Chapter 750: End of Purple Poison Marshand & Purple Poison Sect?
The Heavenly Poison Pyramid shook.
Runes flared along its walls and stairs.
Aksai suddenly felt something tug at his soul. The woman turned her head slightly toward him.
“Do not resist,” she said. “Open your soul.”
’Well… fuc*ck. The woodland clone is absolutely useless in this case.’
Aksai wanted to avoid exposing his soul. But he couldn’t say no to getting the ownership of the Heavenly Poison Pyramid. Something about it told him that it would be extremely useful to him in the future.
This artifact was probably in the same league with Aksai’s Enchanted Everwood Farm. Plus, it seemed to have room for growth. Also, it was associated with the Heretic Dao even though Aksai was still unable to understand the true extent of its connection with it.
As such, Aksai did not refuse the offer. He gritted his teeth and did as he was told. The pull on his soul became stronger as soon as he complied. The pyramid answered.
A deep connection formed, heavy and cold, yet stable. Aksai felt the structure imprint itself onto his soul, layer by layer. He could sense its shape, its depth, its hunger, and its limits.
Then it settled. The shaking stopped. The woman exhaled slowly. She looked weaker now. Her soul form flickered, becoming thin and pale.
She stepped back and looked at Aksai.
“I have done my part,” she said quietly. “The rest… you must help me.”
She pointed toward the formation.
“Use the Heavenly Poison Pyramid,” she said. “Help me finish her bloodline refinement.”
Serya floated at the center with her eyes closed, just as Aksai had told her to do. It was clear to Seryalyth that her daughter trusted Aksai more than her, but she did not mind.
Aksai’s woodland clone was swallowed by the pressure. He could feel the pyramid responding to his will.
The Spirit farmer steadied his breathing and followed Seralyth’s directions through his woodland clone step by step. He stood beside the Spirit formation and placed his hand on the Heavenly Poison Pyramid’s control rune. The moment he focused his will, the pyramid responded.
Poison light flowed down like mist and gathered around Serya.
At first, nothing seemed to change. Serya floated quietly with her eyes closed, her small face calm and trusting. Aksai could sense her bloodline clearly now. Most of it came from her father, filled with strong draconic power. It was proud, warm, and heavy.
Then something else stirred.
Deep within that bloodline, a different origin began to wake up.
Poison.
It had always been there, sleeping and weak. But with Seralyth’s presence and the Heavenly Poison Pyramid acting as a bridge, that poison origin slowly spread. It did not fight the draconic bloodline. Instead, it mixed with it, wrapping around it like vines around a strong tree.
Serya frowned slightly.
Green light and purple mist swirled around her body. Her emerald green hair darkened, slowly turning into a soft olive green. The same change happened to her eyes.
When she opened them for a brief moment, Aksai saw purple tomoe forming inside her pupils, rotating slowly. They made her look calm, deep, and strangely old for her age.
Her body began to change next.
Her small frame grew little by little. Bones stretched. Muscles formed. In just a short time, she no longer looked like a three-year-old child. She now looked closer to a ten-year-old in mortal terms. The growth was smooth, not painful.
A faint hiss echoed.
A tail appeared behind her, covered in soft green scales. It swayed once before pulling back into her body and vanishing as she held her humanoid form. Her fangs also showed for a moment, sharp and clear, before fading as her lips closed.
Aksai’s eyes widened as soon as he sensed her cultivation using his Spirit Sense. Her cultivation base surged.
The early-stage Core Formation realm shattered like thin glass. Concentrated clouds of Spirit essence rushed in again and again, pushing her higher. Mid-stage. Late-stage. It did not slow until it reached the eighth level of the Core Formation realm.
Only then did it stop.
Serya’s body trembled slightly.
Seralyth’s voice sounded weak but firm. “Stop. Any more, and her body will break.”
Aksai did not hesitate. He pulled back his will and closed the formation. The poison light withdrew, returning to the Heavenly Poison Pyramid.
