Armipotent - Chapter 2015: Rage and Regret

Chapter 2015: Rage and Regret
Ouyang Biya leaned her back against the barrier. The barrier only acted as a barrier to cage her; it didn’t harm her when she touched it. She heard everything from the skeleton, and it was another surprise for her that such a technique existed.
’Or maybe it lies to me so it can get more data from me. I guess that skeleton is right about one thing, I must fight and kill them if I want to live!’
The wound on her thigh worsened slightly as she found a way to stop the decay. Infusing her internal energy into her wound helped to stop the decay, but it was just a temporary measure. She was delaying the inevitable, and she could not keep it up during the fight. It was bad to split her focus to nourish her wound during a fight, especially when it was three against one.
She pushed herself up against the barrier, limping her way toward the three black-armored warriors. These three did not take advantage of her position and cornered her when she was backed against the barrier. That was a bad position for her to fight against three at once.
Ouyang Biya had gotten used to the pain and her movement impairment. She might not be as fast as before, but she was not going down without a fight.
’NO! I will not die here. I will kill them all and come back. I can’t die here!’
The internal energy burst forth from her body, creating a bloody cherry blossom with her at the center. At the same time, smaller bloody cherry blossoms formed around her. More than twenty small bloody cherry blossoms floated around her.
The flowers were spinning in the air, and the three black armored soldiers were in their fighting stance already. Even though it was three against one, the black-armored warrior didn’t underestimate their opponent.
Ouyang Biya pointed her sword at the three figures. The moment she did so, the flowers around her spun quicker and quicker before shooting the bloody petals on three warriors. The bloody-red petals moved so fast that they blurred in visions.
The spear warrior and the broadsword warrior took two steps back, while the dual sword warrior took one step forward.
A series of clanking noises rang in the air as the warrior reflected the petals that came for them alone. Some of the petals were split into two, but most of them were directed to the sides, landing on the empty ground.
However, Ouyang Biya’s attack did not stop until five minutes later, as it looked like she shot unlimited petals. To her surprise, the broadsword warrior and the spear warrior allowed her to continue her attack. If it was before, they would sneak their way to her back or would attack her from above, not this time, which was worrying.
The dual swords warrior blocked most of the petal blades, but he was still hit. There were at least thirteen thin holes on the black armor. Ouyang Biya managed to land at least thirteen hits, yet the warrior seemed fine even after that.
She expected it would do something, but she was disappointed because the dual swords warrior’s figure blurred and shot toward her. He appeared in front of her in an instant, and with her leg situation, it would be better to face him head-on.
Ouyang Biya was afraid that moving around would put more strain on her wound and make it worse. It would be better to fight head-on and finish her opponent off instead of further analyzing her enemy. Of course, she always kept an eye on the other two warriors as well. She was forced to split her focus to nourish her wound, keeping an eye on the other two warriors and her opponent in front of her.
The warrior’s two swords blurred in motion, and so did Ouyang Biya’s swords. The swords clashed, creating sparks in the air and a clanking noise. In less than a minute, their swords clashed more than a hundred times.
Ouyang Biya was pressured, her wound worsening as her attention was split, focusing on the enemy in front of her. If this continued, the decay would spread and might reach her upper body. A bloody cherry blossom bloomed with her at the center, and then it spun like a tornado, which forced the dual swords warrior to leap ten meters backwards.
Her body wobbled, almost falling to the side. She was forced to use her sword to keep standing. It would be a big opening for her enemy if she fell here. She regained her concentration to pour her internal energy into her wound. She was relieved that the decay’s spreading speed was slow, or she might be screwed.
Right after stabilizing her wound, she immediately tried to sense her enemy again. Not only did she lose her concentration to nourish her wound, but she lost the two other warriors as well. She spotted the dual swords warrior, but the spear and the broadsword warriors were no longer in their spots.
Ouyang Biya sensed two familiar presences right behind her. It was naive of her to think they would let the dual sword warrior have a fair fight against her. With her quick action, she created a blooming cherry blossom with her as the center once more. However, instead of shooting petals, the cherry blossom exploded.
With a boom, the explosion sent the two warriors behind her flying. Just as she thought she had bought another time for herself, a gleam of steel flashed, tearing through the explosion and going straight to her chest.
The dual swords warrior appeared in front of her with one of his swords piercing her chest. She coughed up blood, and the blood flowed down through the corner of her lips.
“I can’t die here… I can’t die…”
Her breathing became ragged as she grabbed the sword. She tried to pull out the sword from her chest, but the sword remained firm. Her eyes shook as the fear of death engulfed her. She was not afraid of death itself, but the fear of not being able to avenge her family as the last survivor of the Ouyang Family.
“I can’t die… I…”
She could not complete her sentence as a spear pierced her back. The spear went through her chest, right beside the sword. She tried to muster the energy in her Dantian, but to no avail, as if she had lost control over her own body.
“N-no… I…”
Ouyang Biya sensed the third warrior was approaching. She could sense that the broadsword was going for her head. The moment she realized that this was the end of her, tears poured out of her eyes. The regret and anger for not being able to avenge her family consumed her.
She had no one to blame but herself. It was her greed for power. She never felt enough, wanting more power for her vengeance. That was why she readily agreed to the Supreme Guardian’s order to take the Thousand Vows Pavilion’s inheritance.
She thought the Thousand Vows Pavilion’s Grandmaster Codex would guarantee her success in fighting the Murim Alliance.
In that last moment, the dark-purple-colored barrier broke apart. The robed skeleton landed right behind her and stopped the broadsword. She did not know why, but she felt like she might have a chance to survive for some reason. She would betray the Heaven Founder if that was the cost to survive until she heard the skeleton’s cruel words.
“No! You can’t destroy her head. Her body is a valuable asset for my next project. You don’t have to finish her, she will die soon enough!”
Those words crushed a little budding hope in her eyes. Her black eyes dimmed as she slowly lost her vision. Her heart, her will screamed, she did not want to die, but she was helpless in front of Death itself.
