Apocalypse: the Most Ruthless Person - Chapter 92 - 84: Can’t Win, Simply Can’t Win

Chapter 92: Chapter 84: Can’t Win, Simply Can’t Win
“What the hell are you yelling for?” Brother Wu clearly wasn’t an easygoing person and immediately retorted, “Your brain’s been blown open, yet you think someone can patch you up? You’re doomed no matter where you go—damned fool.”
The man who was shot in the head was still in a daze, having not yet seen who attacked him, because Zhong Xiaoshan stood hidden in the shadows all this time…
Squinting to ease the dizziness, he groaned, “Hmph, even if I’m dying, I’m taking you down with me! We all heard earlier, the first one to suggest warming up was him, we never wanted to do those filthy things!”
Brother Wu stiffened upon hearing the man’s accusation; it was undeniable evidence of his guilt. He hurriedly defended himself, “Bullshit, when I said ’warming up,’ I meant having a drink! Where’s your mind wandering to? The real filth is you guys!”
“You, hiss, hiss… don’t believe his crap.”
At that moment, the guy who was kicked in the groin awoke, struggling to move, emitting sharp gasps but didn’t forget to incriminate Brother Wu.
“By the second day of the zombie outbreak, he forced himself on a neighbor. He told us himself that the girl was only a high schooler, said she’d been bitten by a zombie, and that not messing around would be a waste, cough cough!”
“Bullshit, I was just talking off the top of my head! If she’d really been bitten by a zombie, would I have dared touch her? And you believe that—total morons!”
Brother Wu desperately refuted.
Zhang Su shook his flashlight, feeling disinterested, and said, “None of you three are any good; couldn’t care less to ask more. I’m giving you a chance for a dog-eat-dog fight!”
With that, Zhang Su beckoned his group to retreat, then pulled out one of their fruit knives as the three looked bewildered.
Thud.
Zhang Su stabbed the fruit knife into the coffee table, then said, “Fight for your survival!”
He stepped back a few paces, shining his flashlight on the knife on the table.
Brother Wu and the others instantly understood Zhang Su’s intent—he wanted them to kill each other!
“Guys, let’s not fall for this trick!”
Brother Wu’s eyes darted around as he hurriedly began to calm the two on the ground.
Zhang Su sneered, “Do you really think you can fight us? It’s said that the fight of cornered beasts is especially fierce; I don’t mind playing with you cornered beasts!”
With those words, Zhang Su’s group revealed their weapons.
Khukri knife, baseball bat, iron plate hand, grain sampler, and the most outlandish—a caliper…
To let them have a clear view, Zheng Xinyu directed everyone to aim their flashlights at the ceiling, instantly brightening the living room to a new level.
The man with the head injury finally got his first clear look at who attacked him.
It was actually a stunning young housewife?
The sky was falling.
Who said women don’t have fighting power?
One kicks groin, one shoots head—how’s that not fighting power?
Plus, what’s that the hefty woman is holding? A lethal hoe…
Well-equipped, formidable power, they had no idea where this group sprang from, utterly absurd.
Gulp.
The three simultaneously swallowed nervously; they couldn’t win, whether cornered beasts or mad beasts, they simply couldn’t win.
“Guys, we’re not cowards here, even if it means dying, we must fight the enemy, don’t turn your weapons on your own, right?”
Brother Wu spoke eloquently, continuing to persuade, but his gaze was already fixed on the fruit knife on the coffee table.
“Get lost! Always full of crap, believing you makes me the fool!”
The man kicked in the groin angrily cursed, suddenly bursting with surprising energy, somehow mustering the strength, and before the man with the head injury could react, he stood up. Then he made a leap, knocking into Brother Wu, sending him staggering, and rolled on the floor, reaching the coffee table first.
“Like to roll, huh? You think you can compete with me—you lost your nuts, you’ll be a eunuch for life!”
Obviously, Brother Wu was not easy to deal with. Before the kicked man could grab the fruit knife with his bound hands, Brother Wu made a sudden leap and stomped towards him.
The kicked man was startled, knowing that if Brother Wu stomped him hard, even his dinner from yesterday might come up!
He quickly scrambled up, falling onto the sofa. Though not painful, the softness made it hard to get up, watching anxiously as Brother Wu already pulled out the knife and began cutting the wrist restraints.
Ankle restraints limited his movement, but once he freed his hands, everything else was easy!
“Damn you, Wu, I’ll fight you to the death!”
Unexpectedly, the man who was shot in the head stood up with a strong kick, bending his body with hands still tied behind his back, resembling a human projectile charging at Brother Wu.
“Ah! You bastard, I’ll kill you.”
Brother Wu got hit right in the moment, crashing heavily onto the ground, feeling his insides churn, and the fruit knife in hand flew away.
In an instant, the three were wrestling together.
“Brother Su… Isn’t this a bit inappropriate?”
Tan Huajun asked stiffly.
“Think about what they were planning earlier, you’ll see it’s not inappropriate at all.”
Zhang Su knew how tough it was for a strictly by-the-books middle-aged woman to adapt to the current world, but Tan Huajun’s next words nearly made him bite his tongue.
“I mean, if they make such a commotion, wouldn’t it catch Zhang Xin’s attention and cause trouble?”
Tan Huajun pointed towards the window.
Zhang Su thought it made perfect sense and said to Lu Yubo, “Make them keep it down.”
