Chapter 736: Effective Use of the Epic-grade Druidic Blessing
Aksai approached the sealing-type Spirit formation and observed it in silence.
The formation covered the stone wall like a glowing web.
Lines of green and black light crossed each other, forming complex Essence Equation paths.
Poison mist leaked out from the gaps, carrying a sharp and bitter smell. Hidden within the formation were many lethal traps. One wrong move would trigger poison floods, soul attacks, or instant sealing.
Aksai did not rush.
His eyes moved slowly as his Spirit Sense spread across the formation.
Inside his mind, Nuri was already active.
Streams of information flowed rapidly. Rune patterns, energy cycles, trigger points, and safety locks were compared against the newly updated database. This database contained the full knowledge Aksai had recorded from the outer sect of the Heavenly Poison Sect.
Within seconds, the formation no longer looked mysterious.
“It’s an outer sect seal,” Aksai muttered. “Strict, but not made to stop someone who knows the rules.”
Nuri highlighted several runes in his vision. These were control nodes, not attack nodes. They regulated Spirit poison flow and trap timing. Destroying them directly would trigger a backlash. But bypassing them would shut the entire formation down.
Aksai raised his hand.
He sent a thin thread of Spirit essence into the first node, adjusting its flow instead of breaking it. The rune flickered but remained stable.
Then the second.
Then the third.
Each movement was careful and precise. His intent guided the Spirit essence, allowing it to slide through the rune paths without causing alarm. It was like following a map that only he could see.
There was no existing Lord within the Dadangar Subcontinent who could do what Aksai was doing at this point. In fact, one could say that there was no Nascent Soul King or even the Deity Transformation God who could decipher such a complex sealing-type formation within limited time with such an ease.
The Deity Transformation Gods could destroy such formations with their mere thoughts alone. However, breaking the formation was an entirely different matter.
The formation trembled slightly. Green light dimmed. The poison mist slowed.
Hidden traps activated for a brief moment, then failed to lock onto any target. Their trigger sequence had already been altered.
Aksai continued.
He rotated one rune backward, fed Spirit essence into another, and gently cut off the energy supply to a third. The runes began losing their rhythm. The formation’s core struggled to maintain balance.
Crack.
A soft sound echoed through the chamber.
Lines of light snapped one after another, fading into nothing. The poison mist was pulled back into the stone walls as if being swallowed.
Within minutes, the sealing-type Spirit formation collapsed completely.
No explosion followed. No poison flood erupted. The traps never triggered.
The wall in front of Aksai returned to its natural stone color, silent and harmless. Aksai lowered his hand and exhaled slowly.
“So much trouble for an outer sect seal,” he said calmly.
Aksai didn’t waste time in marvelling the feat he had just acheived. He stepped past the broken seal and came to a wide stone hall.
At the center of the hall stood the poison skeleton summoning formation. It was carved into the floor like a giant circle. Thick green light flowed through its rune lines, and poison mist kept rising from it in waves.
Every few breaths, new poison skeletons crawled out of the formation, their bones clicking as they joined the battle outside. These newly summoned skeletons were then teleported outside the formation right away.
After discussing a few things with Nuri, Aksai made a decision. He then took a deep breath.
Inside his body, the Dantian of the Aether Beast Verdant Elder stirred. A warm and violent energy flowed into his meridians. At the same time, the fire-element Innate Ability Cube activated on its own. The flow of Spirit essence became smooth and controlled, as if the spell had been waiting to be cast.
A faint red glow appeared around Aksai.
Behind him, a shadow shaped like a long fire serpent flickered for a moment. It was the Agni Serpent Spirit blessing. Its presence made the air heat up quickly, and the stone floor began to crack under the rising temperature.
Aksai opened his mouth. The fire serpent behind him mimicked his movements.
A stream of blazing fire burst out.
