Armipotent - Chapter 2018: Primary Contributions

Chapter 2018: Primary Contributions
Tang Shaoyang expected Han Taiyang to speak since they were in a contract, but it took the spirit too long to speak that he forgot about Han Taiyang’s existence. That gave him a pause for a moment, but he decided to ignore the spirit out of pettiness.
He was not going to give in to the spirit with an attitude like Han Taiyang. Especially when he had Ouyang Biya now. She could be the source of information about the Sacred Realm and the Murim Alliance for him. He would like to build his relationship with mutual respect, and he was not going to talk with Han Taiyang just because the Sun Sovereign wanted to talk.
“Look who’s talking?” Vandir’s voice rang in Tang Shaoyang’s head. As soon as he got Ouyang Biya’s body, the Skeleton returned to the Spirit World, “I thought you were a mute or something.”
The skeleton did not forget to tease the Sun Sovereign, which was ignored by Han Taiyang. The cultivator was waiting for an answer from Tang Shaoyang.
“What I want to do…” Tang Shaoyang muttered, forgetting what he wanted to check after hearing Han Taiyang’s voice.
“Ah, yes, that thing…” He opened the status screen and checked on Ouyang Biya’s rank. To his surprise, Ouyang Biya was at the high-rank Archaic Spirit, on the same rank as Han Taiyang.
He did not know the one-stage gap for the True God Realm. He assumed that the peak of the True God Realm and the 8th Stage True God Realm should be big. The peak True God Realm should be on the same level as the pinnacle rank Archaic Spirit.
“Alright, to clear your misunderstanding, I will let you see my status screen, Ouyang Biya.”
He opened the status screen and pointed at his affiliation, the Tang Empire. There was no second affiliation, and it did not show that he was part of the Murim Alliance as well.
“As you can see, I am not someone from the Tang Family, you know. We just coincidentally shared the same surname.”
Ouyang Biya was inclined to believe that Tang Shaoyang was not part of the Tang Family, but there was still a shadow of doubt. However, she believed it would be answered sooner or later. She would find the truth after a long observation.
“Now let’s hear your story, Ouyang Biya. I want to know more about the Sacred Realm, the Murim Alliance, and your organization. I believe you are not part of the Murim Alliance as well.”
Tang Shaoyang could sense it, her hatred toward the Murim Alliance. That was a tell that she came from the Murim Alliance’s opposing faction. However, there was something that he could not figure out. Why did people only mention the Murim Alliance, but not the opposing alliance?
’Maybe because her faction is too weak to be compared to the Murim Alliance?’
He compared the situation on Earth, and it might be a similar case for the Sacred Realm.
Ouyang Biya shared her history and the story of how she was here without hesitation. She meant it when she said she would do everything for the second chance.
To his surprise, her story was something he would expect from a movie or drama series. It was political strife within the Murim Alliance that led to the Ouyang Family’s downfall. Some factions within the Murim Alliance did not like it when the Ouyang Family kept growing stronger.
Based on the information Ouyang Biya gathered so far, four families played a major role in the Ouyang Family’s destruction: The Ximen Family, the Jaegal Family, the Tang Family, and the Dongfang Family.
The Ximen Family and Jaegal Family were the masterminds of her family’s downfall because they did not want the Ouyang Family to rise above them. They hired the Tang Family, who were known for their poison, to smooth out the Ouyang Family’s destruction.
Then the Ximen Family and the Jaegal Family sent their forces in disguise under the Dongfang Family’s force to wipe out the remaining Ouyang Family. The Dongfang Family quickly replaced the Ouyang Family as the famed 2 Palaces, 4 Empires, 6 Great Sects, and 8 Families.
Those were the renowned names for the Murim Alliance, the pillars of the Murim Alliance. The Dongfang Family was not part of the eight families until the destruction of the Ouyang Family. They were a renowned family, but they were far below the Ouyang Family.
