Aspiring to the Immortal Path - Chapter 1189: Devastation (1)

Tang Jie made his move as soon as he finished speaking.
A scroll unrolled across the sky.
The Mountain River State Diagram.
The moment the scroll appeared, the open skies became full of life.
Mountains, rivers, and jungles manifested in the heavens, resplendent and shining.
Another world had appeared out of nowhere, right in the middle of the spatial vortex.
This was an extremely strange phenomenon. The center of the vortex was not a small space, but it wasn’t particularly spacious either. Several dozen devils revealing their true forms had already essentially filled the area. But the vast world of the Mountain River State Diagram had still managed to unfurl within this area, neither fully merging with the world nor remaining its own completely isolated dimension.
All the devils appeared in the Yellow Court World, no longer finding themselves fighting for space. The spatial vortex still existed, but it was outside the world, spinning around the world like a planetary ring, further adorning the world’s multicolored splendor.
Tang Jie stood in the center of the Yellow Court World.
He had originally been close to the devils, but because of the Yellow Court World, he was now a long distance away. This stretching of distance had also stretched out the devil attacks. They left long black streaks in the air as they shot toward Tang Jie, some of them flying off in strange trajectories.Tang Jie casually waved his hand.
There was a gust of wind, and all the attacks aimed at him disappeared.
“Be careful! This is his small world!” An experienced devil recognized the nature of the Yellow Court World and called out.
The devils were shocked to hear that this was a small world.
All of them were well aware of a small world’s power. In a small world with a master, the Domain Lord was the Heavenly Dao, and every single thing within it was under their influence. To fight a Domain Lord in such a world would be done under immense suppression.
Fortunately, Tang Jie hadn’t pulled them in by force, as that would require so much power that not even a Boundless Gold Immortal would have been able to do it. Instead, he had manifested the world in the Mountain River State Diagram into the main world, overlapping it. Thus, while Tang Jie had a powerful influence over this area, it was not as strong as if it had been his own world.
Still, he had enough control to easily neutralize the demon attacks.
The devils were stunned by Tang Jie’s handiwork, and then their eyes glinted with greed.
A small world’s construction required a vast amount of resources, so in the desolate Primordial Fog, making a small world was basically impossible. Thus, even top-class Archdemon Lords couldn’t build their own small worlds.
But they could just steal what they couldn’t make themselves!
The Primordial Fog Calamity that took place every three thousand years was a chance for the demons to change their fate and grow stronger. While countless powerful demons would die in it, many more would grow more powerful.
Demon Lord Libido had ascended in the last Primordial Fog Calamity. Anyone who gained the Mountain River State Diagram might be able to become the next Libido.
All of the devils shared the same desire.
And even Libido’s eyes burned with the flames of greed.
He laughed, “I really didn’t think that I could not only get my hands on the Eight Ocean Mountains on this campaign, but on an independent small world in such a complete state. If you are willing to become a demon and hand these two over, I am willing to make you my deputy.”
“You forgot to mention the Myriad Yin Yang Furnace and the Sovereign Blade,” Tang Jie said with a chuckle, taking out the Sovereign Blade.
After 1200 years of tempering, the Sovereign Blade had grown from a small golden grain to a divine weapon a thousand feet long. Even so, in the hand of Tang Jie’s massive true form, it seemed like a toothpick. Tang Jie looked at the Sovereign Blade and smiled. “I’ve been focused on spell arts so much recently that I’ve neglected you, for which I apologize. Today, I will make it all up to you.”
In the past, Tang Jie had had access to peerless law cultivation, so after the Sovereign Blade had taken form, he didn’t feel there was any further need to develop it. Only after Yu Cheng took away his avatar and he had to cultivate all over again did he realize that there was still room to develop the Sovereign Blade.
Looking into the distance, Tang Jie suddenly bellowed at the demons.
This roar was so intimidating that all the demons couldn’t help but shiver.
Tang Jie swung the Sovereign Blade at the demons, his voice booming like the herald of death: “It’s time to die!”
The chillingly lethal energy of the Sovereign Blade rushed toward the head of a devil.
