Absolute Beast Dominion - Chapter 395: Companion

Chapter 395: Companion
Chapter 395: Companion
After a moment of deliberation, Leo decided it would be better for Drycha—Lily’s treant—to have it.
The reasoning was simple. He had seen the Thorncrawler use two ranged attacks: one was the spore mist that had knocked Virat down, and the other was those strange seeds that endlessly produced vines at the point of impact. Niri already had [Solar Beam] and [Spike Pores] as ranged attacks, but the Treant didn’t have any.
He used [Beastiary Of Souls] on the Centipede’s core and assimilated it into Drycha.
Ding!
Cedar Treant [Drycha] (High 3-star) – Noble Bloodline 24% -> 24%
Ding!
>Skill—[Bloomvine Detonation] acquired by Drycha.
Bloomvine Detonation:
Seed-like projectiles embed into surfaces or enemies, lying dormant for a moment before violently blooming into thin yet sturdy vines that continuously strangle any beings caught within until the seed core is destroyed or the user stops supplying mana. The seed possesses piercing properties, allowing it to pass through sturdy defenses and harm the enemy within.
It didn’t acquire the spore attack.
Leo noted that the bloodline hadn’t advanced even a bit, just like Lunaria’s hadn’t previously when he had used avian beast cores on her. It was because both beasts belonged to different species and couldn’t aid in enhancing the bloodline. However, since they shared the same affinity, skills could still be learned.
“Nice… now the macho beast finally has something to shoot from afar,” he muttered with a faint grin.
He had noticed during the competition that the Treant looked visibly frustrated whenever it couldn’t attack beasts that kept their distance, only for Lunaria to take the lead with her wind-based ranged attacks.
With that done, he turned and started walking back toward the territory, leaving the rest to the others.
Kaelion and Bigfoot had already finished dealing with all the leeches that had been clinging to Howl’s body, and Virat had been taken to the bunker, where Veronica was tending to him.
“Should I prepare some rewards for Virat for his performance and bravery?” Leo wondered. There were very few—no, almost none—who would challenge something 2 major realms higher and still perform so well. Technically, Virat had only dealt around 5% damage and even that was healed the next instant, but the bravery alone was commendable.
Leo let out a quiet sigh.
“Lily will probably say the Desert Eagle and bombs already count for that… well, that’s fair. I told him to show good performane, and he did. Maybe a few low-level worm cores and mana crystals will do, since he missed this post-battle hunting chance,” he muttered as he walked toward the empty area to continue dumping arrows.
As he walked, he spotted Tavian standing at a distance, staring curiously at the Thunder-Crest Elk Antler. Since it was a restricted zone, he kept his distance, observing it carefully.
Leo immediately understood what was going through Tavian’s mind, but he still asked, “Tavian, everything alright?”
“Uh, yes… I was wondering if this beast’s body treasure is yours,” Tavian replied, his gaze still lingering on the antler.
“Yes, it’s mine.”
“Hm… I was thinking I could use the energy in it to power arrays and formations in areas outside the plateau, since the mana density there is low, but…”
“But what? I don’t have any problem using it as an energy source,” Leo said. In fact, using it that way would gradually reduce the energy inside the antler, lowering its tier and making it safer for Lunaria to consume.
“Uh… I’m not adept enough to handle such high-level treasures,” Tavian admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. “From my guess, it’s at least a Peak Purple-tier treasure… maybe even Yellow-tier, since you have it. I simply can’t work on it with my current expertise.”
Low expertise, huh? Leo thought.
That must be true—he couldn’t even tell the correct rank of the treasure.
The antler was a Low-Orange Tier treasure, a whole major tier above what Tavian had estimated.
“How long will it take for you to reach that level of expertise?” Leo asked.
“Maybe 2 years? I’m not sure… it might take longer,” Tavian replied casually, as if 2 years was nothing at all.
For someone at mid 3-star like Tavian, who could live up to 300 years, 2 years was indeed insignificant—especially when growing stronger could extend his lifespan even further.
But for Leo, who came from Earth, 2 years was a considerable amount of time.
“Alright. We gathered a lot of mana crystals during this worm attack—we can work with those. Go ahead and continue your work,” Leo said.
Tavian nodded. After one last glance at the antler, he turned and left.
Everyone continued with their tasks, and by the end of the day, Leo’s balance stood at 13.9 million AC. Even after hunting so many beasts, he had only managed to increase it by 3.5 million.
“Well… that’s 1400 gold coins right there…” he muttered, consoling himself by converting it into metal currency. Besides, he hadn’t sold any beast cores, mana crystals, or soul crystals yet—otherwise, his income would have easily increased more than doubled.
But he needed those resources—mana crystals as a power source, and beast cores to strengthen his beasts.
As for the soul crystals…
“Gather all the spoils in front of me,” Leo instructed Naelith.
She followed immediately, and the other elves soon brought everything forward.
After counting, the total was:
789 beast cores and mana crystals ranging from Low 1-star to Peak 2-star
4 beast cores and mana crystals of Pseudo 3-star
1 beast core and mana crystal of Low 3-star
All of them belonged to worms. Since they had been targeting worms specifically, the others had ignored fleeing or hiding beasts that seemed harmless.
Leo waved his hand, storing the mana crystals to use as a power reserve for Tavian’s arrays.
Next, his gaze shifted to a smaller pile of crystals glowing with a faint greenish warmth.
135 Soul Crystals ranging from High 1-star to Peak 2-star
2 Soul Crystals of Pseudo 3-star
The Low 3-star worm hadn’t dropped a soul crystal. The same was true for the centipede.
He was going to use these soul crystals to trade for mana crystals from Brok, Virat, and the three girls—but the amount here was simply too small.
He had intended to distribute them among the elves as rewards for their efforts. However, once again, the ranks were too low to offer any meaningful benefit, except perhaps to the 4 elves who were still in the 2-star realm.
Then, suddenly, an idea struck him.
What if I tamed a spirit worm resurrected by Lily… and used it as a companion for them?
