Aspiring to the Immortal Path - Chapter 1281: Lifting the Veil

The moment Tang Jie was able to sense the operating principles of the world, all of the surrounding Dao armaments began to resonate with him.
Their Dao Runes erupted in blinding light, and in an unseen plane, Dao Wills were surging.
And Tang Jie’s body began to respond to these Dao Runes like a starving beast, devouring those Dao Wills and comprehending them, one Dao Rune after another appearing in his body—Tang Jie had broken through his inability to use Dao power!
The Great Dao Body!
This was the real Great Dao Body.
It was just that the Dao referred to in the Parting Classic was not the Dao of the Great Stellar Chiliocosm, but the Dao of this bizarre dimension!
Yes, this was a dimension that was ideal for his physical body, so its Dao was undoubtedly more favorable for the body cultivation of the Parting Classic.
At the same time, as the Dao Runes pulsed, the denizens of all those Dao armaments also charged at their group.
“What’s going on?” the demons cried out in alarm.
But the creatures cared not for their views, letting out terrifying bellows as they barraged the demons with punches.
In a flash, the countless giant creatures of this dimension had brought all their power together!
“Let me!”
Tang Jie suddenly roared.
A powerful shockwave emanated from his body, imbued with an ancient energy. Tang Jie’s aura began to grow more imposing and majestic, seemingly filling the entire space around him. Tang Jie’s form became so gigantic that even Yu Cheng and the Western Heaven Buddha Ancestor’s group was able to see him.
Yu Cheng seemed to have rather mixed feelings as he gazed at Tang Jie.
“Raaaa!” Tang Jie unleashed a primal roar at the creatures.
This was an enraged bellow of an ancient behemoth, and a fierce blast of air spewed out of his mouth, upon which these creatures that could survive the Divine Connections of all these devils and Immortals died on the spot. The remainder wailed in fear, but they still kept charging.
The deaths of all these creatures caused energy to flood into his body. The Dao Runes within him glinted, upon which the energy was converted, and Tang Jie felt his body cultivation receiving much more of the energy.
So he had to comprehend the Daos of this place first?
It now seemed that his insufficient comprehension had prevented him from fully converting the energy.
But that was fine, for he still had time.
Tang Jie used all of his wisdom to try and feel the Dao Wills of this world.
His Dao Runes flashed and twinkled, drawing more and more creatures toward him, which terrified all the devil chiefs.
Comprehending more Dao Wills would draw in more creatures, and killing more creatures would make himself stronger, allowing him to comprehend more Dao Wills… Tang Jie entered a cycle of self-strengthening, and he charged forward, getting closer and closer to the tower.
The devils following him suffered, for they had to face more and more of those creatures.
One devil chief was surrounded by four creatures and instantly torn to shreds. Thankfully, he could revive, but he emerged weaker than before, and worst of all, he was still on the battlefield and was subsequently torn to shreds again. When he once more revived, he was weaker still, upon which he cried out in alarm, “Reviving in this place uses up the soul’s power? How could this be? How could this be?”
As he frantically cried out, he died again and again, until his soul was completely used up and dissipated to nothing.
If there was a first, there would be a second.
One by one, the devil chiefs and Demon Lords became locked into battle.
The Black Dragon Demon, an infamous Archdemon Lord of the Primordial Fog Domain, possessed formidable demonic arts, his flames even able to melt Mother Cloud Essence Metal. But when he spewed it at the creatures, it only left a few burn marks, and the creatures threw out salvos of punches in return. As they bashed away at his draconic body, he also fell into a cycle of death and rebirth.
Queen Sinflower, the undying Demon Lord who was closest to Gold Immortal, despite having an ocean’s worth of lifespan, was still finding herself being blasted apart… This female devil had drawn several dozen times the number of creatures to her because of her power, which subjected her to a relentless onslaught of attacks. She transformed her black ocean of a body into a terrifying storm, putting up a desperate resistance, but it was only enough to just barely survive.
Demon Lord Warflame was not as famous as the Black Dragon Demon Lord and Queen Sinflower, but he was the first in this dimension to break through his bottleneck and ascend to Boundless. Alas, even though he was at Boundless, the strength he could use was limited. He was gradually worn down under the concerted attacks of the creatures, becoming the first Gold Immortal among the devils and Immortals to die.
These were all mighty overlords of the demon world, but in this bizarre dimension, they had become like cannon fodder. With their strength sealed, the frenzied attacks of the creatures had them in utter misery.
Even powerful existences like Wu Antian and Godhead Guangfa felt incredible pressure.
“Tang Jie, help us!” the Three Sages Ancestor called out.
As a Dao-proving Saint Immortal, he sensed that this new development had to do with Tang Jie.
Only now did Tang Jie, who was immersed in comprehending the Dao Wills, open his eyes to look over at the Three Sages Ancestor. At that moment, the Three Sages Ancestor was instilled with a sense of awe, a compulsion to get down on his knees. He reeled in shock; was Tang Jie this powerful?
Tang Jie snorted, upon which the Three Sages Ancestor immediately changed his tone: “Domain Lord Tang, please save us!”
Tang Jie’s expression improved, and he looked around, causing ripples of Dao Will to spread out and explode into powerful shockwaves.
The creatures sensed these shockwaves, and after momentarily freezing, they all retreated.
“What is this?” Wang Yao called out.
It was a question he hadn’t expected Tang Jie to answer, but to his surprise, Tang Jie said, “This is aura. My aura condensed into will to inspire terror and awe.”
“‘Aura’? ‘Condensing aura into will’?” Everyone was baffled by these words.
Wang Yao, who had no need to stand on ceremony with Tang Jie, directly asked, “Adoptive Father, what do you mean by ‘condensing aura into will’?”
Tang Jie patiently explained, “It simply means condensing one’s aura into a formless existence akin to the soul. But while the soul is used to commune with the world and make its power one’s own, aura makes one a world in oneself, using this soul-like method to disperse one’s power, thus achieving the same effect as linking the soul to the world. To put it simply, in this dimension where the soul is not very useful, aura can replace it.”
Everyone was stunned.
“How can this happen? Why does Adoptive Father know of this?”
“Because this is the Dao of this world,” Tang Jie answered.
“‘The Dao of this world’?”
The Three Sages Ancestor asked, “Since when did the Great Stellar Chiliocosm have this sort of strange Dao?”
Tang Jie shot him a sympathetic glance.
He didn’t say anything, but as the Three Sages Ancestor looked at Tang Jie, he suddenly shivered in realization.
This mighty Saint Immortal stammered out, “This… this place… This isn’t the Great Stellar Chiliocosm.”
Everyone finally understood what was going on.
They had gone into a completely independent world.
A world with its own Dao, not under the Great Stellar Chiliocosm.
It was another universe, another spacetime.
It was beyond the Great Stellar Chiliocosm!
To transcend the Heavenly Dao, one had to first transcend this world!
Finally, a little of that veil of mystery had been lifted.
