Chapter 358: Chapter 358: Goodbye, Kane? Let’s Team Up!
Outside the secret room, Nel and Bobbi had also heard what was said. Their faces flickered with sudden worry.
They knew all too well: revenge is never easily forgiven.
Kane is now the Lord of Taboos in Restricted Zone No. 53, a complete Demigod-level power.
If he decides to take out his anger on them, forget negotiating—they might not even walk out of Zone 53 alive.
Logan, though, showed no surprise. His face stayed calm.
He took the Resonance totem from Violet’s hands. His five-spiral DNA spun at high speed.
Five streams of Rule energy poured into the totem. Instantly, the soul-rule structure inside was decoded.
He could clearly sense it: this totem truly could pierce through the spatial barrier and connect directly to the Destroyer Temple of Zone 53.
Thinking this, Logan gently patted Violet’s head and smiled. “It’s fine.”
“We have a common enemy ahead. Any old grudges can wait for now.”
“Even if he holds a grudge against the Ancient Beast Clan’s royal family, he’ll still know what matters most.”
“The vanguard of Restricted Zone No. 47 is closing in, and the Devourer Queen is about to break free.”
“So even if he doesn’t want to see us, he will have to.”
Seeing Logan’s firmness in his eyes, Violet’s unease faded almost instantly.
She nodded hard. “Okay, let’s activate it now.”
Logan carefully placed the Resonance totem back into its slot on the stone pedestal.
Violet stepped forward and dropped a few drops of her royal blood on the totem’s tip.
The moment the blood touched the totem, the whole pillar glowed with an eerie blue light.
Countless soul runes rose from the totem and formed a complex teleportation array inside the room.
Violet formed hand seals while pouring 48-star Saint stage energy straight into the totem.
She chanted ancient words, and the contract mark on her brow resonated perfectly with the totem.
The blue light grew stronger. Special-frequency soul waves swept through the array and pierced the Lost World’s spatial barrier, racing straight toward Zone 53.
Through the soul waves, Violet’s voice echoed out:
“Royal blood Violet requests an audience with Kane, Lord of Taboos.”
“I am accompanied by Logan. We bring urgent military intelligence about Restricted Zone No. 47 and Iron-Bone’s betrayal.”
The instant the soul wave was released, a sharp alarm suddenly blared through Eternal Night City.
The sound shattered the city’s silence, echoing into every corner.
Moragas’s projection vanished instantly—he was clearly rushing to the Observation Tower.
Nel and Bobbi sprinted to the room’s entrance, their faces grave as they looked at Logan. “Lord Moragas just sent an emergency message.”
“An energy disturbance has been detected at the lich cemetery border tower.”
“A large-scale vanguard force appears to be moving.”
Bobbi tightened her grip on her spear. Spatial ripples rippled densely around her. “What do we do now?”
“The vanguard from Zone No. 47 is coming faster than we expected.”
Logan stood before the stone table, staring at the glowing Resonance totem.
His gaze remained calm, not a trace of panic.
His five-spiral DNA spun within him, and Predict the Future automatically activated.
The next 60 seconds of possible futures flashed through his mind in a rapid stream.
Slowly, Logan spoke: “Wait.”
“Wait for Kane’s reply.”
“Until he gives his answer, we go nowhere.”
The totem’s eerie blue light kept flashing steadily in the room.
Violet kept pouring energy into it as the soul waves transmitted without pause toward Zone 53.
Violet kept pouring energy into the totem. The soul wave flowed steadily toward Restricted Zone No. 53.
Logan stood by the stone pedestal. His spiritual sense was wide open, scanning for any energy shifts in Eternal Night City.
The earlier alarm was getting faster and louder, meaning the border situation was worse than expected.
Before long, Moragas appeared at the entrance of the secret room, rushing as if his life depended on it.
He looked nothing like his usual calm self. The gray soul fire around him flared wildly. “Things look bad,” he said urgently. “Please come with me to the Observation Tower immediately.”
“What we saw at the border is the main vanguard force from Restricted Zone No. 47.”
Logan nodded slightly, signaling Violet to keep the totem running.
He turned and followed Moragas out of the room. Nel hurried behind him, while Bobbi stayed behind to keep watch.
The three of them rushed up the bone stairs and quickly reached the top of the Central Dragon Tower.
This was Eternal Night City’s Observation Tower, built entirely from a single piece of transparent soul crystal.
From here, they could see across the Lost World’s spatial barrier, watching the borders of the forbidden zones hundreds of miles away.
In the center of the observation deck sat a giant Spirit Sky Eye crystal. Right now, it projected the live view of the border.
On the screen, where Restricted Zone No. 47 met the Neutral Zone, three black vortices were slowly advancing.
Each one radiated the terrifying aura of a complete Demigod-stage. Wherever they passed, all life was completely swallowed, leaving behind dense, countless holes in the ground where living things used to be.
Moragas spoke with a heavy voice, pointing at the three vortices. “The one on the far left is the Spirit Eater. It devours all spiritual energy.”
“The gray mist in the middle is a Soul-Devourer. It specializes in eating souls.”
