Absolute Beast Dominion - Chapter 359: Fish - 4

Chapter 359: Fish – 4
Chapter 359: Fish – 4
What the fuck is that?! Some sort of hybrid between shark and stingray? Leo was completely baffled after seeing the monstrous 20 to 30 meter long beast with a fin span of nearly 50 to 60 meters speeding towards him even faster than the speed of an eagle currently.
And the reason Leo was so startled was because—
“It locked on you,” Brant said calmly as suddenly the skyrend eagle’s size started to increase, the initial 40 meter wingspan beginning to expand.
WHOOOPM!
The Razor Current Ray shot through the water and, as if it were a flying beast itself, directly reached for the eagle 200 meters above. Its velocity was so high that in just a second it had travelled nearly a hundred meters into the sky. It snapped open its jaws and aimed directly for Leo.
Leo was shocked at how a beast could be so accurate. This ray had directly targeted something moving at 300kmph from inside the water at god knows what depth, and it would have succeeded in getting to Leo—
Flaappp!
The eagle flapped its wings and tilted its body, the air roaring past Leo’s ears as the ray missed the target and continued on its path.
Flap!
Another powerful flap from the eagle, and the water surface below raged from the wind pressure created. The eagle shot upward directly toward the rising ray.
It did a 360 while ascending, and by now the eagle’s wingspan had already crossed 100 meters. Its metallic talons gleamed as they began to crackle with electricity.
Pirchhh!
The talons dug into the soft outer layer of the ray, and blood immediately started to seep out, the metallic smell faintly reaching even this height. It seemed the beast had realised its mistake as it thrashed wildly.
Krrrrrreeeeeeee—!
It screamed when suddenly—
Crackle—zippppzzpp!
A wave of electricity passed through the eagle’s talons and ran through the beast’s body.
The beast seemed paralysed, but the eagle had not stopped ascending. Yes, it was actually lifting a beast weighing 550 tons or more effortlessly, though most of the work was done by the wind magic it used, otherwise there was no way a 100-ton avian beast could have lifted it.
The Razor Current Ray seemed to be completely paralysed.
“Fool, learn which fights to take,” Brant said as another sharp wave of electric current passed through the beast, and it died on the spot.
Leo’s eyes widened; he wasn’t even confident he could defeat this beast, and Brant had killed it in just two attacks.
He watched as the beast fell limp onto the water surface.
Splash!
The place where the talons had dug in still bled even though the wound had burned, and that attracted the same small silver fish that had run away previously.
Silver Swarm Fish (Peak 1-star) – Ordinary Bloodline
Silver Swarm Fish (Mid 1-star) – Ordinary Bloodline
Silver Swarm Fish (Mid 1-star) – Mortal Bloodline
Silver Swarm Fish (High 1-star) – Ordinary Bloodline
Silver Swarm Fish (Low 2-star) – Mortal Bloodline
They were of varied sizes, ranging from palm-sized to as big as 2 meters, but the most notable part was their numbers.
At a glance, Leo could see thousands of such fish swarming around the dead Razor Current Ray and starting to nitpick at it, turning the surrounding water red within minutes. And these thousands of fish were visible just at the surface level; what was beneath, he couldn’t even guess.
Brant made the eagle hover in one place so Leo could get an idea of the lake’s ecosystem.
Suddenly, the same pattern appeared as the silver fish parted. Leo concentrated and tried to see what was happening, but the water was deep and light didn’t reach that far, so he couldn’t see clearly. But he didn’t have to wait long before a beast resembling a shark appeared out of nowhere and bit off a chunk of the ray’s body. If the fishes were nitpicking, the shark was devouring.
Leo focused a bit more and saw it.
Bloodwake Shark (Mid 4-star) – Super Bloodline
An 18-meter predator with even sharper and longer razor-sharp teeth than the ray. It tore flesh frenziedly and ate as if it had been hungry for days.
*pic*
“Alright, let’s go.” Saying that, Brant instructed the eagle to rise to 500 meters above the water and changed its course with a sudden ninety-degree turn towards the right.
“Hm? We weren’t on the way we were supposed to?” Leo asked.
Brant looked at him with a smirk.
“You wanted to sightsee, right? There you go, I fulfilled your wish. Satisfied?” Brant asked.
Leo looked back at the bloody scene once again.
“Yeah…”
Though Leo said that, he secretly vowed not to ever approach such big water bodies unless he had a minimum of 6-star strength to be on the safe side.
Because apparently they weren’t even 30 kilometres deep and a High 4-star beast sting ray had jumped more than 200 meters out of the water to eat him.
The eagle kept gliding until finally, after half an hour, the shoreline was visible once again. But this time there was a large river, almost 500 meters wide, merging into the lake. But surprisingly, there was no delta; it was an estuary—the mouth of a large river where tide meets the stream without a delta.
Brant nodded after seeing the place.
“We will find what we are looking for without the risk of a high-ranked predator… though be aware of crocodiles.” Saying that, they landed on the sandy beach. Yes, it was appropriate to call it a beach when the water body in front of them resembled a sea.
Leo bent down and picked up the sand.
“So fine…” he muttered, rubbing it between his fingers.
“Yes, sand from Gehra Lake is very famous for glassworks because the sand is of great quality. Now let’s go fishing. Hoho.” He said and directly pulled out two long fishing rods and handed one to Leo.
“There.” Brant pointed at a rocky platform which was more inward toward the river than the lake.
“The fish that we plan to catch don’t like much salty water. Yes, they can survive, but clean water is more suitable for them since the water they condense around them is clear and drinkable.”
Leo raised his brow.
“Gehra Lake is a saltwater lake?”
“Yes, it might not have been the case if not for the secret realms of oceans opening inside the lake and flooding the entire region with salt water.”
“Secret realms inside water?” Leo was astonished.
“You will be surprised when you get to know the places where secret realms open. There was a case when one opened inside the ass of a sleeping ancient savage beast.”
Though Leo had questions as to what the person who found the secret realm was doing inside the ass of a beast, he decided it was best to pay attention to the current matter.
