Chapter 108: Chapter 102: Big Sis Is Here! We’re Saved!
Four in the afternoon,
“I can’t go on, Yuan, let’s take a break.” Zhang Hao panted heavily, waving his hand at Chen Yuan, who was walking ahead.
Chen Yuan looked back, “You’re all beastmasters now, how can your stamina still be this weak?”
Zhang Hao plopped down on a rock, gasping for air, “Not every beastmaster is as freakishly strong as you.”
Chen Yuan chuckled awkwardly, “Let’s rest for a bit then.”
Zhang Hao continuously took deep breaths, adjusting his breathing, and only when his erratic breathing returned to calm did he say, “I think we might not be able to find those two jinxed guys.”
Chen Yuan checked the time, “We still have a while before it gets dark, let’s push on and at least finish this route.”
“Naturally,” Zhang Hao nodded in agreement, “I hope those two haven’t run into any trouble and are waiting for our rescue obediently.”
“What do you think happened to them?”
“Attacked by wild pet beasts? Or caught in a landslide from last night’s heavy rain?”
Chen Yuan mused, “Whatever the reason, it doesn’t change our search and rescue mission.”
“Spark, Cola, you guys take a break too.” Chen Yuan called for Spark in the sky to come down and fed it some special pet beast food.
Since entering the mountains, Spark had been flying high up in the sky, trying to search for the missing two people.
But the dense forest blocked the view, and there had been no progress till now.
“Woof woof~”
Cola hastily finished its pet beast food, and then out of the corner of its eye, it suddenly spotted a butterfly flying away, its eyes lit up instantly, filled with hopeful glances towards Chen Yuan.
It’s a butterfly!
Chen Yuan helplessly waved his hand, “Go play, but don’t run too far. Be back in ten minutes.”
Cola was brimming with an absurd level of energy, and it was always vibrant, making it nearly impossible to stay still.
“Woof!”
Upon hearing this, Cola first licked Chen Yuan’s palm, then dashed off like the wind, chasing after the butterfly.
Zhang Hao stood up from the rock, leaned against the back of the Gray-armored Wild Boar, and as man and boar leaned on each other, his voice began to rise, “Yuan, I’ve got another idea just now.”
Chen Yuan turned his head to look.
There was a gleam of wisdom in Zhang Hao’s eyes, ideas flowed like a spring fountain, “You know how when we go climbing in other places, we usually have horses or mules to help carry supplies?”
Chen Yuan nodded.
“Then I could do the same thing, get my parents to use the group of Gray-armored Wild Boars at home to help beastmasters carry their gear.”
“Just think about it, when you go into the mountains, you’ll need lots of supplies, and carrying them yourself is too troublesome, so you need a pet beast that can carry lots of stuff.”
“Gray-armored Wild Boars would be perfect for that.” Zhang Hao’s eyebrows raised, and as he spoke, he couldn’t help but stroke the coarse skin of the Gray-armored Wild Boar, which responded by licking his face.
“This idea might actually work.” Chen Yuan thought seriously for a moment and had to admire Zhang Hao’s business acumen.
“But weren’t you planning to let your parents open a farm-stay business? Now you’re coming up with this idea too, can you handle it?” Chen Yuan asked.
Zhang Hao spread his hands, “Who would complain about having more ways to make money?”
Saying this, Zhang Hao slapped his thigh suddenly, his tone rising, “Damn, I really regret being so outstanding and loving to study back then, now I’m just a small-time forestry bureau staff.”
“If I had gone into business earlier, I might already be living in a mansion and driving luxury cars.”
…
“Woof?”
Cola emerged from the bushes, shaking its head to get rid of the leaves, its blue eyes looking around curiously.
“Woof!”
In a split second, Cola’s eyes widened.
The butterfly?!?
Without the trace of the butterfly, Cola immediately felt life dull; it let out a sorrowful cry and prepared to return to its master’s side.
Bang bang bang!
A series of banging sounds suddenly came from nearby; Cola’s ears perked up, and it immediately raced off excitedly toward the sound.
Tearing through the bushes, startling a flock of birds.
Before long,
Cola stopped, raised its head, and looked ahead—a bear cub about the same size as itself was standing in front of a big tree, continuously pounding on it with its brown paws.
With each “bang” sound, the tree swayed slightly, rustling leaves falling down.
Cola looked up in wonder, seeing something golden hanging at the top of the tree, swaying with each thud, exuding a fragrance that made Cola drool.
“Woof!”
Cola swallowed, and immediately trotted up to the bear cub, gently pawing its back.
“Roar?”
The bear cub turned its head in confusion, seeing an unfamiliar pet beast it had never encountered before, it instinctively took a half-step back.
In the next moment, a hint of irritation flashed in the bear cub’s eyes, and it swiped a paw at Cola as if to scare it off, “Roar roar~”
Don’t bother me!
“Woof woof woof~”
Cola wasn’t frightened at all; instead, it pointed at the thing hanging from the tree and mimicked the motion of hitting the tree.
I’ll help you!
At first, the bear cub clearly didn’t understand what Cola meant. It tilted its head, pondering.
But when it saw Cola looking eagerly at it, the bear cub slowly nodded, “Roar roar~”
Cola, already all fired up, was about to tackle the tree but then noticed the bear cub’s expression getting serious; it gripped its own cheeks with its paws and pulled, making its face puff up like a balloon, reminiscent of a ball Cola once saw in town.
“Roar roar!”
The bear cub gave a solemn reminder.
We gotta hurry, or when those guys come back, we’re doomed.
“Woof woof.”
Cola didn’t quite understand but still nodded. Then, together with the bear cub, it started hitting the tree.
