Ace Of Terrans - Chapter 1104 1104: Brewing Currents.

Shi Lang accepted the jade card and the envoy vanished. The Terran sensed the invitation with his Dao Sense and he found the method that was needed to attend the banquet. Shi Lang hummed and then he said, “The invitation requires me to be present in the house of the Dao Courtyard with the liaison of the human race. The leader of the Miwa Family.”
Amelia nodded and asked, “Is this exclusive to you?”
Shi Lang nodded and said, “Only the strongest of the race is invited over. If I bring in anyone else then it would be seen as a disrespect towards the Realm Lord. The last time the human race did something like this, they were punished by the eradication of the sages. Although I will inform the rest of the people, but I will not take them along. Ummm, I think that some of the Federal tech might be able to pass through the senses of the Realm Lord and we might be able to get a glimpse of what it is like there.”
Amelia nodded and said, “That is fine, but you must remain cautious. You are at the peak of the sage realm, and we have no idea if their are levels ahead of this. If the realm lord is qualified to rule over the ten thousand races, then I am worried about an insurmountable gap between us and him.”
Shi Lang nodded and replied, “Indeed, it is possible that this guy has a lot of strength. However, I have some conjectures of my own, and if possible I would like to gather the data about them and handle these things.”
Amelia nodded and then she said, “Well, when is the banquet?”
The man replied, “Within an hour.”
Amelia sighed and said, “Do you think they are targeting you?”
Shi Lang shrugged and said, “I have no idea about that but for now, I will head over to the Tianjiao city.”
Amelia nodded and replied, “I will talk to the rest of the sages and ask them to stay alert.”
The Terran leaned in to kiss her and then he vanished from his spot. Amelia sighed and said, “Tao, call a gathering.”
…
Shi Lang appeared in the Tianjiao City and he looked for the leader of the Miwa Family. The person was a middle-aged man. The Miwa Family were all mortals but they had a great command over the principles of Dao, this was why they were allowed to interact with the Dao Plain and watch over the entrance.
Shi Lang appeared before the middle-aged man and said, “The invitation to the banquet of the Realm Lord. Let’s go, we are short on time.”
The patriarch of the family nodded and then he handed his seal to the elder of the family, and went along with Shi Lang. The patriarch asked, “Lord Shi, what do you think is the objective of this banquet?”
Shi Lang thought for a bit as they walked and the Terran said, “They are probably looking for a gathering and using this banquet as an excuse to clarify the details of the Ranking Tournament.”
The patriarch of the Miwa family nodded and said, “People like me, we are allowed to stand and watch the tournament from the sideline and take notes. Last time when the human race qualified to enter the tournament my ancestor was there. They made a record of the battle, but I am ashamed to say that it was not very impressive.”
Shi Lang smiled and waved his hand as he said, “It doesn’t have to be impressive, it just has to be authentic. As for the rest, let us see how it goes after the tournament begins, Patriarch Miwa.”
The two of them crossed the gate and entered the Dao Plain, but their was still half an hour before the banquet began and the middle-aged man said, “Sir, the tournament has a different version every time. Some times it is a straight duel format, some times it a group contest, and a few rare times, they have held a life and death format.”
Shi Lang raised his brow and said, “I think I understand what you are saying, but with the invitation in hand, I cannot back off now and incur humiliation, can I?”
The latter nodded and said, “Sire, be careful.”
…
The Terran spent the rest of his time sitting under the pavilion with the jade token in his hand. He was calmly comprehending the insights of Dao that he was perceiving from the surroundings. The process gave a boost to his cultivation like anything else.
The time of the banquet arrived and then a portal appeared before him. The envoy from who came to give him the Jade Card appeared before him and said, “Human, it is time.”
Shi Lang stood up from his position and said, “After you, Envoy.”
The lady turned around indifferently and walked back inside the portal. Shi Lang followed her, and on the other side of the portal he found himself standing in front of a palace.
The palace seemed to have been made up of Dao Runes. The Envoy looked at Shi Lang, she was evaluating him. The Terran didn’t find things out of the ordinary and looked back at the Envoy, as he said, “Shall we proceed or are we waiting for the other attendees?”
The lady gestured him to follow her, and Shi Lang nodded calmly. They walked up the stairs that led to the entrance of the palace. Shi Lang counted them, and he sensed a faint pressure applying against his shoulders. It wasn’t anything strong, however, the way it caused Shi Lang’s killing intent to boil, that was something new.
The Terran smirked and he snorted slightly as he reined in his killing intent. The fundament was simple, it is my intent, how can it go rampant without my will?
After climbing ninety nine stairs he stood before the entrance where he noticed a stele erected before the entrance. The envoy said, “The attendees have to carve their name on this stele if they wish to gain entry. Otherwise they will be disqualified.”
Shi Lang hummed and asked, “Is it right for me to assume that disqualification means extermination of all the sages of that particular race?”
The envoy nodded and Shi Lang stepped up to stand before the stele and then he raised his finger to touch the stele. He raised his brow, because this stone was hard, it was probably the hardest that he has ever seen. However, he was not worried about that, he spotted around twelve thousand names written on this six feet tall and four feet wide stele.
He concentrated his sword intent and moved his finger. Although he didn’t unleash the most intense intent but once he was able to leave a deep scratch, he carved his entire name with the race beside it just like the others have done.
Then the envoy took him around the stele and the entrance of the palace door. Shi Lang entered and then followed the envoy, who was scrutinizing him from the first moment till they reached the banquet hall after following a lot of winding corridors. Although Shi Lang didn’t use his ability to scan the palace, he was still mapping the place mentally and wouldn’t get lost even if he was told to leave.
As he came to stand inside the huge hall, he sensed many senses rushing over to check him. Some even held aggression in them and Shi Lang snorted as he shrugged them all off. Then he looked around and found that all the creatures were sitting on tables along with an Envoy.
Shi Lang found an empty table and then asked, “Shall we sit there?”
The envoy nodded and they moved over to an empty table. Shi Lang pulled a chair for the envoy before he sat down. He looked around the place and found Nishan of the Sun Archer race sitting among the crowd. The Jewel eyed race people were also there, but it wasn’t the person he knew.
Suddenly, someone said, “I didn’t expect that the human weaklings.”
Shi Lang looked for the source of this voice and he found himself staring at a huge demi-human that had a head of a bull. He watched the creature for a few minutes and then he said, “I didn’t expect that cattle could speak. I wonder if your meat will make a good steak in my kitchen.”
His retort was unexpected and it was shocking to the entire gathering. None expected him to talk like this. The Envoy beside Shi Lang was also surprised. The bull was shocked and asked, “What did you say?”
Shi Lang replied, “Whatever I said, can wait till the tournament begins. Don’t try to act almighty when you can’t even understand what this place is. If you have a death wish, hold it in till the tournament, don’t drag your race along with you.”
The people understood what he meant by this. Any escalation here meant disrespecting the realm lord. How could that be tolerated? The realm lord wasn’t respected but feared as this guy killed sages for fun.
A calm voice sounded, “Oh, I didn’t expect that someone would be preaching what it means to have a death wish in my palace.”
The people froze and the surroundings were silent. Shi Lang stood up and bowed slightly towards the center of the hall, as he said, “Greetings, Your Excellency.”
The rest of the people also took the queue and stood up to greet the realm lord, who appeared out of nowhere and said, “Have a seat.”
Then this person looked towards Shi Lang and asked, “Are you going to answer my question?”
Shi Lang replied without raising his head, “If you allow me, Your Excellency.”
