A Farmer's Journey To Immortality - Chapter 744: Poison Wraiths and Poison Lich

Chapter 744: Poison Wraiths and Poison Lich
Sweat rolled down Aksai’s face, but his eyes remained calm.
After finishing the solid resources, he took out small jade bottles from his storage ring. These were concentrated poison vials he had kept as alchemy materials.
He uncorked one and drank it without hesitation.
The poison inside was fierce. Even a late-stage Foundation Establishment expert would die in seconds. Since he didn’t have 3rd Order poison in his storage ring, he covered for quality with quantity.
Aksai’s body trembled as various types of poison entered his system.
His muscles tightened, and his veins darkened for a brief moment. His Aurous Body cultivation stirred as well. Golden light flashed beneath his skin as his flesh resisted the poison on a deeper level.
Crack.
A faint sound echoed inside his body.
Aksai felt a small but clear improvement in his Aurous Body realm. His bones felt heavier, and his skin tougher, yet more flexible. His Aurous Qi had been refined to a higher level as well. It was more potent than before. And this was only his first time making use of his newfound poison abilities.
He continued. The Spirit farmer believed in the saying: strike iron while it’s hot.
One vial after another was consumed. Each time, the pain lessened. Each time, the refinement became smoother.
Hours passed.
When Aksai finally stopped, the ground around him was empty. Not a single poison resource remained.
He closed his eyes and checked his body carefully.
The poison essence flowed smoothly through his Poison Vein. His heart beat in a steady rhythm, calm and firm. His nature energy felt richer than before, not weakened in the slightest.
Aksai opened his eyes and smiled.
“Looks like that’s the limit for now,” he said softly. He felt that he could not refine his Spirit essence or Aurous Qi anymore. He needed time before the poison could aid him in cultivation again with sufficient efficiency.
He knew it clearly at this point. No poison of the 3rd Order or below could harm him anymore. In fact, he needed to find as many 3rd Order poisons he could find in order to see even greater improvements than before.
After wrapping up with his tasks in the cave and getting plenty of rest, Aksai moved deeper into the separate dimension of the Heavenly Poison Sect with Zyn beneath him.
The poison wyvern spread its wide wings and glided low over the land. Its scales reflected the dim green light coming from the glowing mountains and poisonous plants below. Aksai sat firmly on its back, one hand gripping a ridge of hardened scales while the other stayed relaxed at his side.
Riding Zyn felt natural.
The wyvern moved in the air with superior strength than Aksai’s draconic Bluewind Eagles, ignoring the poison mist that drifted through the air. Wherever Zyn flew, smaller poison beasts scattered in fear. Those that did not move fast enough were crushed under its claws or torn apart by its jaws.
When stronger poison demon beasts appeared, Aksai pointed ahead. Zyn roared and dove.
Swoosh. Zoom. Kill.
Its poison breath swept over the ground like a thick green fog. Trees melted, rocks cracked, and the poison beasts screamed as their bodies dissolved. Those that survived the first wave were smashed by Zyn’s tail or pinned down by its heavy claws.
Aksai joined the fight when needed.
He used his druidic powers to shape the land. Roots burst from the ground and wrapped around enemies. Poison vines rose and pierced through thick hides. His Druid’s Poison Heart worked silently, letting him move freely in the poisonous environment without worry.
Aksai was beginning to think that he had mostly seen all that the separate dimension had to offer. He was about to move deeper into the territory to finally try accessing the inner sect facilities that he had located a few days ago. But before he could do so, the separate dimension surprised him once again.
Soon, they encountered something different.
Dark figures floated above the ground, half clear and half solid. Their bodies looked like smoke shaped into twisted human forms. Green flames burned where their eyes should have been.
Poison wraiths.
They let out sharp cries and rushed toward Zyn.
Zyn roared and struck them with its claws, but the claws passed through their bodies. The wraiths did not bleed. Instead, poison energy burst out and rushed toward Aksai.
