Aspiring to the Immortal Path - Chapter 1252: Rainbow Glass

Just when the finger was about to crush Huang Wuji, a breeze stirred.
But this gentle breeze was enough to slow the Nine Disaster Fiend Monk’s descending finger. As if countless threads had tangled around it, it got slower and slower, but still, it was descending, with cataclysmic effects on the surroundings. Mountains were crumbling, the earth was cracking open, and even the sky was full of spatial vortices.
Huang Wuji couldn’t help but drop his jaw in awe. Before this sky-shattering finger, Huang Wuji felt utterly helpless.
Was this the power of a Boundless Gold Immortal?
Too terrifying!
Perhaps only an existence like the Domain Lord could stop him?
Huang Wuji couldn’t help but laugh at himself.
And then a hand grabbed him and pulled, instantly retreating thousands of kilometers. It was Fairy Gu Ye, who had traveled through space to rescue him from the finger.
“What were you just standing around for?” Fairy Gu Ye scolded.
Huang Wuji had felt like he was already dead, so only now did he come to his senses.
Looking at the distant Nine Disaster, he still saw that giant face looming over the clouds, that finger slowly moving down. But the breeze holding it back gradually transformed into a hand that held up the heavens.
Tang Jie’s voice rang out. “Nine Disaster, you finally made your move. It seems your slumber was effective. You’ve already managed to establish a connection with this world’s core.”
Everyone was enlightened.
It turned out that Nine Disaster had been in hibernation all this time in order to commune with the core. His enormous body now made sense, as such a thing was possible with the domain core. This was the biggest difference between Gold Immortals and True Immortals.
Since he had appeared, he must have made a major breakthrough in his connection to the core.
But to be able to manifest a body the size of the domain, the Nine Disaster Fiend Monk had to be so strong as to approach Saint Immortal.
Hearing Tang Jie’s words, the Nine Disaster Fiend Monk rumbled, “This is not all I am waiting for. The Gigantes Domain is mine, and all who get in my way will be turned to dust!”
This time, he brought down his entire hand, not just a finger.
The breeze-turned-hand moved upward, miraculously holding back Nine Disaster’s hand.
Tang Jie once more spoke. “If it’s to this level… I can do it too.”
All the demons were aghast.
A Demon Lord shouted, “He can communicate with the domain core? How could that be?”
While Gold Immortals could link to domain cores, this took time, which Tang Jie himself had confirmed when he ascended to Boundless.
For this reason, after Nine Disaster attacked the Gigantes Domain, he entered a state of hibernation for a while to gain the core’s acknowledgment.
Tang Jie had come much later, so how could he do the same?
Even Nine Disaster was shocked. “I didn’t expect to have still underestimated you. No wonder…”
He didn’t continue, simply pressing down harder, the fabric of space splintering, the fissures flowing outward in a great flood that had everyone fleeing in terror.
When dealing with world-shaking Titans like these, their aftershocks alone could kill.
Numbers were truly meaningless before them.
These blows could shatter domains.
Tang Jie also revealed his form, the earth becoming his face, the mountains his nose, a bottomless valley his mouth, and two oceans his eyes. The breath exhaled through his nose was that everlasting storm that held off Nine Disaster.
That hand of wind rose upward, leaving behind clear skies in its wake.
Shattered space and clear skies formed a stark contrast, constantly switching places, destruction and rebirth overlapping as if the world was being obliterated and rebuilt all at once. It left people dazzled, entranced, elated, and excited.
There seemed to be no one in the world except for Tang Jie and the Nine Disaster Fiend Monk, engaged in a clash for the ages.
With every passing second, countless subspaces were being destroyed and born.
The spatial storm howled around and between the two.
As the storm grew stronger and stronger, even the human and demon Immortals had to retreat, leaving the two to their stalemate.
Tang Jie had somehow stopped Nine Disaster’s terrifying power.
His abilities to communicate with and use the core were on the same level as Nine Disaster.
“Scary guy,” a Demon Lord muttered.
He had only entered Boundless ten years ago, but he was already able to fight evenly with the Nine Disaster Fiend Monk. How could one not be horrified by such a freak?
“But he can’t stop the demons of the Primordial Fog!” another Demon Lord proudly said.
As if to prove his words true, two other powerful sources of energy appeared.
