Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground - Chapter 1489 Mending

Chapter 1489 Mending
Atticus stared at the crimson map hovering in the sky with a cold gaze.
“The entire layer?” he asked.
“The entire layer,” Anorah nodded with a serious look.
“What about the other major factions?”
“All taken care of.”
‘It’s on a much larger scale than I thought.’
Beside him, Magnus and Kiara’s expressions had turned grim.
“So… even after everyone he killed…”
“Yes.” Atticus nodded at Kiara, whose eyes had grown horrified. “There’s still a much larger army waiting for us.”
A tense silence settled across the room. Atticus’ mind instinctively went into overdrive.
‘A much larger army.’
It was the last thing he’d ever expected. Even he had failed to grasp the vastness of the entire layer. To think the Redflames would conquer it all was incomprehensible.
“Who leads them?”
“From what I heard, a friend of yours.”
“Merek…”
‘At least I was right about that.’
“Though I should add that your friendship probably runs deeper now,” Anorah said. “After all, you’ve just killed two more of his children.”
Atticus didn’t visibly react.
‘Doesn’t matter.’
After all, killing two more children couldn’t deepen a hate that was already at its deepest.
‘I have to get ready.’
Atticus could feel the tension brewing in his bones. An endless army he gained nothing from killing. A strong leader whose strength was likely far beyond his.
Was the situation not truly dire?
“So…” Anorah suddenly brushed his chin with a smile, “what’s the plan?”
Atticus squinted his eyes. “Shouldn’t I be asking you that?”
She led the entire resistance. Just who should be making plans now?
“Ho. A man should always lead, no?” She turned toward Magnus. “Isn’t that right, Grandpa Magnus?”
Magnus blinked, startled as all eyes turned to him.
“Hmm? … yes.” He nodded, suddenly staring at Atticus with a firm gaze.
‘You betrayed me, Grandpa.’
Who knew Magnus had such a weakness? Give him a compliment and you’d have won him over. The Ravensteins on Eldoralth would riot when they learn this. ‘I’ll start paying him more compliments now.’
He sighed, then turned toward Anorah watching him intently with her beautiful golden eyes.
“We prepare for war.”
Anorah smiled.
“Ouhh, fierce. I like.”
Atticus cleared his throat and turned away, but stopped as she abruptly grabbed his shoulder.
‘It’s tight.’
“By the way, my sweet man. Mind explaining… that?” Anorah pointed toward the princess currently being held by Kiara. His crimson will currently enveloped her.
“You found another hot blonde in my absence, did you?”
As he met Anorah’s eyes, Atticus felt a chill crawl down his spine.
“Hmm?” Her smile didn’t reach her eyes. “Why aren’t you saying anything, my sweet man?”
‘I have to be careful with my words.’
Atticus cleared his throat and glanced toward Kiara, who had suddenly held her lady tighter.
“She saved me and got injured in the process. I owe her my life.”
“Oh.”
Anorah’s heavy aura vanished like it was never there. She cleared her throat, scratching the back of her head.
“What’s wrong with her?”
“Her will was fractured during the fight.”
“Hmm, let me see.”
Kiara drew the princess protectively closer, staring at Anorah with caution as she approached.
“It’s fine,” Atticus quickly said. “You can trust her.”
Anorah smiled. “Come on. I won’t bite.”
Though hesitant, Kiara eventually nodded. Anorah scrutinized the princess for a moment.
“Pardon me.”
Kiara’s eyes widened as Anorah stretched her arm and her will spread out, enveloping the slumbering princess.
“What are you doing!?”
“Testing a theory.” Anorah calmly shrugged, then turned toward Atticus whose eyes had narrowed in thought.
“Release your will.”
‘Could that be the reason?’
Atticus listened. The moment he retracted the will surrounding the princess, her expression twisted in pain. But as Anorah’s will enveloped her, she became peaceful again.
Magnus and Kiara stared with narrowed eyes.
“I don’t have to explain, right?”
Atticus shook his head.
‘I see.’
…
Moments later, Atticus gazed at the pale features of the petite princess as she lay peacefully on the bed. They were alone inside the room.
After Anorah’s discovery, he’d asked her for a safe space where he could work.
‘Who would think that was the answer.’
The urgency of the situation had made Atticus overlook many things. He’d attributed the healing properties of his burning will as the cause for the princess’ comfort within his will. Only now did he realize it wasn’t his will at all.
Anorah’s will had achieved the same effect with hers. And they only had one thing in common.
‘Solvath.’
Atticus let out a small breath.
‘Is this possible?’
Mending a broken will was something he hadn’t thought possible. Even seeking Whisker had only been a desperate “what if.” He doubted the man would know any way.
But the power of a primordial star? That might be different.
‘It’s worth a try.’
He could feel Kiara’s worried and hopeful presence behind the door. ‘I’ll try my best.’ The princess saved his life, and Atticus had every intention of repaying her.
‘Logoth.’
The world turned silent. Emotions vanished. Atticus entered perfect logic.
The Big Bang flashed through his mind, followed by the emergence of Solvath and the birth of the world. But Atticus observed it all with utter calm.
Solvath’s power coursed through him and he opened his glowing eyes. He stretched his arm, and a purple light burst from his palm and engulfed her.
The princess, who had been thrashing around in pain, suddenly stilled. Her breathing became peaceful. She curled up, as if comforted by the new energy.
‘It’s working.’
Solvath’s energy seeped deep within her body, and Atticus saw her broken will react as the pieces slowly mended.
The event occurring before him was truly unfathomable, something that would no doubt throw the entire middle plane into chaos. Regardless, Atticus still frowned.
‘But it’s too slow. It’ll take days at this rate.’
Time was something he currently didn’t have. The war with the Red flames was imminent. He couldn’t spare days repairing a broken will.
