Katherine stood in the distance, sensing everything the priest was thinking, but she could only sigh internally in response. This was everywhere.
But as he concluded his report and read through the details himself, his eyes lit up.
He turned toward the group.
“May I know who among you is going to be the master, or will they be equally shared among you?” he asked.
The group looked at each other and instantly came to a conclusion.
“It’s me,” Leo said as he stepped forward.
“I will own all of them.”
Munier nodded, his excitement not dimming in the slightest.
“May I suggest something?” he asked.
Leo nodded, signaling him to proceed.
“I think you shouldn’t enslave all of the elves for yourself. You see, there are two individuals in the 4-star realm among the elves, and sustaining them is very hard and costly. Not to mention eight elves in the 3-star realm, four in the 2-star realm, and finally six 1-star elves,” he continued, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
“From my experience, I can tell that feeding them just enough so that they don’t drop in rank is going to cost nearly a million AC per month. Combined with buying suitable gear and essentials, it’s going to shoot to 1.5 million AC per month. Now this is a problem for fresh students—heck, it’s a problem for even 3rd term students. 1.5 Million AC is no joke.” He looked around and saw people listening carefully and interested in his words; his excitement peaked because this meant his plan could work.
“Now this is where my suggestion comes in. If you sell away the 1-star wood elves, which I suppose will go for at least 2 million AC each…” He shot a casual glance toward those elves.
Those elves felt the ground beneath them fall after realizing what was going to happen to them. Naelith clenched her fist so hard that her fingers dug into her flesh, and blood slowly seeped out.
“Their bodies and appearance demand that much the very least, so you can get 12 Million AC! Then, seeing that there are so many 3-star and two 4-star elves, you should even sell the 2-star elves. For which, the high 2-star elves might go for 4 Million AC each and Peak 2-star elves for 5 Million AC each. That’s a total of 30 million AC! You can easily sustain the remaining elves for yourself for a long duration of time!”
All the elves squirmed uneasily at his words. Some were even on the verge of crying, thinking they would be separated after all. And who knew what would happen to the ones that would be sent away to a different place. Dread filled their beings, and their throats ran dry. Even Sylrael, who had looked calm even after being captured, was visibly cracking after seeing her little sisters get valued so mercilessly and, at the end of the day, get separated.
But Munier was singing a very different song in his head.
Yes! There’s no way anybody can refuse after having 30 million within their reach at minimal loss. I should probably prepare to part with my 2 Million… He cast another glance toward the elves. But his restrained lust was slowly seeping into his eyes, and many elves instinctively flinched under his gaze.
No! I should probably get my hands on those two 2-star realm elves… They will last longer. His initial plan of only buying a single 1-star elf changed when he realized there was a chance he could get more, and of better quality.
I should probably ask for some money from my friend without saying what I nee—
“No. I plan to keep them all. Please proceed with your further process,” Leo said simply. His mind was already somewhere else after hearing their maintenance costs, leaving Munier speechless.
1.5 Million? That much should be doable… especially since a few more Verdant Ascension fruits have started to mature… The last time I sold them, they went for 700,000 AC each. Not to mention, now I plan to hunt beasts and start a few businesses of magic fruits, potions, and mercenary service… I already acquired the necessary manpower, he deliberated.
Even the 1-star elves would be useful to handle tasks such as caring for magic fruits and building structures. This way, Miho could focus on getting stronger quickly so that she would be eligible to participate in the inter-academy competition after 3-months.
“T-think again! If you don’t feed them properly, their rank might reduce, and later when you sell them after using them, they might incur you a los—”
“Priest Munier,” Katherine said. Her simple words were enough to wake Munier from his stupid dreams.
“Y-yes. If you say so.” He reluctantly retreated to retrieve the slave collars.
But just as he was about to turn away, Leo stopped him.
“Ah… wait,” he said.
“Did you change your mind?!” Munier asked, hope filling his being as his blood surged once again.
“Tsk. I want to choose custom collars for them. Don’t bring those black iron ones,” Leo sneered, this priest’s desires were truly off the charts.
The priest’s expression fell once again as he went to bring a list of designs from which they could choose.
While the room was left in stillness, Sylrael and the other elves felt their emotions turn complicated.
Just now, the demon-like people who brought them into misery suddenly started to glow like angels. Leo’s simple words about keeping them all were enough to spark such a feeling.
Though they still weren’t aware of how they would be treated or what their lives would become, at least they would be together through that suffering. As they silently watched, Lily discussed things with Leo.
“Leo! Why didn’t you say we have the freedom to choose collar types? I was already grimacing, thinking these girls would wear those ugly black collars and that I’d have to look at them every day. But since we can choose, let me do it,” she said proudly, confident in selecting the best.
Leo simply gave the green light as Lily invited Miho to choose from the list of collars that the priest brought on a large tray, which hovered in the air with his telekinetic powers.