“It’s Ancestor Lifeless and the Ancient Stellar Devil!” the demons cheered.
The owners of these two energy sources showed themselves. One was a bitter-faced old man, while the other was a giant demon almost the same size as the Nine Disaster Fiend Monk. Both were at Boundless.
Two more Boundless Gold Immortals had joined the Nine Disaster Fiend Monk’s side.
Ancestor Lifeless was a human who had become a demon, an ancient existence who preceded the Nine Disaster Fiend Monk by more than ten thousand years, truly deserving the title of “Ancestor”.
As for the Ancient Stellar Devil, it was a rather rare kind of demon. These demons were born at Celestial Heart, and they could keep growing stronger all the way to True Immortal. But Ancient Stellar Devils liked wandering the stars and had little interest in plundering the human world. Most Ancient Stellar Devils chose upon entering the positive plane to drift about the endless void, so most of them had lived for countless years, which was why they were called “Ancient”.
That this Ancient Stellar Devil had attained Boundless Gold Immortal meant that it had to be incredibly old, probably even older than Ancestor Lifeless. It was a mystery as to how Nine Disaster had managed to recruit him. However, it wasn’t a surprise that they were so old, as it was usually only the extremely old that could cultivate to Gold Immortal.
Tang Jie and Nine Disaster could be considered youths among Gold Immortals.
The demons cheered as the two Gold Immortals that Nine Disaster had recruited appeared, but the humans grimaced.
Ancestor Lifeless and the Ancient Stellar Devil attacked together, an invisible pressure coming down as the world darkened.
This pressure wasn’t as overbearing as the Nine Disaster Fiend Monk’s, but these were still two Gold Immortals. When they worked together, even ten-some True Immortals might not be enough to stop them.
Of course, there was still hope, not the utter despair that the Nine Disaster Fiend Monk inspired.
Just when Yun Tianlan and the rest were resolving themselves to fight back against the two devils, a mighty roar came from the distance, followed by a thunderous punch.
This punch shot straight for Ancestor Lifeless, but just when it was about to hit, Ancestor Lifeless’s body exploded with a crystalline light. Yet the punch blasted right through, sending crystal shards everywhere and smashing right into the ancestor’s bitter old face, which briefly deformed before exploding into a gory mess.
Energy raged through the area as an elderly Divine Soul yelled in fury, “Gigantes King!”
The Gigantes King’s imposing form emerged. “Ancestor Lifeless, Slomo, the two of you are mine!”
He threw out another punch.
The Ancient Stellar Devil didn’t try to evade, simply opening his mouth, and then the entire space inexplicably froze in place.
Ancient Stellar Devils loved to wander through the void, feeling the Dao of the world as they did, and they were masters of the Dao of Space.
Meanwhile, Ancestor Lifeless reformed his body, his scowl even nastier than before as that area of stilled space gained a crystalline luster.
Before becoming a demon, Ancestor Lifeless had been the master of the Prismatic Sect, which specialized in the Rainbow Splendor Art. He had not abandoned this art as a demon, instead pushing it to even greater heights.
The demons of Primordial Fog normally used Divine Connections of a dark and cruel nature, but not Ancestor Lifeless. This Immortal Art remained as gorgeous as ever, and when used to the limit, it could convey a sense of sublime beauty.
His Rainbow Glass had the perfect conditions for this sublime beauty in the Ancient Stellar Devil’s spatial seal.
This beautiful light was slowed to a crawl within this shackled area, appearing like flowing ribbons of light.
The fist of the Gigantes King was the party crasher. Having inherited the indomitable resolve of the Martial Lord, the Gigantes King cared not for some spatial seal or Rainbow Glass. No matter what Divine Connection, demonic art, or Immortal Art his opponent had, he would always respond with a punch.
Smash, crush, destroy!
Thus was this portrait of light obliterated and shattered by a cruel fist.
So wasteful! So tragic!
But there was a beauty in the destruction.
Thus, everyone became dejected at the loss of this beauty.
But a second later, a new wonder appeared. The spatial seal persisted and expanded, spreading out the light in a bizarre and incomprehensible fashion, and as it spread all across the world, it cast itself into everyone’s eyes, seeped into their hearts.
“So pretty!” Yiyi sighed as she gazed up at the sky.
