A Journey That Changed The World. - Chapter 1535 - 1535: It's Been Quiet Out Here

Archer was lying on a massive cushion created by Ari with Amelia and Elise in his arms as the other four babies climbed over him. Freya was sitting at his head pulling his hair, letting out adorable babbles. Neoma and Kela were fascinated by his hands, and the twins examined them just as their mother had when she discovered something.
Evelyn perched on his stomach, chattering animatedly to her newborn sisters as if delivering a captivating speech they hung onto. His chuckle rumbled as he watched, then gently scooped up the two infants, pressing a soft kiss to each of their foreheads. Elise shivered with joy at the touch, while Amelia let out a gleeful giggle.
Archer’s heart swelled as he gazed at his six daughters, their tiny faces bright with curiosity and delight. He eased himself onto the soft nursery rug, carefully arranging the babies around him in a cozy circle. Freya, the ringleader, clapped her hands and babbled instructions, as if orchestrating a grand game.
The twins, Neoma and Kela, wiggled on their blanket, their eyes wide with anticipation. The three youngest, Evelyn Elise and Amelia, cooed softly, their tiny fists waving in the air. Archer sprang to his feet with a burst of energy, his eyes sparkling as he gathered the six little girls into a cozy, makeshift lineup. He draped a thick, fluffy blanket over their shoulders, ensuring each one felt snug, their faces lighting up.
The room filled with their cheerful squeals and chatter, a joyful cacophony that tugged at his heart, prompting a warm chuckle to escape his lips. With a playful grin, he dove into the fun, ready to entertain his lively audience. One by one, he tickled their chubby bellies, his fingers dancing lightly over each giggling child. Their infectious laughter rang out, bouncing off the walls.
He showered them with attention for hours until their mothers appeared. Sia, Ella, Olivia, Leira, and Hecate stepped into the room only to beam when seeing him being silly with the girls. Archer stopped blowing raspberries on Freya’s belly and looked up to see her mother smiling down at them.
She stepped forward, speaking. ”No wonder she always cries for you, handsome. Seems like our little girl is a daddy’s girl.”
Archer chuckled at her words but stood up and hugged Sia. ”Well, I love all six of them and can’t stay away,” he said.
Following that, the other women scooped up the other babies while he handed a laughing Freya to her mother. Once they were gone, he slumped down and let out a sigh of relief, thanks to not getting his hair pulled. He pulled out some dragon ale, downing a mouthful before checking on Demetra, who was scouting out the Eastern continent for invasion.
He closed his eyes and used the tattoo to connect with the Demon Shark woman who was swimming along the western coast of the massive landmass. When Demetra sensed this, she internally smiled. ‘Hello husband, it’s been quiet out here, but an Eastern fleet is nearby patrolling one of the main trading cities,’ she revealed.
Archer’s violet eyes lit up excitedly as he teleported to his shark wife and materialized above her. His wings appeared flapping so that he could hover in the air, searching for the enemy ships. In the far distance, he spotted the fading silhouette of a massive battleship. A grin stretched across his face before he shot forward thanks to a stream of mana powering his body.
A loud boom echoed out as Archer dashed through the sky like a rocket and quickly caught up with the enemy ships. Two seconds later, his chest glowed before a stream of violet fire shot out of his mouth. The flames slammed into the battleship, causing an explosion to erupt and a fireball to shoot into the sky.
This sudden attack alerted the rest of the eastern fleet, and they started unloading their mana shells. ‘Looks like they won’t fall without a fight,’ he mused, dodging many volleys of enemy fire as he flew close to the surface.
Just then, Demetra made an appearance and tore a destroyer in half as she tore through the metal vessel. Even more explosions echoed out as he used Mana Blasts to take out anything close. By the time the couple were done, all but one ship was destroyed and sinking to the bottom of the sea.
Archer continued attacking the eastern fleet until they were all gone, and he landed on Demetra’s head as she surfaced while her voice echoed in his mind. ‘That was amazing, Arch, but did you see the way I took out that destroyer?’
