Ace Of Terrans - Chapter 1116: The Threat Of Moon Eyes.

Chapter 1116: The Threat Of Moon Eyes.
Shi Lang and the rest of the people watched as Tian Long came back to the stands and sat down beside them. The former asked, “You cool?”
Tian Long looked at him and said, “Fucking I am pissed. That bastard was looking down on me the whole time and you, what about you. Fucking beggar, how dare you give me that disappointed glance?”
Shi Lang smiled and said, “But that look got you to end it all quickly.”
Tian Long snorted and replied, “Fuck you, I will deal with you after we get back.”
…
The round was conducted just like the usual, and when it all ended, the Terrans found out their next rival. The race they had to face off against was called the Moon Eyes. This race was ranked among the top ten of the upper pyramid, however, they were the masters of soul prowess.
It was said that even one gaze from these people could leave your soul shredded. The moon eyes were akin to phantoms without any real body. However, apart from that they also had a few arts that were very tricky to handle. The ability to attack the soul and directly bypassing the physical body or the measures taken to defend against these attacks.
The Moon Eyes race has finished all their battles within a single blow. So, be it a conspiracy or be it a coincident, the human race was now facing against one of the biggest obstacles.
…
When Shi Lang and the rest of the people came back from the arena, they were silent. The gathering hall was filled and they were holding a war meeting, but the tension in the air was almost materializing into something tangible.
Shi Tao stood in the center of the meeting hall and said, “The information from all the sources suggests that this battle would be a steep climb.”
Someone scoffed and said, “Steep? This is basically a vertical wall with no leverage. How can we face the experts of a race whose attack process is unknown to us? Apart from Fairy Moon Jade, and Hall Master Shi, none of us have this much insight to counter a soul attack at that level.”
Shi Lang shook his head and said, “When I told you all to not solely chase the spiritual path to ascend to the sage realm, you all thought I was trying to hold you back. Yes, had we been slower, we might not have been a part of the upper two thousands, but at least our foundation would have been covered. You all are still underestimating the myriad races.”
His words dropped a water if ice water over the people. They realized that they were the ones who should be blamed for this. Prince Beiming said, “What’s done is done, for now focus on the future. Lang, tell us what do you think on this matter?”
Shi Lang shrugged his shoulder and said, “We have to go a bit shady to understand what is really going on here.”
Commander Silence asked, “What do you want?”
Shi Lang sighed and said, “Procurement of specimen, maybe?”
The people were confused but Amelia said, “I second that, the specimen we are looking for would not be an innocent soul anyhow. But where would we find it?”
Shi Tao replied, “I can look for our allies and see if they have any prisoners?”
Shi Lang looked at her and said, “If these allies leak out the news, then I am sure the enemy will come at us with an even stronger attack. Let us not fuel the battle by providing it the fuel of vengeance. Simply conduct investigations on your own, and if you find a clue, deploy the best of the Asura Hall to grab the subject.”
Shi Tao nodded and then said, “I will go and oversee the task right now.”
Shi Lang said to the still confused people, “We will try to fish around the myriad races and try to see if we can find a live member of the Moon Race to learn a few things of how their attacks basically work. The time limit is still one month, so I will also prepare with Fairy Moon Jade. If anyone else wishes to participate, you are welcome to step forward.”
Fairy Moon Jade nodded, and the rest of the people agreed. These two were the strongest when it came to the field of souls, the rest had no reason not to agree.
…
The next day, Fairy Moon Jade was sitting under the pavilion with her zither and she asked, “Lang, what do you think? You have watched them fight in the tournament, did you really not perceive anything else?”
Shi Lang replied calmly before tuning the Zither in his lap and said, “I found that while we depend on music to channel the energy of the soul. These Moon Eyes depend on nothing. They can channel it directly similar to how we punch a target. It is tricky to block the attack because the physical body rather than becoming a shield for us acts like a shackle on us. It prevents us from using the complete potential of our souls.”
Fairy Moon Jade nodded and said, “Over the past three months, I have been noticing such races as well, and I have gathered a few techniques from them. Although the level is low, the basics are somewhat similar. If we can decode this and modify the techniques for human use, I am sure we might would be able to create a better future with soul experts among us.”
Shi Lang smiled and remarked, “Then what are we waiting for? Show me what you have.”
Fairy Moon Jade smiled and the two began to discuss the topic in detail and also experiment simultaneously. Yu Xeidi and Xiao Meng were listening to the discussion on the side because Hao Mei had instructed them to stay beside her. The three of them were full fledged cultivation maniacs.
After listening to the two elders speaking, Hao Mei hummed and asked, “This part where they say, out of the body, is it not similar to manipulating the spiritual energy to refine the herbs?”
A calm remark from her caused Shi Lang and Fairy Moon Jade to freeze and the two of them looked at her with a smile and said, “Good Mei.”
Hao Mei blushed not knowing what she did, and Tian Long appeared from the side, asking, “What caused you all to be so cheerful?”
Yu Xeidi replied, “Your absence, Uncle Long. Come, let us spar, the matters of soul are above me for now. Let me avenge my eldest sister’s lose at your hand.”
