Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground - Chapter 1446 Hill

Chapter 1446 Hill
“He lost the fight.”
Yutum followed the sound to a woman standing amongst the members of the Somnera team. They glared down at him with contempt.
“Traitors!”
He followed the next voice to the other side and saw another of the Novareth team, Nate, standing with his weapon raised while staring at them coldly.
The sound of footsteps snapped him out of his reverie.
“Traitors.”
Kael walked out of the training room with composed steps. He’d reverted back to his normal look, and all his swords were somehow gone. However, he’d never felt more powerful.
This was his domain.
“Kael! Are you okay?” Nate asked, rushing to stand by him.
“Yes.”
“They suddenly attacked me. Looks like the same thing happened to you too. We need to regroup with the others.”
Kael ignored Yutum and fixed his eyes on the Somnera team members.
“We kill them first.”
The buried swords shimmered brightly, then he vanished. Their eyes tore wide.
…
The temperature was such that the air appeared distorted. Water had evaporated, metal had melted. The world was a furnace.
In the middle of this hell, Draen fixed his eyes on the one responsible.
‘What is she?’
He’d come here with four other members of the Velmirath team. All four were now dead.
‘She’s stronger than I thought.’
The heat was unbearable. He’d been forced into his ultimate form just to stand before her.
‘What is this power?’
Aurora hovered in the air like a spawn of fire. Her body was molten, red veins streaking across her skin like lava.
Her current form had been Atticus’ little gift to them after entering the grandmaster rank. He had taught and guided them on how to use his technique, elemental fusion.
Aurora had fused with her domain the moment she activated it and had grown in power to unseen heights.
‘He’s the only one left.’
Zoey stood within her flames, unharmed. Her fire only burns what she wills it to burn.
Despite this turn of events, Draen still smiled.
“See!” He bellowed, then burst into laughter, “I was right! We are one alike. I see you!”
Aurora didn’t respond. She flickered forward, throwing a molten punch.
Their collision birthed an explosion of power.
…
‘It’s possible to survive this.’
Clang!
A wave of pressure blasted out as Caldor clashed with Nira. As she started to get pushed back, he flowed with the clash, evading a thrust from behind.
“Stay still snake!”
His movements shifted, and his sword whipped out like a fast current, screaming towards the man’s neck. The man’s eyes widened but before the strike could hit, Nira’s blade blocked it.
‘This bitch.’
Caldor redirected his swing, scraping up her sword toward her head. Her hands suddenly blurred with motion, then mana exploded between them, hurling both away.
As he regained his footing, Caldor frowned.
‘Fighting two at the same time is hard… especially with one arm.’
He couldn’t help but curse those times he made fun of Ember for training so hard.
‘Look at her go.’
Ember’s domain had turned her into a radiant goddess of ice. Frost trailed her every step; her every strike was lethal.
Compared to him, she faced three Grandmasters, including their leader, and she was winning!
The battlefield was covered with ice, and her opponents had frivolous wounds across their bodies.
‘I have to try harder too.’ Caldor gripped his sword tighter. ‘Especially that bitch. I’ll kill her.’
He vanished into the sky, clashing in another explosion of force.
…
“Phew!”
With labored breaths, Anastasia wiped the sweat from her forehead.
“I still don’t know how he does this all day. It’s hard!”
Anastasia wasn’t a stranger to training, but she always ended up so tired and drained each time that she was usually reluctant to repeat. However, Atticus was the type that never felt tired of training. It was like his lifeblood.
‘I wonder how he’s doing. He said I could visit him…’ she shook her head.
‘I shouldn’t.’ Though Atticus wouldn’t mind, she didn’t want to be a bother.
She abruptly remembered Noctis and frowned. ‘When will Ozeroth bring him back?’
Since Ozeroth came to ‘borrow’ him, Anastasia hadn’t seen her bundle of joy for a while now.
‘Let’s just keep training.’
She raised her sword and continued training.
Unknowingly, outside, just below the hill, a group of men and women appeared. Each of them had the unmistakable aura of a paragon.
“Will this work?” an impatient feminine voice echoed. She was none other than Neresa, the leader of the Surnix Hold team.
“Beats me.” Rehn Valder, the leader of the Velmirath team, shrugged. “But those three seem to think so, and they got us this far.”
“Useless.” Neresa clicked her tongue and turned towards the Somnera leader, Mae Calder. “Well? What do you think?”
“I don’t know.”
“Do we even know anything?”
“Yes. Shutting up brings silence and peace.”
Neresa glared at the leader of the Khelzar team, but he only frowned. “Now stop wasting time and get on with it.”
Gritting her teeth, Neresa made hand signs in the air and a bloodied wrist appeared in front of her.
“This better work.”
As her hands blurred even more, the dome around it glowed before bursting out in a large dome that surrounded the group.
“Spectacular.” Rehn Valder praised. “This is his mana signature?”
Neresa nodded with a frown. In all honesty, she was a bit nervous. After all, they were about to kill their god’s mother.
Neresa wasn’t afraid of the consequences, but rather not fulfilling her goal.
‘Revenge.’
High Marshal Dronvet was like a father to her. That Atticus killed him demanded retribution.
‘Please work.’
According to The Three, the hill was surrounded with a rune that alerted Atticus whenever someone unauthorized came in. This was why they had gotten Caldor’s arm to use his mana signature.
Now, if this didn’t work, then this would’ve all been for nothing.
Neresa took the first step and the others followed. They stopped as they stepped onto the hill, then waited.
After a full minute, nothing happened. Neresa smiled.
“It worked.”
A cold glint shone in each of their eyes as they fixed up at the mansion on top of the hill.
Revenge.
