Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground - Chapter 1447 In Time

Chapter 1447 In Time
“Phew!”
Anastasia lowered her sword and wiped her sweat.
“That should be enough for today! I’m not built for this… haa.”
Sometimes she wondered if she was truly the one that gave birth to Atticus. Though she was not small during her peak time, she was the farthest thing from a training maniac.
“Let’s head back. Cancel.”
As the training room reverted back to normal, she grabbed the rest of her things and made her way to the door…
Boom!
“W-what…?”
The sudden impact threw her off balance. Anastasia shot back from the door, gripping her blade tightly.
‘What just happened?’
Two shadows spilled out from her, and formed into Arya and Yotad.
“Arya! What’s going on?”
“i don’t know, my lady. But something just hit the hill.” Arya gripped her twin daggers tightly as she stared at the door.
“That was an explosion. We must get you to safety, my lady!” Yotad said, drawing his weapon.
“No. We need to understand the situation first.”
Despite the crisis, Anastasia didn’t show a hint of fear. The training room was crafted by Atticus himself. If the threat outside was greater than they could handle, there was no place safer.
She moved over to the training room’s control terminal and tapped on it a few times. A large screen showing the live footage of the outside appeared. “W-what is this…”
Four figures appeared on the screen, rampaging around the hill. The mansion outside had turned into rubble, along with many other buildings around.
“Aren’t they…” Yotad muttered, growing pale.
‘The leaders of the other worlds.’
They had watched the concord games and had seen the leaders. However, there was a single fact that made their pulse jump.
“Paragons…” Anastasia muttered.
“My lady…” Arya moved to stand by her, showing a determined expression. She didn’t need to speak, but Anastasia understood the look.
‘I’ll protect you. Don’t be afraid.’
“Arya…”
If not for the situation, she would laugh. They weren’t talking about normal threats. These were paragons. Comparing grandmasters to them was like comparing a god to an ant.
“Don’t worry, my lady. I’m sure the master will come. They’re making so much commotion…”
“I doubt it,” Anastasia said quietly. Her expression tensed. “This wouldn’t even be happening if he knew. We’re on our own.”
Arya and Yotad paled, but still managed to maintain their composure.
“What now?” Yotad asked.
“We stay here,” Anastasia said.
“And await our end?”
“There’s no other option.”
…
Outside, a roar shook the entire hill.
“Where the hell is this bitch!?” Neresa’s arms blurred in front of her, every motion unleashing attacks that devastated the hill. Buildings were reduced to rubble, and a wave of fire and smoke ascended to the skies.
“Maybe she’s not here?” Rehn Valker shrugged. He walked behind the group with his arms folded behind his head like he was taking a stroll.
“No.” Caelus growled. “The three assured us that she’ll be here.”
“Maybe they were wrong?”
Caelus glared at Rehn, as if to tear the nonchalant doctor apart.
“She better be here! She better be.” Neresa unleashed another wave of attacks with a worried look.
She could feel the high marshal watching her right now. The man had raised her, molded her into the person she was. If she couldn’t even avenge his death…
‘We can’t be wrong. Please.’
All eyes turned to Mae.
“I can smell life,” Mae said quietly. “There are people here aside from us.”
The Somnera leader slowly scanned the area with her gaze before stopping at a cluster of buildings engulfed in thick smoke.
“There.” The smoke blew apart with a wave of her will.
“They’re in that one.”
Despite all the destruction she’d unleashed on the hill, the buildings still stood in one piece.
“Damn. What the hell is it made out of?” Rehn muttered.
To withstand the attack of a paragon, though not directly, it was obvious those buildings were not normal.
“It doesn’t matter.” Neresa said. Her arms blurred, unleashing a massive beam of fire that smashed into the building. The entire hill was swallowed in blazing heat and churning smoke. She snapped her hand and cleared the smoke with a blast.
“He made it.” Caelus said. Though he hadn’t mentioned his name, it caused their expressions to darken. Only one person could build something like that.
Neresa grit her teeth and stepped forward. The air around her went heavy. Mana flooded her body. The ground trembled and heeded her call. Clusters of earth rose into the air, converging into a singular colossal mass of earth whose sheer size blocked the silver moon.
She fell her hands and the earth roared forward with such speed that gales formed around it. It was about to crash when a streak of white ripped down from the sky and landed in front of the building.
The air turned heavy, then freezing cold. The incoming mass turned to ice mid flight and shattered into a blizzard of glittering shards that slowly fell from the skies.
The leaders tensed at the same time. Had they been caught?
“Phew!” a feminine voice echoed. “I’m so happy we made it in time.”
As the dust cleared, their eyes landed on two figures with snow white hair, Lyanna and Sirius Ravenstein.
“Aren’t you glad, Sirius?” Lyanna said. “If anything had happened to her, we might’ve had a repeat of the Zorvan world.”
Sirius didn’t answer. Instead, his hand gripped the hilt of his sword tightly as he gazed at the four with a glacial look.
“I’m going to make sure you four die slow, agonizing deaths. I promise you.” He had a bad feeling about the event from the beginning. But he allowed himself to be blinded by the opportunity of restoring the Ravensteins’ glory. His actions had caused all of this to happen. If they hadn’t arrived here in time, Anastasia would be dead.
“Now, I’m curious,” Lyanna said, and ice formed into daggers in her hands. “Who’s the genius behind all this?”
“Atticus slaughtered our gods,” Neresa spat. “He’s a monster that shouldn’t exist!”
“Then go face him. We both know he’s not here. I can show you where he is. Hell, I can even take you.”
Neresa gritted her teeth.
“You—”
“Neresa.” Mae said sharply, shaking her head. As Neresa breathed out and backed off, Mae turned to Lyanna.
“We’re all here for revenge. We only need his mother, no one else has to die.”
Lyanna burst into laughter. “Did you hear that, Sirius? She said we don’t have to die.” She shook her head then her voice turned cold.
“Trust me. If she dies, then we’ll all follow immediately.”
The leaders’ expressions darkened. The implication of those words were insane. The billions on this planet would die because of a single woman’s death?
