Apocalypse: the Most Ruthless Person - Chapter 91 - 83: Not Bad at All!

Chapter 91: Chapter 83: Not Bad at All!
“Don’t rush!”
Brother Wu interrupted the man speaking, then shone his flashlight on Tan Huajun’s face, laughing, “Sister Pang, I see you’ve kept your skin nice and tender, it’s chilly out, why not warm up with us brothers? We can give you an extra meal or two, how about it?”
“Oh my, Brother Wu, your taste is really heavy, but I’m really hungry, I could accept, haha.”
“You two… Master Xin said not to do such things, only take supplies, are you crazy?”
Someone objected.
“In Building Five, he’s Master Xin of the Salvation Society, outside of Building Five, he’s nothing, we do it, he wouldn’t know, unless any of you plan on tattling?” Brother Wu obviously had a rebellious streak, showing no respect for that Master Xin.
“You guys do it, I’m not doing it anyway!”
“Alright, alright, you just go play on your own! Come on, Sister Pang?”
Brother Wu looked at Tan Huajun again.
Tan Huajun appeared to be shivering with cold, her heart frozen as she realized what the world outside had become upon encountering these guys.
The post-apocalyptic world had magnified the ugliness in human nature a thousand-fold, creating an outlet for once timid villains to act brazenly, becoming irrepressible without constraints.
At first, she thought Zhang Su, who killed Ma Xuechuo, was terrifying, but after meeting these people, she understood what true evil looked like.
Zhang Su was merely defending himself after being attacked, while these people were true opportunistic bastards exploiting the chaos.
“I-I’ll give you all my stuff, let me go, okay?”
Tan Huajun pointed to the corner.
Brother Wu frowned, displeased, then smiled, “All right! But… Sister Pang, are you sure there’s no one else in this room?”
With one sentence, the atmosphere inside the room instantly froze.
“No, no one at all!” Tan Huajun responded nervously.
Brother Wu illuminated Tan Huajun’s face with his flashlight, catching her expression completely, sneering as he took steps towards her, shaking the machete in his hand.
Clink.
Suddenly, a crisp sound echoed from the bathroom.
“Get out!”
Brother Wu and his gang immediately turned to look at the bathroom; several flashlight beams simultaneously shone on the glass door.
Tan Huajun’s heart tightened; she glanced behind her, realizing Zhang Su wasn’t making any moves, unsure of what to do next.
“Come out yourself, or we’ll drag you out and throw you downstairs!”
Brother Wu glared viciously at the bathroom, yelling.
“Don’t, don’t be like that.”
Unexpectedly, a delicate voice sounded, followed by the glass door slowly opening, revealing a timid and lovely figure in the flashlight beams.
Brother Wu and his men were momentarily stunned.
“Well, I’ll be darned, a young lady, hahaha, come here, are you holding that stick to massage my back?”
Brother Wu showed a lecherous smile, beckoning Zheng Xinyu over, almost drooling.
“Brother also has a big stick, want to play?”
“This girl is exciting.”
“Yeah, she’s beautiful.”
The others were restless, even the one who previously refused to warm up with Tan Huajun seemed tempted.
Clearly, their prior decorum only stemmed from Tan Huajun’s lack of beauty; she was even quite off-putting, making it hard to act ruthlessly, but upon seeing Zheng Xinyu, his resolve crumbled.
“Don’t be afraid, girl, follow us and you’ll live well, okay?”
Brother Wu looked at Zheng Xinyu approaching, her tender skin looked like it could drip water.
“But, what about the big brothers with you?”
Zheng Xinyu pointed cautiously at the other flashlight beams.
“Little girl is sharp, even knew at a young age the game of killing two peaches to kill three soldiers, hehe, don’t worry, we won’t fight, once Brother Wu is done, it’ll be our turn, hehe!”
A lecherous voice rang out, followed by a slobbering sound.
Brother Wu knew he couldn’t monopolize the beauty, laughed, “Girl, in this world, I alone can’t protect you, get along with these brothers, in case of accidents, there’ll be others to protect you, right?”
Clap, clap.
At that moment, clapping sounded.
“Well said, really well said, after a week you’ve become so insightful, I take it you weren’t good people before, huh?”
Zhang Su’s figure slowly emerged from the bedroom, appearing behind Tan Huajun.
Women naturally made men lower their guard, but the appearance of a man instantly heightened their alertness to the maximum.
“Damn you filthy slut, you said they all left, lied to us, you’re dead today!”
Brother Wu cursed Tan Huajun, knowing he was fooled but remained calm, analyzing that within these five, only two were men, not a cause for concern.
“There’s another man and woman, come out yourself, I’m not joking, if I catch you, I’ll throw you downstairs, it’s over twenty floors here, you’ll be smashed to pieces!”
In their view, women were equivalent to the useless in battle.
“Stop shining those crappy flashlights everywhere, let’s talk properly, you might still have a chance, otherwise you won’t exit this door today!”
Zhang Su mildly disliked the light in his face but wasn’t bothered.
“Hahaha, we won’t exit this door, want to hear yourself, dimwit?”
Brother Wu sneered, shaking the machete.
“He means themselves, haha, a bunch of fools!”
The others refused to back down, raising their fruit knives, apparently weapons issued by that fruit-seller Master Xin.
“Oh ho ho.” Zhang Su chuckled coldly, raising a hand to shield the strong light, disdainfully saying, “A group of brutes showing off in front of women, do you think you’re impressive? Still talking about living well, protecting them, you really have skills, really impressive!”