“The one on the right can tear through space. It is a Space-Ripper, skilled at devouring space itself.”
“All three are at the complete Demigod stage. Their power equals Kane at his peak.”
Logan’s gaze locked onto the three vortices. His five-spiral DNA spun at high speed, analyzing their energy structure.
He could clearly sense that all three shared the same source. He felt a faint rule resonance between them. “What connects them?” he asked.
Moragas’s soul fire flared even higher, his voice trembling with fear. “These three vanguards were split from the original Devourer using its own essence.”
“They can devour each other and merge. If they consume Kane’s Destroyer Rules, they will birth a Super-Demigod, a being beyond the Demigod stage.”
“At their current speed, they will reach the border of Restricted Zone No. 53 within seven days.”
Nel stood by the side, her fingers flying over her device as she recorded data. Her fingertips felt cold.
She knew the truth: three complete Demigods, plus the potential for them to merge into a Super-Demigod, was a terrible situation.
Even with Kane, Moragas, and Logan fighting together, victory was not guaranteed. Add the risk of Iron-Bone Grand Elder’s internal rebellion, and the odds looked bleak.
Logan’s eyes remained calm. His fingers tapped lightly on the edge of the observation deck.
He was calculating the timeline. The lunar eclipse would happen in three days. That was when Iron-Bone would launch the rebellion.
If the vanguards arrived in seven days, the rebellion would collide with the invasion. Zone 53 would be attacked from both sides and inevitably collapse.
Once Zone 53 fell, the Devourers would gain the Destroyer Rules. Their next target would be Pinocchini.
He didn’t have much time left.
Just then, the communication crystal in the Observation Tower suddenly lit up.
Bobbi, who was guarding the embassy, sent an urgent message: the Resonance totem had received a response.
Logan turned instantly and ran toward the embassy.
Moragas and Nel followed close behind. Their footsteps were hurried and loud.
When they returned to the underground secret room, the light from the Resonance totem had turned deep purple.
A cold mind wave shot out from the totem, completely emotionless.
Then, Kane’s voice echoed through the room, filled with clear anger. “Daughter of a traitor, do you dare contact me?”
Violet’s body trembled slightly. She replied immediately: “Kane, I have undeniable proof that the Iron-Bone Grand Elder is betraying us.”
“He has colluded with Restricted Zone No. 47. He plans to launch a rebellion during the lunar eclipse in three days and let the vanguard forces enter.”
“The three Demigod vanguards of the Devourers are already on their way. They will reach the border within seven days. The seal is about to break.”
The other end of the totem went silent for a long time, offering no reply.
Violet felt a wave of nervousness, her grip on the totem tightening slightly.
Logan nodded gently at her, signaling her not to panic.
About ten minutes later, Kane’s voice returned. It sounded calmer than before. “Thirty minutes from now, Broken Canyon. Only three of you may come.”
“Try any tricks, and you will be executed on the spot.”
As soon as the words faded, the light from the totem suddenly went out. The connection was broken.
Violet let out a long breath, finally relaxing her tense body.
She turned to Logan, her eyes full of excitement. “Master, Kane is willing to meet.”
Bobbi grinned, tightening her grip on her spear. “Great! Should we leave right now?”
Moragas stepped forward, a look of worry on his face. “Broken Canyon is an absolute forbidden zone within Restricted Zone No. 53.”
“It is filled with Destroyer Rule traps laid by Kane. It is extremely dangerous.”
“Shall I order the Undead Legion to wait in reserve around the canyon?”
Logan shook his head slightly, his gaze fixed on the direction of Restricted Zone No. 53.
He could clearly sense that the Destroyer Rule aura coming from Broken Canyon was far stronger than he had imagined.
Yet, he felt no fear. Instead, he felt the thrill of facing a worthy opponent. “No need. Just take Violet and Nel with me.”
“Bobbi, stay in Eternal Night City with Moragas to guard the rear.”
“If the vanguards from Zone 47 show any signs of moving, send word to me immediately.”
Although Bobbi was a bit reluctant, she bowed and accepted the order.
Moragas immediately pulled out a gray crystal and handed it to Logan. “This is a detailed map of Broken Canyon. It marks all the space cracks and rule traps.”
“I have also prepared a secret teleportation阵 that can take you directly to the canyon’s edge, bypassing border patrols.”
Logan took the crystal and stored it in his storage space.
He looked up at the sky. Three purple moons were already forming faint halos. Signs of the lunar eclipse were becoming increasingly clear.
Time was running out. He had to reach an agreement with Kane as soon as possible.
Only by joining forces could they survive the coming crisis.
Nel had already walked out of the secret room to prepare their departure gear.
Violet took a deep breath, clutching the Ancient Beast Clan totem at her waist. Her eyes were filled with determination.
No matter if it was Kane’s anger or unknown dangers waiting ahead, she would stand firmly by Logan’s side.
Logan stepped out of the room. The five-colored light around his body flickered softly as he reined in all his emotions.
This negotiation with a Demigod would determine the fate of the entire Lost World.
He had to win.
