Bluewind Eagles ever raised in the Dadangar subcontinent. Though I’m not sure if they should still be called Bluewind Eagles after that.”
Yelia frowned but said nothing. She trusted Aksai—but she still felt a bit of worry. He saw it on her face and softened his tone.
“Don’t worry,” he said.
“I want to continue with the bloodline experiment, but I’m not a monster.”
Aksai and Yelia had a mini-staredown when the former said those words. Nobody said a word for a little while.
After a few seconds of awkward silence, Aksai smiled mirthlessly and scratched the back of his head before commenting further.
“Well… I’m not a complete monster. Anyway… the male and female Bluewind Eagles will not only survive this… they’ll thrive. I assure you of their safety. And their children? They’ll be stronger than anything in the recorded history of their race.
Let’s just say that I’m doing this for the betterment of the Bluewind Eagle race.”
He gave her a brief smile, then closed his eyes again.
The air began to pulse as Aksai linked his Spirit and Soul Senses to the Heretic Dao totems. The array beneath the birds adjusted—runic circuits bending gently under his control to regulate the intensity.
The glowing totems shone brighter, and the wind around them calmed slightly, no longer wild, but focused. Aksai’s face turned serious once again.
‘Once he sets his mind to do something, he won’t listen to anyone.’
Yelia sighed as she stood quietly behind Aksai, her eyes drifting toward the far corner of the Enchanted Everwood Farm. There, nestled in a secluded space surrounded by thick wood-element barriers and soft glowing trees, was a wide open area made just for one little creature.
The little green snake—Aksai’s newest demon beast pet—was gliding through the calm waters of a small, clear pond. Her slender body rippled like a ribbon as she swam in circles, her scales catching the light and gleaming with a soft emerald glow.
Small Spirit mice scurried along the edge of the nearby playing ground, but none dared come too close while the snake was in the water. She had hunted them more than once.
Yelia smiled faintly at the sight. The green snake looked peaceful, but there was something strange and noble about her presence. Her movements were graceful, yet filled with unexplainable strength.
Suddenly, Yelia’s smile faded. Her eyes lit up with a sharp gleam—an idea had struck her like a bolt of lightning.
‘If I can’t stop this bloodline experiment, I might as well raise the chances of the female Bluewind Eagle acquiring a powerful bloodline while ensuring her safety. That way, my liege would be happy and he won’t come to bother this couple again.’
She turned her gaze back to Aksai, who was still standing in front of the Bluewind Eagles, eyes closed, hands raised, controlling the formation with fine intent and Soul Sense.
“My liege,” Yelia said softly, careful not to disturb the balance of the array, “since you are already evolving the bloodlines of the Bluewind Eagles… why not take this a step further?”
Aksai raised an eyebrow, his hands still steady in mid-air. “Explain,” he said calmly, not looking away from the formation.
Yelia took a step closer, her voice clear. “That little green snake of yours… the one from the Holy Land Torel. She carries a special bloodline, doesn’t she? Something rare, something not yet awakened but still full of potential.”
Aksai opened his eyes at that. He looked toward the pond, where the green snake was now coiled around a rock near the edge, sunning herself. His expression shifted as he considered Yelia’s words.
“Go on,” he said, intrigued.
“What if,” Yelia continued, “we use a tiny bit of her bloodline to influence the Bluewind Eagles’ evolution? Not enough to harm her. Just enough to guide the change. It could give their bloodline a new direction… something more balanced, powerful, and stable. It could even help their future offspring develop faster and stronger.”
Aksai looked at the Bluewind Eagles, then back at the snake. He slowly lowered his hands, the formation still humming softly around the birds.
He rubbed his chin and smiled. “Interesting. Very interesting. You’re saying we let the little green snake’s bloodline guide the transformation? Let her be the blueprint for a more refined bloodline?”
Yelia nodded. “Yes. Her bloodline is still incomplete, but even in that form, it’s far more advanced than most demon beasts. If the Bluewind Eagles absorb a trace of it, it could help them stabilize their own mutation.”
Aksai chuckled. “You surprise me sometimes, Yelia. And here I thought I was the cruel one on this farm.”
He turned his eyes to the green snake again, watching her coil lazily in the fake sunlight that was raised right above her playground with the help of a Sun Essence Stone.
“You might just be onto something.”
He took a deep breath, stepped away from the Bluewind Eagles for a moment, and looked toward the little snake with a sharp glint in his eyes.
“Alright, then,” he said. “Let’s see what kind of magic a little snake can add to the sky kings of the farm.”
