Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground - Chapter 1416 Wife?

Chapter 1416 Wife?
“Hey.”
Oberon’s words froze in his throat. That voice… this feeling.
‘No….’
He turned, and the moment his eyes landed on the figure hovering in the sky, his pulse dropped.
“S-Supreme R-Ruler…” Oberon paled.
“Huh, Bond?”
“Hmm?”
Ozeroth glanced up, followed by Whisker. Seeing them and the host suddenly looking to the skies, the crowd followed their gaze.
The cheers vanished at once. Silence dropped over the coliseum.
Millions froze. For a moment, only the sound of awkward coughing echoed through the vast arena.
Atticus stared down at them all. There were millions present, yet each felt as though his eyes were fixed solely on them.
“Who,” he said, “will answer for this?”
“Su-Supreme Ruler, I— I can explain!” Oberon stammered, spinning toward the crowd for help, only to find a sea of blank, terrified faces. His mind went empty.
‘What do I do!?’
As he began to panic, luckily, a loud voice saved him.
“Bond! You’re back!”
Ozeroth shot into the sky, grinning as he faced Atticus.
“It doesn’t look like I was missed.”
“Of course you weren’t missed!” Ozeroth barked with a sneer. “What do you think we are, pussies?”
“That’s not what you were saying, though.”
Whisker’s lazy voice hovered up from below, his sunglasses glinting.
“Stay out of this!” Ozeroth frowned. “Don’t listen to him, Bond. He’s nothing but a liar!”
“Oh, don’t be like that.” Whisker appeared before Atticus, flashing Ozeroth an amused grin.
“The man’s been through a lot. For months now, not a single day has gone by without him whining about you. ‘Oh, why did Bond leave me alone with these idiots? Oh, when will Bond return so I can finally prove that building a harem is the path to true divinity!'”
“Shut up! You’re one to talk.”
Whisker squinted his eyes. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh yeah?” Ozeroth spun toward Atticus.
“He’s the one who convinced us to do nothing when you sent Kancilot back! And it was his idea to build this entire coliseum. This is all his fault!”
Atticus turned his gaze to Whisker, who cleared his throat.
“He’s exaggerating,” he said. “When Kancilot returned, I advised we do nothing because I knew my star actor always has everything under control.
“The last thing we wanted was to interfere and hold you back. It was a strategic decision made after countless hours of deliberation.”
Ozeroth scoffed. “You didn’t even stop sunbathing when you heard the news.”
“That was an act of faith.” Whisker adjusted his sunglasses, suddenly serious. “You know, the great trust I have in my star actor. You believe me, right? Don’t you?”
Ozeroth jabbed a finger toward him. “Bond won’t fall for your lies. He’ll believe me, right, Bond?”
Both turned to Atticus, only to find him staring at them with a tired look.
‘I want to go back,’ he thought.
He was starting to miss the quiet of Asterra.
He saw movement flicker at the edge of his vision and turned.
“Where are you going?”
Oberon froze mid-step.
“Ahem. I was… going to excuse myself, Supreme Ruler.”
Atticus narrowed his eyes. “I left you in charge. You have a lot of explaining to do.”
Oberon glanced around in panic.
“Ah! Supreme Ruler, I—uh—I’ll be right back! I think I hear my wife calling!”
He vanished before Atticus could reply, leaving behind a trail of golden sparks and a deep frown on Atticus’ face.
“Wife?” he muttered.
He turned to the other Eldorians below, who immediately paled.
“Oh, look at the time… we should go!” someone blurted.
Within seconds, the entire group vanished. Not one dared remain to face him.
And it wasn’t just the Eldorians, the millions in the coliseum were already scrambling for the exits, desperate to flee before Atticus could face them.
After three long months of absence, the God of Eldoralth had returned.
They could feel it in their bones. The fun was over.
Atticus turned back toward Ozeroth and Whisker, who were still waiting for his answer.
He studied them for a long moment before speaking.
“Wife?”
…
“My baby!”
Atticus was greeted by Anastasia, Magnus, Avalon, and the others the moment he landed on the hill.
“I’ve missed you, Mom.”
He returned Anastasia’s hug and smiled warmly.
“What took you so long?” she asked, pulling back. Atticus could only smile wryly.
As she stepped away, Avalon embraced him next.
“It’s good to have you back, son.”
“It’s good to be back.” Atticus returned the hug.
When it came to Magnus, Atticus had been the one to initiate the embrace, otherwise, he knew he’d be stuck with nothing more than a formal ‘welcome.’
Magnus hugged his grandson back and smiled warmly, though his eyes shifted to glare at Avalon, who was flashing him an amused grin.
Afterwards, Atticus greeted the others, Aurora, Ember, Caldor and finally…
“You abandoned me.”
Zoey stood with her arms crossed and a pained expression on her face.
Awkward coughs echoed through the group, followed by sly grins.
“Get a room,” Caldor whispered, loud enough for everyone to hear.
Zoey fired him a glare, but her attention quickly returned to Atticus. She’d expected him to look apologetic, maybe flustered. Instead, his expression hardened slightly.
Atticus coughed. “I’m sorry about that,” he said. “The training took longer than expected.”
He gave Zoey a brief, tense hug. When they separated, he could feel her eyes narrowing on him.
“Is something wrong?” Zoey asked quietly.
Atticus turned to her. “No. There’s nothing wrong.”
A moment of silence followed, long enough for everyone to feel the tension.
“What’s with this weird silence?” Caldor blurted. “Anyway, Atticus, we have an amazing party plann—”
The others instantly glared at him.
“Shit, I wasn’t supposed to say that,” he muttered, shooting them an apologetic look.
He shuffled closer to Atticus, placing an arm over him and whispering,
“Just pretend the last few seconds didn’t happen, okay? Otherwise our loving mother over there will have my head.”
“What are you talking about, son?” Anastasia asked sweetly.
“N-nothing.”
“Pussy,” Ember muttered.
Caldor whipped around. “I am not a pussy!”
The group burst into laughter, and even Atticus couldn’t help but join in.
‘This is it,’ he thought.
This was why he worked so hard every day, why he chased power.
To Atticus, there was nothing more important than protecting the smiles on their faces.
‘No matter what.’ He clenched his fist.
But soon enough, he felt Zoey’s gaze on him again. He turned to meet it.
‘First, I have to deal with this.’
It was time for a difficult talk.
Don’t forget to support with golden tickets and powerstones. Cheers!
