Ace Of Terrans - Chapter 1105 1105: The Rules Of The Tournament.
The entire gathering was focused on Shi Lang at the moment. He was directly addressing the Realm Lord, a man who had risen above every other existence among the ten thousand races. Many people wanted to close their eyes as they were expecting a sad ending to this exchange.
Shi Lang bowed and replied, “It is our honor that Your Excellency has called us here. The task to look over at such a big event is not trivial, and Your Excellency has to ensure fairness of the tournament. Thus, if someone tries to provoke others and cause a disruption it is very disrespectful to your status. This is why I had to tell this Daoist to not cause a scene. The dignity of the Realm Lord mustn’t be tarnished.”
The people thought he was sucking up to the Realm Lord, and the latter also asked with an amused expression, “You just said that if he had a death wish you wouldn’t want to be dragged together, do you mean to say that I am a mindless creature who kills people at every other corner?”
Shi Lang shook his head and replied, “I said that because it is only right for Your Excellency to punish those who don’t understand their own stature before you and act out. The strong rule the world, and their strength begets respect. Those who tarnish the dignity of the realm lord, shall pay the price.”
The Realm Lord chuckled, his expression shocked the people and the man asked, “Do you know, for a human you are quite intelligent. Well, have a seat and let us begin the gathering. The rules of the tournament will be announced after you all have eaten the meal.”
Shi Lang thanked the man and sat down in his seat, the people were surprised to see that the cruel realm lord forgave this human.

The servants from the Realm Palace began to pour in and serve the guests with food from various realms, Shi Lang was not a picky eater but he still preferred to eat the stuff from the human realm as it didn’t look too odd. After all, why would he eat some kind of squirming insect or the head of a creature that looked like a human?
His blood circulation had picked up some pace when he found that some of the guests were being served with human remains. This was a direct disrespect to him and his race, but even without raising his head, he could tell that the Realm Lord was paying attention to him. Shi Lang kept eating and drinking wine with a calm expression when the Envoy next to him said, “You can endure this, are you a coward or someone who is laying in wait for an opportunity.”
Shi Lang looked at the lady and just smiled faintly before he went back to his meal. He was sure that the lady was doing all this because she was being commanded by the man on the throne, and she was trying to get a reaction out of him. The Terran seriously thought that these people needed to work on their provocation skills.
After the meal finished, the Realm Lord said, “The tournament this time will be the Life and Death format.”
The people sucked in deep breaths and the Realm Lord said, “It has been thousands of years and the races have grown stagnant. It is time that the arrangement is shuffled and the stronger races get a chance to rise higher through their hard work. The tournament will last for ten years, and during that time, the envoy beside you will inform you when you will be needed to come over. At the same time, your races could witness the tournament from their realms. Does anybody has any questions?”
The people shook their heads and the Realm Lord clapped his hands as he said, “After four rounds, the remaining participants would be the finalists. The final rounds format will be decided later. Okay?”
The people nodded, and the realm lord smiled as he said, “Good, you all will do your best, and to participate in the battle you just need one Sage realm expert from your side to take action. That is all.”
Shi Lang pinched his chin and he began to think what he would do regarding this, there were many sages in the human race now, but they all would not be able to carry the burden of representing the human race in the rounds. As he was thinking, the Realm Lord said, “I will give you all the time of a week before your battles begin. Oh, mind you, the number on your jade token will be the designation. For example, token number one will fight with token number two, and so on. Then after the first round the numbers will rearrange.”
Then the man stood up and walked away. To be honest he was sitting so far away that Shi Lang could not catch a glimpse of him, but inside his mind, the mapping ability has produced an exact model of the people sitting in the gathering. Shi Lang raised the jade token in his hand and saw that his number was second to last. He turned to the envoy and asked, “Shall we go back?”
The Envoy was taken aback and asked, “Don’t you want to know who your opponent will be?”
Shi Lang shrugged and said, “I doubt you would tell me that.”
The Envoy was left speechless, she didn’t expect Shi Lang to find out about her intentions. She felt as if she was being treated like a dishonest creature and said, “It is not that I have any intention towards you, but we envoys are slaves of the realm lord. We cannot tell you anything.”
Shi Lang sneered and said, “Lady Envoy, I apologize but I will not trust anything you have to say until we have moved back to the human realm. Now if you would please do me the favor.”
The envoy sighed and then she guided him out of the palace before opening the portal to get back home.
