Absolute Beast Dominion - Chapter 292: Over

Chapter 292: Over
Chapter 292: Over
“Give the finishing blow. I have made sure he doesn’t receive a fatal blow.”
A voice suddenly echoed in Leo’s mind as he exchanged blows with Leon, who was already struggling to maintain the façade of fighting.
Leo briefly glanced around, finding no one in particular. Then his attention was drawn by an intent that made him look up for a moment, catching sight of Tarun’s figure, whose look was nearly identical to Brant except older.
He realised the telepathic message was sent by him. Knowing he was a 6-star professional, Leon’s safety was assured.
His expression then twisted into something cruel, just to give Leon a sense of crisis. And in front of Leon’s widening eyes, Leo delivered the punch.
Swoooshhhh–Vrooomm!
But just before it could even touch Leon’s face, he disappeared, leaving the punch to tear through empty air, blowing the dust ahead in a violent gust.
“NOOO!!!”
He heard Miho’s distant scream and could only shake his head.
Well, I guess she would be worried for quite a time… but I wonder who she bet on?
“Annnnndddd we finally have a winner from this mind-blowing match!” The Host voice boomed excitedly, the major part was from the emmennse betting pool that flickered in his vision.
“With this, we finally come to the end of the competition!!! And our champion is LEO!!!”
The audience roared at the announcement as fireworks burst across the sky.
Back in the temple’s room.
“HAAAH!! Haah… haaah.” Leon’s eyes were still wide with lingering panic, his heart beating wildly after nearly dying.
He touched his face—it was almost fine, except for the first punch Leo had delivered. All of a sudden, he found himself surrounded by countless healers, their skills raining down on him. But—
“What the hell?” one of the healers muttered, her palms glowing brighter with a greenish light as she tried to mend the deep bruise on Leon’s chest.
The same expression spread across the gathered healers as they increased their efforts, their energy thick in the air. It was almost as if his body outright rejected the force behind their healing.
It was then that an older-looking healer realised something was wrong.
“Bring in bandages and wraps. Stop the blood flow. His body is not healing with magic!”
Leon watched the commotion with a bored expression as his heart slowly settled from the near-death encounter. He could still hear the host praising both him and Leo as the competition concluded.
He also heard that since Lily had shown no intention of challenging him, he was declared second by default, with Lily third and Uraan fourth.
It was then that one of the healers spoke up.
“Why can’t we heal you? Is it the person who attacked you? Any specific weapon he used, like that dagger?” The girl asking sounded irritated; they hated such cases the most.
“Ah, no. The problem is with my body. Now don’t ask unnecessary questions and do your job,” Leon replied bluntly.
The girl bandaging his arm applied unnecessary pressure, trying to induce pain, but Leon’s glare was enough to make her stop.
He snorted, not bothered in the least. He knew she was trying to form a connection under the guise of casual conversation. She was at best a Mid-2-star healer who had reached that level with the support of the academy. Healers inherently tend to be cowards after they realise they don’t need to risk their lives to earn their keep. There was no need for Leon to form connection with them.
Fuck off. Miho’s much better than you stupid people… And she won’t try to hurt me when I snub her.
He recalled his indifferent attitude toward her and the cold replies he gave while she bandaged him, yet she never seemed to care, becoming gentler instead.
The only reason Leon acted like that was because he didn’t know how to be proactive. And Miho understood that.
Back outside, Leo was finally teleported away and was immediately pulled into a warm hug by Lily. He had to stop her before she started showering him with kisses and doing unhealthy things in public.
Like seriously… what’s the secret?
All the boys shared the same thought—even the stoic Tavian.
Leo smirked at them as if showing off, which made a vein pop on Ronan’s head. But he couldn’t do anything, as Lily had already started looking toward them, almost as if sensing ill intent toward Leo.
It was her talent, [Spirit Caller], which allowed her to sense the spirits of others at certain point of time and perceive their intent more clearly than even higher-star beings than her.
“Ladies and Gentlemen! With this, we conclude the official competition. And we have our final ranking of the top 10 students of Aurelius Beast Academy who will be participating in the inter-academy competition after 3 months, with Leo as the captain!”
1. Leo
2. Leon
3. Lily
4. Uraan Hurricane
5. Aaron Stone
6. Ronan Virex
7. Tavian Gridfall
8. Dhalia Renner
9. Lyra Noctis
10. Marco
“Woaaaaahhhh!!!! Aurelius Beast Academy will win for sure this time!”
“Lily is a monster! Leon is a beast, and Leo is an absolute beast!”
“YESSSSS!!!”
“Three Ls for the win! Hoorayy!!!”
Currently, the clock read 12:56 PM, 10th January.
“We have an announcement! Our honourable General and Vice Principal, Tarun, has decided to host the reward ceremony starting from 6 PM to give our students some cooling time. Only the top 50 students will receive their rewards publicly. The rest can collect theirs from the Aurelius Hall at a comfortable time. Don’t rush! We are not short on rewards!”
That was the final statement that ended the day.
At that time, Leon was teleported back into the top-10 room. The previously chattering room fell silent at his arrival.
Though his figure was covered in an overcoat and baggy pants, the bandages underneath were clearly visible. There was even a bruise on his cheek, unhealed and only covered with a strip of fabric.
The first to speak was Uraan.
“Are you a masochist? Why didn’t you get yourself healed with magic?” he asked, his expression incredulous.
Leon slightly sneered at the repeated question but chose not to reply.
“Oh, him?” Leo answered instead.
“He just likes scars that form after an injury.”
That made Leon’s slight sneer deepen into a full one, but he still couldn’t say much—it would reveal his damaged soul.
“…yeah…” he muttered in a painfully low voice.
