Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground - Chapter 1266: Last Scenario

Chapter 1266: Last Scenario
Atticus appeared in a wasteland of rust and ash.
The skies were a mixture of blue and white clouds, and the golden rays of the sun shone down with intensity. However, Atticus felt as though the world was gray.
For hundreds of kilometers, all he saw were scattered remains, with broken weapons and ruined banners.
It looked like a war had been fought between two great nations here, one where an uncountable number of lives had been lost.
Atticus tore his gaze away as he saw that there were no immediate threats.
He glanced at his champions. They were all here, eyes cautiously scanning the space and demeanors calm. They met his gaze with a reassuring nod.
Atticus focused on himself next, and as usual, nothing was suppressed. He was glad about that.
“We wait?” Zenon asked after a moment.
“We wait,” Atticus responded.
And so, the group waited as per usual, for the rules to be announced, so they knew what exactly they were to do.
The voice came after some seconds.
“You have been transported to the world of the opposing god. The latter has also been transported to yours.”
The first words made the air tense and eyes narrow. But they listened intently as the voice continued.
“Some time has been given to each world to prepare for the arrivals. The first group to break through the defenses of the opposing world and reach the core will win the Virelenna.”
Before Atticus’ mind could start spinning, the voice suddenly added,
“To proceed, both gods are required to agree on and choose an aspect you want to restrict in both worlds. If you are unable to come to an agreement, a choice will be made for you. You have two minutes.”
Atticus’s gaze sharpened. A voice had suddenly sounded in his head.
’That’s the other god,’ he concluded, then pondered on what he had just said.
’He wants to limit our will.’
In simple terms, if Atticus agreed to this, neither of them would be able to use their wills offensively.
Atticus pondered on this matter. ’He might be trying to ground my concept.’
His concept was literally burning flames. There was no greater way to cause chaos than that.
’What about mana…’ Atticus tried to see both sides play out in his head. He weighed the pros and cons.
The first, if both of their wills were restricted, it would affect the whole world too. It meant that neither Noctis nor Whisker would be able to use wills.
However, they were still fearsome without it and would put on a challenge regardless. Plus, he still had his Eldorians with myriads of abilities.
But for mana, it was more tricky. If they should restrict the mana, then it would affect both worlds also.
Atticus would be unable to access the mana in the air and would be left with his will alone, and his teammates would be useless.
He doubted there was anyone who could withstand his will in this world, but he would rather not leave that to chance. There could be.
In Eldoralth, restricting the mana would make everyone except Whisker and Noctis useless. It was dangerous, quite so, when only both of them could fight.
What if the other party had powers that weren’t reliant on mana? More importantly, could Noctis and Whisker withstand a god’s will?
They couldn’t use their world’s will, but an individual will was seldom more powerful than a god’s.
Noctis might be his soul kin, but he was the god, not him. While Noctis had access to his powers, the universe wouldn’t allow two gods for a world. And the same stood for Ozeroth.
There were simply far too many unknowns, and too much to think about, but little time.
After a few seconds, Atticus finally made his choice.
’I accept.’
The voice returned in the next moment.
“Both gods have chosen ’Will’ as the world restriction. For the duration of this scenario, the people in both worlds will have their wills restricted.”
Atticus felt a strange aura wash over him, and in an instant, he felt his will getting restricted. The frown on Ozeroth’s face told him that he too felt the same thing.
The voice echoed once more.
“You may start.”
Atticus’s expression turned serious. He didn’t have to turn to feel the weight that had just settled over the group.
There was no need to exchange words. They had all heard the rules. The opposing group was now in their world. Their people would be under attack soon.
There was only one way to lessen, or even stop, the inevitable deaths: reach the core of this world as fast as possible and pass the scenario.
Atticus suddenly dipped, dark dragon wings sprouting from his back. He flapped once, and blasted off with insane speed. The rest of the group followed close behind, keeping up without hesitation.
Ozeroth, Magnus, Aric, and Zenon had all grown dragon wings as well.
Ozeroth still kept pace despite his restricted will. Though his golden glow had dimmed, revealing more of his tanned skin, he moved with ease.
Even without will, Ozeroth was still bonded with Atticus. Just like Atticus had access to his powers, he also had access to Atticus’.
Ozeroth had always preferred relying on his own strength, but right now, he had no choice.
’This land is really massive.’
As they moved, Atticus’s mind had begun spinning. They had already crossed more than a thousand kilometers, yet they were still in the wasteland.
His eyes sharpened as he spotted a large body of water far in the distance.
’Finally.’
He was feeling impatient. Having his will restricted didn’t sit well with him. In fact, Atticus hated it to his core.
He wanted nothing more than to end this scenario as fast as possible.
They doubled their speed, making sure to keep their guards high. But just as they got close, the ground suddenly lit up in a blinding radiance, tracing into a large sigil that spread across most of the wasteland.
Before the group could react, a blue dome suddenly emerged, rising high and wide, enveloping the entire wasteland.