The Fire Breath Spirit Spell rushed forward like a raging dragon. It was thick, bright, and filled with pure destruction. The fire slammed into the summoning formation and spread across the rune lines instantly.
Green light met bright red flames.
The poison mist screamed as it burned away. The rune lines shattered one after another, unable to endure the heat. The fire did not weaken. Instead, it grew stronger as the Agni Serpent Spirit pushed its power even higher.
The stone floor melted.
The summoning formation tried to resist, forcing more poison energy into its core. But the fire swallowed everything before it could stabilize.
Within minutes, the entire formation collapsed.
The rune circle cracked apart, and the light went out completely. The poison mist vanished, and the flow of skeletons stopped at once. The last few poison skeletons outside lost their support and fell apart into piles of broken bones.
Silence returned to the cave.
Grisham dropped to one knee, breathing heavily. His chest rose and fell as he struggled to stay upright. Heilam leaned against his weapon, his hands shaking from exhaustion.
The sect master of the Iron Mountain Sect looked toward Aksai with mixed feelings.
Relief. Shock. And fear.
“That formation…” Heilam muttered. “It would have taken several Lords working together. Wasn’t Lord Aksai a newly ascended Core Formation realm Spirit cultivator? How… how could he make use of such destructive 3rd Order Spells?”
Aksai closed his mouth and let the remaining fire fade away. The red glow around him disappeared as if nothing had happened.
“Even though I have a tag of being a newbie Lord, it doesn’t mean I should act like one,” he said calmly.
Aksai then was about to turn around and speak when a strange sound echoed behind him.
Crack.
He stopped and looked back.
The summoning formation that had already been destroyed began to glow again. Thin lines of light crept across the broken stone, but this time they were not green.
They shimmered with a dull silver color. The rune patterns twisted and rearranged themselves, forming a design that was completely different from before.
The air trembled.
Space itself seemed to bend as a narrow tear appeared above the formation. The tear widened slowly, like a wound being forced open. A weak but strange pull came from it, making loose stones slide across the floor.
Aksai narrowed his eyes.
“A spatial formation,” he said softly.
The rift was unstable. Its edges shook, and distorted light flickered inside. Even so, Aksai could feel what lay beyond it. The space on the other side was far larger than the cave itself.
“The inner sect,” he muttered. “So that’s where you’ve been hiding.”
Before he could take a single step forward, the space in front of him rippled again.
A small stone platform appeared out of thin air. It floated at chest height and stopped right in front of Aksai. At the center of the platform was a shallow slot, shaped like it was meant to hold a flat object.
Aksai stared at it for a moment.
“A token,” he muttered to himself. “An inner sect disciple token.”
He clicked his tongue in annoyance.
“So that’s how it works.”
He closed his eyes and sent his Spirit Sense into his storage ring. Inside, piles of items floated in neat groups. Spirit stones, broken artifacts, poison jars, old jade slips, and many strange tools from the outer sect treasury passed through his perception.
He checked them one by one.
Nothing.
No token.
He searched again, slower this time, making sure he did not miss anything hidden or sealed. Still, there was no sign of an inner sect token.
Aksai opened his eyes and looked at the unstable rift.
“Tch,” he muttered. “I should have searched those spaces more carefully.”
Behind him, Grisham and Heilam also sensed the change. They struggled to their feet and stared at the glowing rift with tense faces.
Aksai rubbed his forehead lightly.
“Damn it,” he said under his breath. “Now where do I find this token?”
He was about to try breaking the Essence Equation runes that were guarding the platfom but suddenly felt a sharp sting in his mind.
In the next moment, his senses screamed a warning.
He turned his head just in time to see the small stone platform flicker. The slot on it flashed with light again and again, as if urging someone to act. Then, without any sound, the platform faded and vanished.
Aksai’s heart sank.
Before he could react, the broken spatial formation shuddered. The silver light twisted and rose into the air, gathering into a huge shape above the formation.
A face appeared.
It was his face.
