Apocalypse: the Most Ruthless Person - Chapter 86 - 81: Welcome, New Member

Chapter 86: Chapter 81: Welcome, New Member
“One hundred and sixty-seven is heavy enough! Xinyu and Xiaoshan together aren’t even close…”
Zhang Su rubbed his forehead.
“I’m ninety-four.”
“I’m eighty-eight…”
The two women very openly revealed their weights since they were slim, they talked about it quite freely.
“Haha, one hundred and eighty-two, Sister Tan, the two sisters combined are almost the same as you!”
Lu Yubo calculated carelessly.
Tan Huajun said awkwardly, “Dieting, dieting, I must need to lose weight.”
A wall over two meters high is already an insurmountable barrier for zombies who haven’t learned to stack. They could only be stuck in the alley, stretching their hands, gnashing their teeth, without being able to do anything about the people on the wall.
“Hey, Bozai, your chance to shine is here!”
Zhang Su stepped over the anti-climbing spikes, pointing at two female zombies more than ten meters away, “See them? Go down and take care of them.”
Lu Yubo studied the zombies closely. Two female zombies were half tilting their heads, sniffing out for the scent of human presence.
“No problem, Brother Su, watch me!”
Then he threw his backpack next to the zombies, the thud of it hitting the ground immediately attracted the zombies’ attention, they didn’t notice there was another person jumping into the district.
Splat.
Lu Yubo swiftly took care of the first one, stepped back and pulled out the food sampler to stab the zombie lunging at him, but unexpectedly, such a simple move wasn’t without an accident!
He stepped forward, overly excited and engaged, forgetting there was a bag under his feet. He was tripped by the bag and fell forward uncontrollably!
“Oh sh*t!”
Even someone as careless as Lu Yubo couldn’t help but feel a jolt of panic.
Thud.
The man and the zombie fell to the ground simultaneously, and the zombie failed to attack due to falling backwards.
Lu Yubo bounced up like a spring, that tuft of yellow hair standing on end from fear, and he stabbed the zombie’s head with the food sampler.
The zombie wasn’t as quick as Lu Yubo and was pierced through the head on the spot, its movements ceased.
“You doing things like this, it makes people uneasy!”
Hearing a voice, Lu Yubo turned around and saw Zhang Su already standing behind him with an axe in hand, feeling a warmth in his heart, he picked up his backpack and said, “Brother Shuo must be blaming me for not following his words to the end, wanted to joke with me, Brother Su, sorry about that.”
Zhang Su didn’t say much, after everyone climbed down from the wall, he led them to hide at the base of a building.
He peeked around a few times, knowing Tan Huajun’s home was in building seven, but before he could figure out the layout of the district, they encountered an unexpected situation. He was unsure about the location and asked Tan Huajun, “Old Tan, which way do we go?”
Tan Huajun looked tense, after a brief thought she pointed a direction, saying, “This way works, go forward past one building and turn, then through another building to reach there, the other way also works.”
Zhang Su looked at the directions pointed out by Tan Huajun, not sensing any difference between them, suddenly turned to Zheng Xinyu and said, “Xinyu, pick a route.”
“Huh?”
Zheng Xinyu was confused, and so were the others.
“What huh? Just pick one when I say so!” Zhang Su glared at the bewildered Zheng Xinyu.
Faced with a choice you don’t know how to make, of course, let someone with Good Fortune decide!
“Then, I’ll go… this route!”
Zheng Xinyu pointed ahead, choosing the first option given by Tan Huajun.
“Let’s go!”
Zhang Su decisively led the group forward without any hesitation.
They didn’t know about the other path, but the route Zheng Xinyu chose indeed had no issue, they only encountered two zombies along the way and easily dealt with them.
The five reached the second unit of building seven, spotting a shattered corpse of someone who jumped to their death, their moods weighed heavily.
They arrived outside the unit door, the iron gate covered in blood stains with broken glass, a few chewed-up corpses strewn by the railing, the grisly death scenes were difficult to look at, the brutal sight feeling a hundred times more real than the movies.
“Ugh.”
Tan Huajun thought she had gotten used to such scenes, but unexpectedly still struggled to bear it, the hot noodle soup from earlier rising to her throat.
Zhong Xiaoshan had already anticipated this reaction, swiftly stuffing some chewing gum into Tan Huajun’s mouth!
The strong mint flavor immediately filled her mouth, refreshing her mind while stopping the urge to vomit.
Tan Huajun was choked with tears, nodding repeatedly in gratitude.
On an unexpectedly short path, Zhang Su and the others didn’t know they had already been spotted.
“Don’t make any noise!”
Zhang Su advised cautiously, listening intently, carefully pulling open the damaged unit door to peer inside. With his hearing, he detected no sound, ensuring the inside of the building unit was at least safe.
“The real challenge is here, everyone.”
Reaching the staircase, Zhang Su looked at the group oddly and spoke quietly.
“Ah…”
Zheng Xinyu was the first to sigh, glancing upward, helplessly pursing her lips.
“Ha ha, twenty-three floors, it’s not that bad, at least it’s not at the top.” Zhong Xiaoshan comforted everyone, somewhat reminiscent of Ah Q.
Phoenix International District is of lower grade compared to Sheng Qin Home, the buildings’ floors remain unevenly planned, though generally all are over thirty floors. Tan Huajun lives on the twenty-third floor, and without an elevator, leaves a daunting staircase climb.
Tan Huajun felt again that her home was so close yet so far…
With no other option, under Zhang Su’s lead, they climbed up floor by floor. The entire process differed from everyone’s predictions, having to cautiously listen for sounds on each floor prevented a zombie from suddenly jumping out, the pace was considerably slow.
