Chapter 328: Wood Elf Secret Realm – 4 [Bonus 3/4]
“I will say this much: if they sense the arriving group has considerable strength—which yours obviously has—they will simply hide away in that large expanse.”
Andrew leaned back once again.
“I am 100% sure the first 2 hours will be spent just looking for a trace of a single elf. Then, after following that trace, when you finally reach that elf, the real game will start as the others converge on your location to free the cornered one.”
“Like that, you can easily capture 5 to 6, and then just run straight for the exit. By that time, less than half an hour will be left. And in case the realm closes, be ready to be hunted.”
He paused briefly.
“Because even 3 of them are enough to play around with you once night arrives.”
“Night?” Leo questioned.
“But aren’t we going inside at night itself? Like, 7 PM is already pretty late.”
Andrew shook his head.
“Secret realms have a false weather system run by the world itself that creates rain, wind, spring, and even sunlight. So you will most likely arrive during the day.”
Leo nodded in understanding.
At that moment, both Leo and Kaelion glanced at each other before simultaneously asking Andrew,
“How much to keep the information about our beasts secret?”
“iiiissssss—haaaah..” Andrew drew in a deep breath, as if savoring the fact that Leo and Kaelion had brought up this topic.
“Now we are talking. Kekekeke.”
He leaned forward slightly.
“But you know, I am the only one who might have information that the top 3 students possess. What to do, what to do, what to do. HAHAHAHA.”
He laughed hysterically.
At that moment, both of them understood that the cost would not be small—especially when the information needed to remain hidden until the Inter-Academy Competition.
But then Leo and Kaelion realized something.
Except for Howl, Nyxa, Shyra, and Hydra, all of their beasts had already been revealed. The Scorpion and Niri were revealed through the temple anyway.
Even among the unrevealed ones, Howl and Hydra were unknown to Andrew—Howl because Andrew had retreated before it appeared, and Hydra because it had been tamed recently.
And the fact that Andrew mostly had outdated information might actually be advantageous in revealing it.
After a moment of deliberation, Leo decided that Andrew must not reveal the information about Nyxa and Shyra… both at the cost of 250,000 AC each.
Now Leo was down to 10.86 million AC.
By now, Andrew seemed to have completely recovered from the losses he had incurred after betting on Kaelion.
They checked the time.
10:23 AM, 21 January 500 AA {After Apocalypse}
“We still have more than 8 hours to prepare,” Leo noted. Then he beckoned Brok, who was standing in the distance.
“How much time will it take to cover 430 kilometers on your eagle?”
Brok raised his brow in astonishment.
“430 kilometers! Wow, boss, I can give some discounts on that. As for time, a bit more than an hour, and my eagle can manage it without resting.”
Brok’s the cost for a 430-kilometer ride for 4 people on his special prices:
Per person per kilometer.
From the Academy to anywhere. [10 AC]
From Somewhere to Academy. [20 AC]
From Anywhere to Anywhere. [30 AC]
Luggage / 10 kg. [2 AC]
According to this, the total cost would come down to 17,200 AC.
But Leo waved his hand dismissively.
“No need. But be prepared—I will call you at 4 PM, and we will depart as soon as possible. We need to reach before 6.”
Leo wanted to reach 1 hour earlier since it was a new place and they might get lost.
Just then, Lily called out.
“Leo! Let’s go. That sly informant said the environment is cold there. We should buy a few warm clothes and pack some food too,” Lily said excitedly, clearly happy to get another chance to shop with Leo.
But there were also two people who would be experiencing it for the first time together.
After careful deliberation, the four of them decided to split into two groups to buy the necessary items they might need.
Soon, an hour passed as they regrouped. But even then, Lily and Miho once again headed toward the market to buy more things.
Now the only ones left behind were Leo and Kaelion.
And being as serious as they were, they decided to plan out how they would proceed with conquering the realm.
“So? I think you are thinking what I am thinking, right?” Leo asked, looking at Kaelion, who was sitting across the table and sipping a cold beverage.
Kaelion set the cup down.
“Yes. We will capture all of them.”
“That’s what I wanted to hear. If what Andrew said is true, then we cannot afford to miss such a formidable force for our territory.”
“Yes. Combined with the way they fight, Bigfoot and the others will be more than enough to defend the territory alone in our absence.”
Leo nodded.
“And that synergy talent of the Dreambearer—I am curious whether it can be applied to us. Aren’t we allowed to take a few extra fighting forces in our team for Inter-Academy Competitions? I am sure that slaves acquired inside the academy are allowed to be part of the team. That elf might give us an advantage.”
“Yeah,” Kaelion affirmed.
“What about her [World Dream] talent? Can that be utilised somehow? Like being able to see glimpses of our opponents or enemies in her sleep so that we are prepared.”
Kaelion shook his head.
“No. A Dreambearer’s talent vanishes the moment they leave the secret realm.”
After that, the two discussed their plans until the girls arrived at 2 o’clock.
After having a meal, they went to register for attempting the Wood Elf Secret Realm.
Apparently, it could be done through the phone. However, only territory leaders were capable of doing so, so Leo got to work.
But the moment he opened the page, he was dumbfounded after making a single swipe on the secret realm’s page.
“What the hell?”