Tan Huajun heard Zhang Su’s voice fall, and immediately became so nervous that even her toes were clenched, because she knew something was about to happen, and it would definitely be bloody!
As expected, just as Zhang Su finished saying “truly impressive,” Zheng Xinyu, who was closest to the four approaching, took the lead in attacking.
The few of them only thought she was a timid little sheep, not even bothering to keep an eye on her, never imagining she was a ferocious little she-leopard!
And a she-leopard that only bites without making a sound!
Without a moment’s hesitation or concern, Zheng Xinyu kicked toward the man’s crotch beside her.
Smack.
A strange thud came from the man’s crotch.
“Aow~~~.”
A sharp cry squeezed out from the man’s throat, and the fruit knife in his hand clattered to the ground. But before he could cover his crotch, he saw a flash of light streak past the corner of his eye.
Dong!
A baseball bat struck the man’s head with precision, the swing flowing seamlessly.
She remembered Zhang Su’s words — aim to kill!
When there’s no need to worry about the level of harm, one can fight with abandon.
Bang.
The heavy blow brought the man down, only allowing him to let out a muffled groan.
“Damn it, you’re courting death!”
The sudden crisis made the other three panic, hurling vicious words but none dared to act.
One person instinctively stepped back, but suddenly felt a sharp pain in his back and a warmth in his chest. Looking down, he discovered a piece of metal had grown out of his chest, like Kimimaro’s Blood Limit…
“Die! Bastard!”
The cold voice was like a death spirit whispering in his ear.
Lu Yubo yanked the grain sampling tool out of the man, then kicked him hard.
The man felt a surge of blood in his chest and could hardly muster the strength to turn around and see what his killer looked like, collapsing to the ground with a few twitches before expiring.
“Mur… Murder, you killed…”
Clang.
The perverted voice was cut off before it could finish, as he clutched the back of his head, blood trickling through his fingers. He struggled to turn around to take a glance at his assailant, only to be struck again, toppling aside with his fate unknown.
Within ten short seconds, of the four attackers, only Brother Wu was left standing bewildered in the living room center, the beam of his flashlight trembling, along with the violently shaking machete.
“You guys, don’t come closer, I’m not a pushover like them, I’ll hack you to death!”
There was no way Zhang Su and his group could be intimidated by him, five people closed in from three directions.
As they say, speak the harshest words, but do the most cowardly deeds; no matter how strong the words, in the face of force, they seem pale.
When Brother Wu saw Zhang Su draw out the kukri knife, the thick blade made his heart race, just as a wave of strong blood scent hit his nose, shattering his last psychological defense.
Clang.
He directly threw the shoddy machete in his hand to the ground, kneeling down with a thud.
“Please spare my life, everyone, we were forced to do this, we didn’t want to either!”
Brother Wu continuously begged for mercy, as sincerely as he could be.
But it was precisely this gesture that sent a chill through Zhang Su’s heart!
In the morning, Ma Xuechuo had also knelt to beg for mercy, only to swing a pry bar at him the next moment.
His eyes reddened with anger, wanting to step forward and end this scumbag with one slash, but rationality still restrained his violent urges.
“Bozai, go get some plastic ties from the right side of that Adidas bag to bind these dogs’ hands and feet! Oh, and give that dead guy’s head a good whack, don’t let him come back to life!”
Zhang Su gave detailed instructions.
“Got it!” Lu Yubo replied and strode over with the grain sampling tool toward the one he had taken down.
Soon, Brother Wu was bound hand and foot, crouching in the corner, completely incapable of resistance, but even if he were armed, after witnessing Zhang Su and his crew’s ruthlessness, he wouldn’t dare to resist even if you lent him courage…
“Speak, how did you discover us? Dare to lie and I’ll throw you down!”
Zhang Su was peeved, having been disturbed from half-asleep, who wouldn’t be grumpy.
Brother Wu said they’d be thrown down, but just wanted to scare people, yet he felt that the man across from him wasn’t scaring him, he was stating a fact.
“I’ll talk, I’ll talk!”
Brother Wu quickly confessed, “This afternoon a lookout caught sight of a few sneaking, oh no, a few running into this building, and reported it to Master Xin, knowing you all were carrying big bags, he arranged for us to come at night… to come take it.”
“A lookout?” Zhang Su looked puzzledly at Tan Huajun, asking, “Old Tan, where’s Building 5?”
Tan Huajun pointed in the northeast direction, saying, “Right across obliquely, that one.”
“No, no.” Brother Wu shook his head frantically from the ground, “Most survivors live in Building 5, but the lookout post spotting you isn’t there, it’s in Building 6.”
“Building 6? Building 6 is just back here.”
Tan Huajun guided toward the south, visible from the bathroom.
Zhang Su was deep in thought, earlier he considered making their movements even more secretive, like relocating at night, but unfortunately yesterday’s sudden events disrupted all plans, leading to their discovery despite expectations.
“Seems this Salvation Society of yours has got some skills, being able to freely move through several apartment buildings?”
“Not really… Only cleared a unit in Building 6. We went to clear a unit in Building 3 yesterday, lost a brother so halted the operation. Brother, let me go back, I won’t reveal your identities, just say they were killed by zombies, is that okay?”
Brother Wu persistently pleaded for himself.
“Hey, I’m not dead, Wu, you heartless bastard, trying to get us all killed!”
A man, who’d been lying down pretending to be dead after having his head struck by Zhong Xiaoshan’s wrench, suddenly spoke, startling everyone.
He had no choice but to speak; if Wu continued talking, he’d be doomed whether he was dead or not…
