Armipotent - Chapter 2014: Death Arena

Chapter 2014: Death Arena
Tang Shaoyang and Vandir were not inexperienced to not notice Ouyang Biya’s move. She certainly turned the sky into a beautiful sky with her bloody cherry blossoms.
Tang Shaoyang was about to stop Ouyang Biya himself, but Vandir’s hand reached him.
“Let me handle this, Boss!”
It was not an empty word as the skeleton flew fifty meters above the ground. The moment he stopped, black energy burst forth from his cloak. The black energy spread out in the air, covering Tang Shaoyang and his Undead. His black energy looked like a cloak that sheltered everything below him.
Vandir did not try to protect his Boss or his summons. He knew Tang Shaoyang and his undead didn’t need his protection. They were good on their own, but he still did it for his personal reasons.
“If you want to kill us with your hidden move, you should do it quietly.”
His figure slowly submerged into his own energy and disappeared from the naked eye. There was no way Ouyang Biya could find him in the sea of energy. The skeleton truly blended in with its own energy. It didn’t matter because Ouyang Biya finished her move.
“DIE!”
The sword launched down from the flower, raining down on the black cloak. The sword entered the black cloud, but it did not go through. As if the black was absorbing the swords. The swords came down nonstop like rain, but all the same, all the swords were absorbed by Vandir’s black cloud.
The Rain of Blood Blossom continued for another two minutes, yet it did not cause any damage. The sword stopped raining down, and the bloody cherry blossom disappeared.
Vandir retracted his black cloud and revealed his figure. The Death King slowly descended. The moment he landed on the ground, corpses started to fall from his robe. It was just one at first, but it kept piling up. It ended with Vandir being surrounded by the dark-skinned corpses, forty-three of them.
“Amazing. I didn’t expect for me to use forty-three bodies to block your attack,” Vandir then turned toward Tang Shaoyang. If he could wink, he would wink at his boss, “It’s not a scam, Boss. A cultivator could also pack a punch.” Not long after, the corpses turned into black smoke and dispersed.
This was the reason why Vandir chose to block the sword. He was still gathering the data for his research, and he launched the attack to test out how powerful a cultivator could be. Forty-three bodies were used to defend the attack. It was considered a fatal attack.
“Now let’s wrap this up!”
-Ouyang Biya-
She could not believe that the Rain of Blood Blossom was neutralized. That was one of the most devastating techniques in her arsenal, yet it was easily blocked. The image of the people from outside the Sacred Realm had changed in her mind.
These people were not as weak as her elder had described to her. Whether it was the elder of the Ouyang Family or the Supreme Guardians, they were wrong.
She snapped out when she heard the clanking noise, looking down at the skeleton. Her mind was in a mess that she could not hear what it talked about, but then she sensed a killing intent from behind.
She made a one-eighty-degree turn, swinging her sword upwards. In front of her was the dual-sword-wielding warrior, with his swords coming at her. Their swords clashed, and she was about to redirect the force behind the sword with Gentle Flow until she felt the overwhelming force behind the attack.
Her eyes widened in shock as she was not able to redirect the sword. Their swords met head-on, and she was sent down to the ground.
Boom!
Ouyang Biya landed on her feet, then forced her to bend her knees as she landed. The sword was shaking, but it was not the sword; it was her hand. Not just her Gentle Flow failed, but she was being overwhelmed in terms of strength. It might be attributed to the fact that she could not utilize her strength fully at the unexpected moment.
A strong gust suddenly blew, clearing the cloud of dust around her. A figure stood in front of her, the warrior with the spear. He thrust the spear toward her head, and she immediately brought her sword up. She tried the same trick, the Gentle Flow, trying to shove the spear upward.
To her surprise, the spear moved like an agile snake and avoided contact with her sword. She was caught off guard because the spear warrior showed a move that he had never used on her before. She managed to react in time, pushing herself to the right side.
Ouyang Biya felt the stinging pain in her left shoulder. The spear pierced her left shoulder, and her enemy showed no mercy. Instead of pushing the spear, he swung the spear to the side, tearing her shoulder apart.
She immediately used her mobility arts to create distance against the spear warrior. Her left arm was badly mangled, as was almost her entire left shoulder. She took out a small container and tossed a pill into her mouth.
Before the healing pill could take effect, she sensed a killing intent from behind. She did not try to face her opponent head-on this time. Her figure darted forward as a broadsword hit the ground with a boom.
Ouyang Biya managed to buy time for her left shoulder to fully heal. The mangled shoulder was no more, exposing her silky smooth white skin as her robe was torn. This was when she realized that the five faceless figures had not gone all out in the fight against her earlier.
’I can’t afford to get distracted…’
She had not finished her thoughts when she felt a sharp pain in her thigh. She looked down and found an invisible arrow striking her thigh. No, it was an arrow made of wind, drilling through her right thigh. She could not see the wind, which was the reason why she did not notice the arrow.
“Urghhh!”
Ouyang Biya grunted in pain as she fell on her right knee. She did not know the mage infused into the wind arrow, but the pain in her thigh was getting worse and worse. On top of that, it showed a sign of healing even though she had just swallowed a healing pill.
She pushed herself to stand up with the support of her sword as she looked at the wound, and it shocked her because her flesh started to rot.
’Poison?’
Ouyang Biya snapped and looked up. The dual swords warrior was right above her. She endured the pain in her thigh and was about to use her mobility arts to get away. She needed to stabilize her wound before it got worse if she wanted to survive.
However, she realized it was too late because she was boxed in, not by the other two warriors, but by a deep purple energy cube. She was in the center of this cube made of purple energy with the three warriors.
She dodged the dual sword warrior and moved to the edge of the cube. A blood cherry blossom formed on her sword’s hilt, and the blade was covered in her blood-colored energy. She tried to break the cube with her sword, thrusting her sword into the barrier.
The moment the tip of the sword met the barrier, the sword stopped. The barrier did not budge a little; no scratch or crack could be seen from the sword. In fact, the barrier absorbed the blood-colored energy and also the force behind the sword.
Ouyang Biya was puzzled and weirded. She never encountered a barrier that absorbed the force of her attack. It was not weird when the barrier absorbed her energy, but it was different when her force was being absorbed.
“Welcome to Death Arena, Miss Cultivator!”
The voice reminded her that she was still facing the three warriors. She turned around only to find out that the three warriors stood in the center where she was just now, not moving from there, not chasing her. As if they knew she could not get out of this cube.
After ensuring the three warriors were not after her life, she looked up where the voice came from. The robed skeleton was standing above the cube.
“Stop your pointless struggle and face my minion, Miss Cultivator. You are in my Death Arena. No matter what you did, you can’t destroy my Death Arena. The only way for you to get out is to defeat my minions. No more running, Miss Cultivator. You must fight, and you must win if you want to stay alive!”
