Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground - Chapter 1367: Follow

Chapter 1367: Follow
‘I have to give it a try.’
The pride eye wasn’t enough, Atticus needed something more. He could remember the clarity of the world when he used Solvath’s power earlier.
But he was starting to understand the current pattern. Why the visions had come to him when they did…
‘Because I’m using Solvath’s power.’ Atticus felt a shudder run through him, simply thinking the name.
The two times he’d zoned out and seen the visions, he had been using Solvath’s power. Now, he had to do the same, despite the risk.
Atticus reached inward, and his eyes flashed purple. The surge of emotions roared through him, but he shoved it all down and focused.
Now, he could see the world with a clarity in which he’d never seen it before. He felt a weird connection to the world. Like he had been involved in its makings.
Atticus focused on the dome, and at an insane speed, he watched as it unraveled before his eyes.
Atticus didn’t waste time, he raised his hands but his eyes narrowed. He felt dust rather than stone in his palms. He glanced and saw that the will stones had turned to dust.
‘That fool!’ Atticus couldn’t help but curse Whisker. Weren’t the will stones supposed to last multiple uses!?
‘I can’t go back.’
This was all the will stones he had. There were no other empty ones with him. Regardless, going back to ask for will stones from the others would waste too much time, plus they were probably in use.
‘What can I do?’ Atticus’ thoughts ran fast, and he came up with a sudden thought the next moment.
‘Let’s see.’
Atticus brought out and gripped one of the Redflame will stones and focused. The next moment, he felt the hot flames of the Redflame will blaze in response.
He didn’t even bother thinking, he stretched out his arm and focused.
A blaze of fire spread out and latched onto the dome. The fire spread, until it engulfed a large section of the dome. It burned as though it were paper.
‘Now!’ Atticus thundered telepathically to the others, and he felt the wave of Solvath’s emotions assault him the next moment.
His vision flushed black, and the scenes of the Big Bang and betrayal flashed in his mind. It was only when he felt the iron grip of Ozeroth that he was snapped back to reality.
As Atticus opened his eyes, he found himself off the ground, being carried by Ozeroth.
“Drop me.”
Confirming he was okay, Ozeroth listened. Atticus glanced at the others the moment he landed.
He took in the serious look on Whisker, the sweat bidding Kancilot’s face and Ozeorth’s rough appearance. His expression hardened.
At the corner of his eyes, Atticus caught sight of a lone woman donned in the attire of the will guard, observing them from the top of a building.
The woman smiled at him, but Atticus ignored her, looking away.
“Let’s go.”
The group blasted forward, shooting into the crowded city. They joined the multitude of people moving through the air.
But despite their speed and the crowd, Atticus still felt the piercing stare of the two sentinels. He didn’t have to glance back to know that they were on their tail.
But they had even more problems.
‘They’re attracting attention.’ He was glad that they hadn’t been surrounded by the will guard. Aside from these sentinels and the lone will guard, there didn’t seem to be anyone else.
But as he glanced back, Atticus could see as the people flying in front parting the way for the sentinels to pass. People had begun to notice the chase and were now pointing.
Soon enough, more will guard would come.
‘Can we escape through the portal?’ Atticus asked telepathically.
‘With these devils chasing us? No. With all the commotion we’re gathering, they’ll probably have a blockade formed by the time we get there.’
Atticus frowned. ‘Then what do you suggest?’
‘We lose them.’
A pause, and the eyes of the group met. The intense wind whipped at them, clothes fluttering.
Then, they dove.
Like eagles swooping down to grab prey, they reached the ground, each landing fluidly despite the crowded streets. They dove into the crowd, blending seamlessly while still moving quickly.
Atticus still felt their intense stares on him.
‘They’re still following us. Is it the bracelet?’
He doubted it. While Atticus had already scrutinized the bracelet and saw that it was strictly for tracking purposes.
However, they couldn’t have known that he awakened Solvath’s fragment with this. Which meant something had alerted them, and that same something was what made them able to follow him.
‘Because of Solvath’s fragment.’ That was what they were tracking, Atticus was sure of it.
‘Is there a way to turn it off?’
Atticus was suddenly pulled out of his thoughts by a cloaked figure suddenly appearing beside him. The figure, definitely a woman, felt familiar.
‘This scent.’ The soft scent of white jasmine. It was almost intoxicating, like moonlight in bloom.
‘It’s that woman.’ The realization struck him. The woman he had clashed with at the Gilded Debt. The other marked.
“You won’t lose them like this. Follow me.”
She said nothing else, suddenly swerving into an alleyway.
Atticus narrowed his eyes. It was suspicious, but he would rather her than the sentinels clearly trying to kill him.
‘Follow me.’
The others’ eyes turned towards him, questioning. But they listened, and they all slipped from the crowd and into the alleyway.
Atticus broke into a sprint, the group following behind. His eyes were fixed on the woman running ahead.
They soon reached the end of the alleyway, where Atticus caught sight of an aged humanoid man engraving something on top of the wall.
“Done?” The woman asked.
“3 more seconds.”
The sound of air tearing snapped Atticus out of his reverie. And he turned to see multiple beams of gold screaming towards him.
He was about to move when a purple light ignited across the entire alleyway. Atticus turned to the source.
The woman now radiated so much purple light she looked like a star.
Her eyes blazed, and without warning, she stretched out her hand and a beam of purple blasted out. It hissed past him, before colliding with the two golden beams.
There was no explosion, the golden beams simply burst into smoke and the purple beam surged ahead towards the sentinels.
Atticus’ eyes narrowed as he saw their panicked expression. Rather than block, they both darted away from the incoming beam.
“We go.”
Atticus turned back towards the woman. She now stood by a swirling portal, eyes fixed on him. Her gaze radiated a purple light, and she looked at him as though carefully observing.
Atticus took a step forward.
‘Are you sure?’ Whisker asked.
‘What other choice do we have?’
He glanced at Ozeorth and Kancilot who nodded seriously.
Atticus glanced back at the woman and his expression firmed.
In the next moment, they each stepped into the portal, leaving the willess world.