Demons were savage by nature, so when this devil saw Tang Jie attacking him, he spat out a ball of black light. This black light spun in the air before transforming into a pitch-black saber with 99 fierce demon heads embedded into its backside, all of them wailing. This blade was called the Nine Headed Heaven Saber, and the 99 demon heads belonged to the 99 fierce demons this devil had slain to forge the saber. At full power, all 99 demons would imbue the blade with immense power. The demon blade unleashed a torrent of destructive energy at Tang Jie’s wave of sword energy.
The devil laughed, “You think you can contend against my Nine Headed Heaven Saber? Simply…”
Before he could finish, his heaven-sundering demon saber shattered.
“How could this be?” The devil was dumbfounded.
As the Sovereign Blade sliced through the saber, a millstone-sized golden chunk merged into it. The demon saber had broken down into a golden “grain” much larger than that of ordinary treasures.
“Ah, destroying treasures is as addicting as ever.” Tang Jie licked his lips as he turned his sword on another devil.
This devil yelped and threw out his Stormcloud Hammer, which grew to the size of a mountain and sought to crush Tang Jie, truly seeming like a stormcloud.
At the same time, a red spear came shooting out from the side. This was the Sunpiercer, thrown by another devil.
Following this was a banner wreathed in demonic energy in which countless demons and ghosts wailed.
Three demonic weapons took aim at Tang Jie, each one capable of obliterating all life.
The Sovereign Blade swung, drawing a golden line across the heavens. A moment later, all the demonic energy was dispelled as the three demonic weapons all shattered, three golden lights flying toward the Sovereign Blade.
“My baby!” the three devils cried out in despair.
Tang Jie chuckled. “Anything else?”
Some devils who failed to see what was going on threw out their own treasures, filling the air with their lethal power as they shot toward Tang Jie.
Tang Jie once more swung his sword.
Once more, all demonic energy was banished!
The power of the treasures vanished in a single strike, their fragments raining down as the devils wailed.
“Be careful! This man has the Sovereign Blade, which can shatter all treasures! Don’t use treasures to directly clash with him!” Libido finally spoke up.
He had once exchanged blows with Tang Jie and had some understanding of Tang Jie’s abilities, but the Sovereign Blade had never destroyed any of his treasures, so he couldn’t be sure of its power. It was only now that he had confirmed what it could do, but it had come too late and seemed more like wisdom in hindsight.
The devils finally stopped using their treasures and shifted to using spell arts.
A storm of spell arts surged out, comprising mostly wind and flame spell arts. These devils were all formidable combatants, so they needed only one warning to switch up their tactics and avoid clashing with the Sovereign Blade.
But Tang Jie laughed. “I was waiting for precisely this.”
As he spoke, torrents of energy, black and yellow, began to emerge from his body, causing all the devils to tremble.
And they could sense this energy growing stronger and stronger.
“This is… core energy! He’s using core energy!” a devil cried out in realization.
Even Libido was in disbelief that Tang Jie could use core energy. Was he actually a Gold Immortal?
But he could tell that the core energy Tang Jie could use wasn’t very strong, far from a Gold Immortal’s level.
In the blink of an eye, Libido realized what was going on and said, “You might have comprehended a method of using core energy, but your cultivation hasn’t reached the right level. You’re only able to use core energy because you’ve merged your small world with the main world, leveraging your control of the small world to strengthen your control of the main world. Besides that, you also have the Eight Ocean Mountains helping you.”
“So long as you know!”
This was one of the trump cards that gave Tang Jie the confidence to face so many opponents all by himself.
Libido shouted, “You think a little core energy is enough for you to challenge us? Far from it!”
As core energy poured in, Tang Jie grew stronger and stronger, so strong that even a sliver of leaking power from his body was enough to obliterate a nearby mountain.
Disdain appeared in Tang Jie’s eyes as he gazed at the demons. “We’ll find out once we fight.”
A giant hand swept toward the demons, threatening to send them all toward oblivion.
Tang Jie had ceased to be a majestic and transcendent Immortal, fully revealing his bloodthirsty and savage side!
