Chapter 479: Woman
Seeing the sudden change in Leo’s expression, the other 2 men immediately knew something bad had happened.
“What happened, Leo?” Aaron asked quickly.
“My maids encountered a problem. I need to go. See you later,” Leo said before stepping out of the restaurant after placing a gold coin on the counter. He didn’t even wait for the change.
“Wait, his maids are elves! Very beautiful elves at that. I bet some arrogant student or wandering young master laid eyes on them. Let’s follow him. Maybe we can help a little and appease his mind so he can truly forgive you,” Aaron suggested to Dale.
Dale immediately nodded, and the 2 quickly got up to follow Leo from behind. In the process, Aaron tossed a gold coin onto the counter, not realising Leo had already paid for their meals.
The receptionist stared blankly at the unexpected shower of money when the customers hadn’t even ordered enough to warrant 5 silver coins, not to mention he couldn’t even call them to return the rest because they darted away in such a rush.
He immediately glanced around to check if his manager was nearby before paying the 5 silver coins from his own pocket and quietly pocketing the 2 gold coins.
Yes! I am rich!

“W-where did he go?” Dale asked after suddenly losing sight of Leo, who seemed to melt into the shadows.
“It’s his skill! Shit, let’s search the area and see if we can find him. I can’t have my friend die just because we lost the opportunity to help him,” Aaron said as both of them frantically started looking around.
Meanwhile…
“Where is the manager?! How can he allow some lowly slaves to enter the store?!” a woman who looked to be around 25 shouted loudly inside a Beauty Store, instantly drawing the attention of nearby people, even those passing outside.
She had dull red hair falling in carefully styled waves over a tight black dress with a deep neckline and a slit running along one thigh, the smooth fabric clinging closely to her curves. A thin red jacket rested over her shoulders, clearly chosen to match her hair and attract attention.
Though she carried herself with practised allure, the excessive makeup and forced elegance dulled whatever charm she hoped to create, just like her hair.
Standing in front of her were Naelith and Lyswenna, both holding colourful feathers meant to be adorned over dresses to enhance one’s appearance.
The feathers came from a juvenile avian beast somewhat similar to a peacock by the standards of Leo’s previous world, though the colours were far more vibrant and its appearance much more striking. Naturally, they were expensive too, with a single feather costing 1 gold coin.
Lyswenna felt the feathers would match her and the other elves’ clothing and style very well, so she bought 19 of them, leaving Naelith out since her hair colour didn’t match.
So, they continued browsing the shop and eventually found a Phoenix feather in a high-security area display. It was rather costly at 10 gold coins, but they still wanted to buy it, so they told the shopkeeper about it and the feather was brought out for display.
After paying, Lyswenna had been trying to place one of the feathers onto her waist rope to see how it looked when, at that moment, the shop’s door suddenly opened and the woman’s entourage of 5 women, including herself, entered.
One of her friends subconsciously commented on Naelith’s bright red hair and even remarked that it looked better than the hair of many direct descendants of the Ember family.
That instantly bruised the woman’s ego, causing her to start belittling the 2 elves.
“And what’s in your hand?!” the woman shouted.
But the moment her eyes landed on the vibrant feathers, she became instantly captivated.
These were the same feathers she had wanted since childhood, yet could never afford. Especially the Phoenix feather. Even though she didn’t know which species of phoenix it came from, it was still a phoenix feather, which meant that keeping it in contact with her body over long periods would gradually improve her fire affinity and perhaps even brighten the accursed dullness of her hair.
She also noticed that the elf with bluish-green hair was actually trying the feathers on herself, and no slave would dare do that with their master’s belongings. That could only mean the feathers had been bought for personal use.
“There’s no way you can afford that. Are you using some mind technique to fool the shopkeeper? Return it now!” she shouted as she strode toward Naelith and Lyswenna, who had just finished paying.
It was also at this moment that Lyswenna quickly messaged Leo.
Lyswenna: We have been falsely accused.
She wrote only that much because she had to sidestep to avoid the hand reaching for her. Since her location sharing was constantly active, Leo would have no trouble finding them.
And since Leo had instructed them to report even minor mishaps, even something as simple as accidentally bumping into someone and causing agitation, Lyswenna naturally had to inform him about this as well.
“Mere slaves dare avoid me?!” the woman shouted before turning toward Naelith, who was now closer.
But the moment her hand reached toward Naelith—more specifically toward the Phoenix feather—Naelith calmly sidestepped as well.
“You dare!” the woman snapped as her eyes began glowing with a faint orange light, making it obvious she was using her power.
Lyswenna sharply turned toward the shopkeeper.
“Please inform the lady that we have paid the full price for the merchandise and that no one here is at fault,” she said calmly.
But Naelith looked even calmer, because she wasn’t saying anything at all. She merely watched the woman silently.
In reality, however, she was suppressing her hot temper because Leo had specifically ordered her not to act rashly in anger.
“Stop using your mental attacks on the poor shopkeeper!” the woman shouted before charging toward both of them, her fist blazing with fire.
The manager—a man in his 30s—was descending the stairs after hearing the commotion. The moment he arrived, he saw the dull red-haired woman throwing punches at the elves, who were effortlessly dodging every attack, even while both of their hands remained occupied with the expensive feathers.