Aksai frowned.
“Hmmm. These are not like the undead. They are not slow like them. And they are very good with their Spirit spell casting,” he said quietly.
He raised his hand and summoned his woodland creatures from the Enchanted Everwood Farm.
Woodland bears and woodland boars charged forward, their bodies covered in natural armor. Expendable woodland fiends followed behind them. These fiends did not hesitate. They ran straight into the poison wraiths and exploded, filling the air with dense nature energy.
The wraiths screamed as their forms weakened.
Zyn took the chance and released a focused poison breath mixed with raw force. The wraiths twisted and broke apart under the pressure.
Aksai moved as well.
He channeled his druidic powers and called forth thick wooden spears infused with poison essence. He threw them into the weakened wraiths, pinning their cores in place. One by one, the poison wraiths collapsed and faded into smoke.
When the battle ended, the land fell silent again.
Aksai looked around from Zyn’s back.
“This place really is a world of its own,” he murmured.
He patted Zyn’s neck lightly.
“Let’s keep going.”
Zyn let out a low growl and lifted off once more, carrying Aksai deeper into the dangerous and hidden world of the Heavenly Poison Sect.
A few days later, Aksai finally met something that felt truly different.
The atmosphere around him turned cold and heavy. The glowing plants nearby dimmed, as if afraid. From the broken ground ahead, a tall figure rose slowly. Its body was thin and dry, wrapped in torn robes. Green poison fire burned inside its hollow eyes.
A poison lich.
It held a crooked staff made of bone and crystal. Poison runes moved across the staff like living insects. The lich did not rush forward. Instead, it raised its staff and spread poison death energy in waves.
Aksai felt pressure press down on his body.
“This one is smarter,” he said calmly.
He jumped down from Zyn’s back and raised both hands.
Instead of using poison, Aksai called upon pure nature energy.
The ground shook. Thick roots burst out and wrapped around the lich’s legs. Green light spread through the roots, clashing with the poison death energy. The lich screeched and tried to pull free, but the roots only grew thicker.
Aksai stepped forward and activated his true druidic powers.
Life energy surged from his body like a tide.
Flowers of Bitter Emotions bloomed in the poisoned land as they worked especially well against someone with loads of bitter emotions. Trees pushed up from the soil. The death energy around the lich was slowly pushed back by the overwhelming force of life.
The lich raised its staff and released a wave of poison flames.
Aksai waved his hand.
A living wooden wall rose in front of him and absorbed the flames. The wall blackened but did not fall apart. Fresh vines grew over it and restored it in seconds.
The lich screamed in rage.
Before it could escape, Zyn flew down from above and slammed its claws into the ground behind the lich, cutting off its retreat. Poison breath filled the air, sealing the area.
Aksai moved quickly.
He used nature chains formed from vines and roots to bind the poison lich completely. The lich struggled, but its power was slowly drained by the life energy wrapped around it.
Soon, it could no longer resist.
Not far away, a few poison wraiths tried to flee.
Aksai did not let them.
Woodland fiends rushed forward and exploded near them, weakening their forms. Aksai then sealed the wraiths using living wood cages infused with nature energy.
When everything was over, Aksai looked at the captured creatures.
“Good,” he said quietly. “You’ll be useful.”
He chose a hidden spot and shaped the earth using druidic magic. An underground cave formed smoothly, its walls covered in glowing roots and vines. Nature energy flowed freely inside, completely under Aksai’s control.
The poison lich and poison wraiths were dragged inside and sealed in separate areas.
“Nuri,” Aksai said, sitting down. “Assist me.”
[Understood, Master. All observation and analysis systems are active.]
Aksai began his experiments.
He used nature energy to press against the poison lich’s body and soul. Whenever it resisted, vines tightened and life energy flooded into it, causing its poison death energy to react violently.
The lich screamed again and again.
The poison wraiths were treated the same way. Aksai forced nature energy through their forms and watched how they reacted.