Serya’s breathing steadied. She floated there quietly.
Seralyth turned toward her corpse.
The massive serpent body began to shrink. Purple blood dried up, turning into fine mist that flowed into the pyramid. Her flesh lost its glow, becoming thin and dry, as if time had finally caught up to it. The life essence she had kept for so long was now being stored away.
Seralyth sighed softly.
“It is enough for now. Her cultivation base will grow even more in a few years as the bloodline energy within her rises,” she said. “She has what she needs. I hope you help her refine her bloodline once again in the future, after the bloodline energy settles.”
Seralyth then looked at Aksai with sharp eyes, as if she wanted to see through every thought in his mind. The weak light around her soul flickered as she spoke.
“Little druid,” she said calmly, “would you like to add a poison origin to your druidic bloodline?”
Aksai froze for a moment.
She continued before he could speak. “It seems you already carry a druidic blessing. It is linked to poison and life both. Because of that, the process will be smooth. There will be no clash. No harm.”
Aksai did not answer right away. He stood there in silence, his woodland clone staring at the dried serpent corpse and the fading woman beside it.
He thought about the gains. Stronger control over poison. Better understanding of life and death. More paths open to him as a druid.
Then he thought about the risks. Another bond. Another karma tied to a powerful being. Another step deeper into a path that was already hated by many.
He exhaled slowly. In the end, he nodded. As the follower of the Heretic Dao, Aksai had different views compared to the rest of the cultivators. A power was just that– a power. It had no righteous or demonic aspects attached to it. It was the wielder themselves who gave it those aspects with their actions and behavior.
Even if he gained poison attributes, it didn’t mean that he would have to massacre an entire city population to grow his powers. With his druidic powers and Nuri, he could find alternate ways that would be more suited to his own path.
Seralyth smiled faintly.
“There is only one thing I ask in return,” she said before her face and voice turning grim. “When you are strong enough, kill the Mad Immortal. Avenge me. Avenge my sect.”
Aksai nodded again. “That was already part of my oath to Holy Land Torel,” he said. “I will do it when I am capable.”
Seralyth closed her eyes for a brief moment, as if relieved.
“Good,” she said softly. “Then listen carefully. I do not have much time left.”
She opened her eyes and looked around the top floor of the pyramid.
“When I die completely, my soul will scatter,” she said. “Once you store the Heavenly Poison Pyramid into your Soul Space, the Spirit formation I set up will break as well.”
She raised her hand and pointed at the glowing lines on the floor.
“When that happens, all the dao paths tied to nature, elements, and other aspects will be released back into the world,” she said. “What I did was selfish. I kept myself half-alive, half-dead. I tried to revive myself.”
Her voice trembled slightly.
“As a dao beast, my state was like a parasite,” she continued. “I kept pulling dao hidden within the Spirit essence from the Dadangar Subcontinent. That is why breaking into the Core Formation realm became so hard. That is why only a few Lords could appear in each era.”
Aksai raised his eyebrows when he finally understood the reason behind why the subcontinent produced so few Lords even though there were many talented cultivators in each generation.
He was also relieved to know that his decision to trigger the breakthrough event for the Core Formation realm in Martial World Sharang was indeed the right one. That decision had not only made it easier and safer for Aksai to become a Lord it had also helped Serya to avoid a lot of dao-related pitfalls that would have come her way because of her connection to Seralyth for her selfish actions.
“When the pyramid is gone, this will end,” Seralyth said. “Cultivators will face the third realm normally again. Not everyone will succeed. But those with strong foundations will finally have a real chance.”
She looked at the walls again.
“The separate dimension will also collapse soon after,” she added. “Without the Heavenly Poison Pyramid, it cannot exist. The Purple Poison Marshland will slowly fade away as well.”
’Hmm? With no Purple Poison Marshland, there would also be no Purple Poison river. What will happen to the Purple Poison Sect then?’
Aksai suddenly thought of all the consequences that would be faced by the subcontinent as a whole because of his actions.
