Absolute Beast Dominion - Chapter 357: Fish - 2

Chapter 357: Fish – 2
A/N: I have changed a small part in the previous Chapter.
“Where means what? I will take you there. And I suppose you might have already seen Samtal Lake on your way to Barfila Mountain, we just need to travel 800 Kilometres ahead in the same direction to reach Gehra Lake.”

Chapter 357: Fish – 2
While marvelling—or rather, nursing a faint headache—something suddenly popped into his mind.
Wait… If the world is so big…
“Will I ever be able to roam it together with Lily completely before I grow old…?” he unknowingly spoke his last words aloud.
Brant immediately took an interest.
“You want to roam the world?” he asked, before shaking his head.
“Brat, you have a long way ahead before you can even think of leaving the Empire boundaries,” he continued.
“You should understand why we have only explored 50% of the discovered landmass. We haven’t even uncovered the total landmass!” He paused, then added as if recalling something, “Well, except for our Emperor. It is said he crossed the outer space layers of Skadrial to reach… ah… what was it? Sa-te-lit. Yeah, something like that. I vaguely remember what it was called,” he said with a shrug.
“And don’t worry about becoming old once you become stro–”
“Hm?” Brant’s brow scrunched as he sensed something unusual in Leo.
“Ah! Let’s proceed to capture the fish. I am really excited for the lake,” Leo quickly diverted, his tone light. His mind had started racing the moment Brant mentioned satellites—that was what Brant had sensed. But knowing Brant could pick up on such shifts, Leo redirected his attention, feigning excitement about the lake.
But Brant didn’t miss it.
This brat… so mysterious.
—
“You are going out again?” Lily whined softly after hearing that Leo would be leaving with Brant.
“Yeah, if things go according to plan, I will return by evening, or else late at night,” Leo said, packing some food items prepared by Lily for his breakfast, the faint aroma still lingering.
“You could have at least rested for half a day; you have been awake for more than 24 hours and have been working for 3 days continuously,” Lily said grumpily. She had just wanted to laze around today—most of which would have been hugging him like a pillow and sleeping in his arms.
Leo pulled her into a hug, patting her back gently.
“I will be back soon, after which you can cradle me like a baby, alright?”
“Hmph! You are my baby.”
Saying that, she tiptoed and kissed his cheeks as Leo stepped out of the shed, heading towards Brant’s location.
“Be careful and take care,” Lily called out, waving at the door just as Sylrael approached from a distance to discuss a few things with her.
Leo left with warmth bubbling in his heart at her words.
“Damn, didn’t know it is such a good feeling,” he muttered under his breath.
Leo reached Brant.
“Everything set?” Brant asked.
“Yes, but you will really help me bring all the fish?” Leo asked. While planning earlier, he had realised that domesticated beasts could not enter the spiritual space and thus needed to be physically carried back—but he had no facilities for that.
Brant had simply told him not to worry and that he would handle everything.
“But aren’t you more like my overseer? It will be unfair to other students if you help me this much.” Brant personally bringing him to a designated special location was already a huge favour. Other students would need weeks of research just to find such a high-value fishing ground, and Brant was practically dropshipping everything to him.
“Heh.” Brant scoffed.
“Nothing is fair in this world. Why should you worry about it? I would say be more shameless than you already are and test the limits of what I can provide you.”
Leo raised a brow just as Brant realised his slip.
“Uh, I might have misjudged your shamelessness, but that statement was meant for people like Lu and Tarun. I am way too broke to provide anything. All of my expenses are handled by Katherine,” he added smoothly, shifting the burden elsewhere.
“I was already planning to ask for a lifetime free supply of high-ranked beast meat, but I guess I need to save it for another day. Tsk.” Leo shook his head in mock defeat.
Brant let out a quiet sigh of relief after dodging a bullet he had fired at his own feet.
After a bit of banter, they rode on the Storm Skyrend Eagle.
Skyrend Eagle (High 5-star) – Noble bloodline [Storm Variant]
“Whoa… this beast rose in ranks,” Leo exclaimed, observing its darkened texture. But he quickly corrected himself after this strength reveal slip—previously, this eagle had been an Intermediate 5-star.
“The aura it emits is now far greater than before.”
Brant raised a brow.
“You can sense his strength now? Now that’s interesting… is it the effect of your soul talent?”
Brant deliberated. No individual 2 minor ranks below a being could sense its strength. Since Leo’s aura suggested he was no more than Pseudo 4-star, he should only be able to sense up to Mid 4-star beings. But the eagle was already High 5-star—and Leo sensed it. Brant immediately attributed it to Leo’s unique soul talent. Or maybe it was just a guess?
Skiiiiiiiiiiaaaa!
The eagle pierced the skies, slicing through clouds at supersonic speed.
This!!! Leo’s eyes widened at the sheer velocity.
At the very least, we are at Mach 15! he thought as the land blurred beneath him. It was clear his body wasn’t ready for such speed—if not for the protective shield deployed by the eagle to resist wind pressure and aerodynamics, he would have been torn apart.
He glanced at Brant, who calmly looked ahead as if this were part of his daily routine. Brant stroked his beard, contemplating the best—and safest—spot to capture those fish.
Leo was surprised when the Samtal Lake, which had taken Brok more than 30 minutes to reach, came into view within 2 minutes, and they crossed it within split seconds.
Even more so when they zoomed past the Barfila Mountain, the speed was so extreme that Leo could only register a flash of white before the snowy region vanished once again, replaced by dense jungle. He didn’t even get a chance to witness the peak of Barfila Mountain.
“T-this all comes under the Academy’s grounds?” Leo asked, his voice carrying a hint of disbelief.
Brant snapped out of his thoughts.
“Oh, yes. As an estimate, the academy is 10,000 Km wide, though it keeps expanding and reducing as territories are captured and overtaken,” he replied, then added, “Though students are limited to only 7,000 Km, because the rest area is highly volatile—with 6-star beasts appearing at any time, anywhere.”
Only 7,000 Kilometers…?