Lu Yubo understood, pointing the sharp grain sampler forward and said, “Hey, if you’re gonna fight, do it properly. If you keep yelling, I’ll stab you guys dead!”
The three men, Brother Wu included, were quite obedient and immediately lowered their voices, but the intensity remained undiminished. Since their zipties weren’t undone, their positions were extremely twisted, leaving them with very few offensive moves to use, even resorting to their teeth.
A buzz-cut young man bit off a piece of Brother Wu’s ear, blood streaming down half his face, primitive and savage.
However, the injury triggered Brother Wu’s inner potential, and with a low growl, he forcibly broke the ziptie binding his ankles.
“Hahaha.”
Brother Wu couldn’t help but let out a sneer. The ways he could attack with his legs weren’t as effective as with his hands, but being able to move freely, he could completely crush the other two!
The two “thugs” were instantly dumbfounded, but before they could think of a countermeasure, each took a kick.
Brother Wu kicked them to the ground, then proceeded to unleash a barrage of vicious kicks and stomps, the thumping sounds like a punching bag being hit in a gym, full of power and rhythm.
A minute or so passed, and seeing that the two men had nearly lost the ability to resist, Brother Wu hobbled over to the fruit knife, picked it up, cut the zipties on his wrists, then walked silently back to the two men, stabbing each one once.
Blood flowed from their bodies, covering the ground, making Tan Huajun frown deeply. This was her home; even though she knew they wouldn’t stay, several people had died after all, and it inevitably felt off.
“Hehehe, in the end, I still won!”
After dealing with the two men, Brother Wu discarded the fruit knife, struggled to stand up straight, turned to Zhang Su and company, and showed a ghastly smile, his wounded and blood-stained face making him look even more terrifying.
He staggered towards Zhang Su and the others.
Zheng Xinyu and the other women found Brother Wu at that moment scarier than zombies, and even Lu Yubo furrowed his brow slightly. In that brief time just now, he’d seen what true desperation looked like; it was a completely different league from the usual street brawls!
Zhang Su’s face was expressionless, quietly watching Brother Wu, not backing down because of the other man’s bloody appearance.
As Brother Wu approached, the three women involuntarily took a step back.
Lu Yubo raised the grain sampler and warned, “Stop!”
Brother Wu paid no mind, stopping only when the tip of the grain sampler pressed against his chest, looking at Zhang Su with a slight smirk, “Brother, are you satisfied with this result?”
“Not bad at all.”
Zhang Su showed an enigmatic smile.
The four people around him were all shocked. How could it be “not bad at all”?
Not understanding the meaning behind “not bad at all,” Brother Wu raised his weak arm and pointed towards the door, “Step aside.”
Zhang Su shook his head, “No.”
“You!” Brother Wu’s brow furrowed, “Are you going back on your word?”
“How am I going back on my word?”
Zhang Su retorted, “First, I fulfilled your dog-eat-dog wish, right? Then… I said earlier that if you negotiate properly, there’s a way out; otherwise, you won’t make it past this door!”
“Do you think what you did counts as negotiating properly?”
Zhang Su’s gaze was fierce as he looked at Brother Wu.
Brother Wu’s face froze; he’d forgotten the earlier conversation, never expecting Zhang Su to hold him to it now.
“This, I, uh…”
“You want to leave, right? I’ll give you another chance?”
Zhang Su asked.
Brother Wu nodded hastily, “Of course I do!”
“Wait a moment!” With that, Zhang Su made a fist and looked at Lu Yubo, “Come on, Bozai, rock-paper-scissors.”
“Ah? Oh…”
Lu Yubo, not understanding, cooperated by throwing scissors.
“Damn it, playing scissors, annoying!”
Zhang Su, showing a palm, glared at Lu Yubo in annoyance.
Lu Yubo, gesturing “peace,” grimaced, “Brother Su, I, uh, this… Want to do it again, I’ll play rock.”
“Go play rock somewhere else!”
Zhang Su waved his hand and looked at the confused Brother Wu, “Come on, I’m giving you a fair duel opportunity!”
“Haha… uh.”
Lu Yubo, understanding Zhang Su’s actions, couldn’t help but laugh, but quickly covered his mouth, realizing it was inappropriate.
A fair duel?
Zheng Xinyu and the others looked at the battered, bloodstained, and obviously on his last legs Brother Wu, then at the clean, relaxed, and full of energy Zhang Su, feeling he truly sullied the word “fair.”
“Don’t just stand there, pick up the fruit knife and attack me, give me a chance to be caught off guard, come on!”
Zhang Su lightly tapped his finger on the knife sheath, nodding towards the fruit knife on the ground.
Brother Wu’s expression was worse than if he’d lost a loved one; though he hadn’t seen Zhang Su in action, even thinking with his knees he knew the guy was no easy feat. Even in top shape, he might not win, let alone in his current state?
Silently, he walked over, picked up the fruit knife, and looked towards Zhang Su, “I, Wu Daqiang, accept this fate today, but let me clear my name before I die. I never forcibly took that female high school student; it was just something I said entering the Salvation Society!”
Zhang Su furrowed his brow, took a step back, seriously watching Wu Daqiang. Then, after a moment, he kicked the knife in Wu’s hand flying and pointed to the door, “Off you go.”
Wu Daqiang’s eyes lit up, joy at surviving this almost made him dizzy, “R-really?”
“Don’t celebrate too early; with how you look now, you’d be eaten by zombies once you step outside this unit, making it unnecessary for me to lay a hand on you.”
Zhang Su shrugged and said.