While many had a suspicion that the other families might take a part in the Ouyang Family’s fall, the Murim Alliance did not pursue the matter for the sake of the Sacred Realm’s stability and peace. No one wanted to fight for the destroyed legacy, and the Dongfang Family quickly replaced the Ouyang Family in the eight families.
As the sole survivor of the Ouyang Family, Ouyang Biya was determined to avenge her family. That was when she was picked by a hidden organization called Heaven Founder. She had a talent, but she was just one of many talented individuals in the Heaven Founder until the Supreme Being, the leader of the Heaven Founder, took a fancy to her.
That was when she received the full support from the Heaven Founder and rose in her cultivation. Receiving the full support meant Heaven Found funneled all kinds of rare resources for her. Upon getting to the 5th Stage True God Realm, she was appointed as a Guardian. The cat mask was her symbol as one of the twelve guardians.
It was a long story for sure, so Tang Shaoyang listened to her while moving around, sacrificing the dead for more spirits while at it, and continued cleaning the world. The story was over after he summoned two low-rank Archaic Spirits and used a lot of bodies to upgrade them to the high-rank Archaic Spirit.
At this point, the high-rank Archaic Spirit became a standard for his contract. When the quality of the sacrifices went down, he ended up summoning the Mythical Spirit. Instead of using bodies to upgrade to the Archaic Spirit, he sacrificed the spirit.
The Mythical Spirit was quite strong on its own, but Tang Shaoyang did not want to break the standard he had set. He did not want to sacrifice more bodies to upgrade it either, because it might require more bodies than he could afford to get this spirit to the high-rank Archaic Spirit.
On top of that, this sacrifice was an experiment. He wanted to know how much he could get from sacrificing the Mythical Spirit, whether it was worth it to sacrifice them, or whether it was better to keep them. He got 200.000 Spirit Energy, 45.000 Attribute Points, and no skills.
There were a lot of Attribute Points for Primordial Rank and below, but not so many for him. 45k attributes were only worth a third of a star, not enough to raise even one star, as his stat required 60k attribute points for one star. In conclusion, it was not worth it if he was looking to raise his stats, but it would be a worthy sacrifice if Spirit Energy was what he was looking for.
The cleansing continued for another two weeks after the attack on their main base before the world was truly cleaned out from the calamity. The contribution list soon appeared in front of every participant, and they were left speechless because Tang Shaoyang’s name was in the first place.
There was no number in the list like the usual special mission for cleansing the abandoned world. It was listed in an interesting way. Next to Tang Shaoyang’s name was Primary as his score, and the other names below Tang Shaoyang got Minor as their scores.
Clementine and Arion’s names were not in the top ten, and everyone else got Minor as their score.
Tang Shaoyang found it funny until he received a congratulatory message and was forcefully teleported back to the main base. Fortunately, he had finished his business with the summoning. He managed to use the remaining bodies and summoned an additional eleven spirits: four Mythical Spirits and seven high-ranking Archaic Spirits.
In total, he had 37 spirits before he arrived in this world, and another new class for him to explore. Unfortunately, four of them were Mythical Spirits. After discovering how many stats he gained from the Mythical Spirit, he decided to keep them instead.
He was satisfied with his gain, especially after getting Ouyang Biya. She was his key to the Sacred Realm.
’It’s time to go back and meet my daughter. Take a break for a while before deciding the next step.’
He was happy because he managed to get what her daughter wanted, the cat. He believed that the Beast Spirit would satisfy her daughter’s request.
“Let’s return…” His voice faded as he met with two pairs of stern stares from his fellow Executive Administrators.
Clementine and Arion stood just five meters away from him, glaring at him with a displeased look on their faces. “Didn’t we make a deal to give them more time?”
Tang Shaoyang shrugged, “I gave them enough time already. I told you I got my new class on the first day, and I did nothing for the next half month, giving them more time as you told me to. You can’t expect me to give them more than half a month, do you?”