‘You were good Dem,’ he replied, dismissing his wings. ‘Now we can explore the land and see what the easterners are like.’
Moments later, the Demon Shark woman propelled herself through the water after making sure to cast her magic over him. The two of them zoomed toward the land only to see a fortress in the distance. Just then, cannons erupted in their direction, and a wave of mana shells arched through the air.
Demetra quickly dived down to flee from the destruction being wrought on the surface, but it didn’t affect them. Archer watched as a massive pod of whales the size of skyscrapers fled into the dark depths of the ocean. When he noticed this, he spoke in a determined voice. ‘Dive deeper! NOW!’
Upon hearing the warning, she reacted with lightning-fast reflexes, plunging into the inky depths of the ocean as a barrage of explosions tore through the water around them. The shells pursued the duo through the churning abyss, their fiery trails illuminating the dark in bursts of light.
Meanwhile, Archer leaped upward, breaking the surface with a surge of energy. His hands glowed with violet mana as he unleashed a flurry of Mana Blasts, each one a radiant orb of concentrated magic. Moments later, he targeted the incoming projectiles, intercepting those that streaked dangerously close, their detonations sending shockwaves rippling through the water.
The air crackled with the clash of magic and munitions as the couple got out of range of the barrage. Demetra came to a stop just inside a trench thanks to a powerful aura stopping them from traveling deeper. When the shark woman sensed this, her voice echoed in his mind. ‘We can’t go further or we both will be doomed.’
Archer’s agreement came quickly. The presence of the ancient beast, lurking in the depths below, ate at his senses. Even here, perched high above the shadowed abyss, the creature’s aura pulsed through the air, a suffocating weight that seemed to coil around the couple. It was no normal monster; it was a primal force, older than the mountains themselves.
Curiosity, that reckless spark that had always driven him throughout life, stirred within him despite the danger. What manner of being could project such a formidable presence from so far below his instincts screamed for caution, but his insatiable need to understand the unknown won out.
With a steadying breath, he channeled a surge of his power, flaring like a beacon in the gloom. He meant it as a probe, a way to test the creature’s strength, to gauge its nature. But the beast was not so easily provoked without consequence. The air grew heavier, charged with a sudden, wrathful energy that made the sea tremble.
A low roar echoed from the depths, not a sound but a force, reverberating through stone and bone alike. His pulse quickened as he realized his mistake. The burst of power hadn’t just caught the creature’s attention; it had enraged it. The beast’s aura surged in response, a dark tide of fury that threatened to swallow the light itself.
Demetra quickly took off and fled into the distance to get away from the beast and the cannons that were targeting the sea above them. Archer continued to watch their surroundings until reaching the shore. The duo leaped out of the water as the shark woman transformed into her human form.
He watched as her navy blue hair cascaded down her back before she tied it into a ponytail, as she glanced at him. ”Ready to explore the eastern continent, my love?”
Following that, Archer led Demetra further inland as they crested a low rise. Archer’s gaze caught on a cluster of structures in the distance, nestled in a shallow valley. The sight halted him mid-step. It was a farming village, its thatched roofs and wooden frameworks glowing softly under the late afternoon sun.
”There,” he said, nodding toward the settlement, his voice steadier than he felt.
Demetra gave a nod, and together they descended the slope, their footsteps crunching against the pebbled path. As they drew closer, his curiosity was piqued. The village wasn’t just quaint, as if it had been plucked from a bygone era on Earth. Low, timber-framed houses with sliding shoji screens lined the dirt paths, their paper panels glowing faintly with the flicker of lanterns within.
Fields of rice paddies lined the road in neat rows, tended by figures in simple robes that swayed in the breeze. The architecture, the clothing, even the rhythmic creak of a waterwheel turning lazily by a stream, reminded him of the villages from ancient Japan.
[Things are looking better now, I found a place to live where I can focus on my family and writing. Thanks for sticking with me, now I’ll repay the favor and release loads of chapters from all my books]
