Chapter 97: Chapter 96: Spark’s Terrifying Strength
Zhou Xu followed closely behind Wang Jianping, his curiosity getting the better of him as he couldn’t help but ask again, “Mr. Wang, don’t keep me in suspense.”
Wang Jianping suddenly stopped, his deep gaze fixed on the combat room at the end of the corridor that was lit up, his voice tinged with amusement: “Our Advisor Chen has brought another surprise.”
“Chen Yuan?” Zhou Xu reacted instantly, pulling out his phone to find a message from Chen Yuan sent an hour ago. He had set his phone to airplane mode because he was in a meeting.
“The message just came from the front desk; Chen Yuan’s here and wants to certify as a mid-tier Beastmaster.” Wang Jianping’s emotion gradually returned to calm.
“Mid-tier Beastmaster?” Zhou Xu was taken aback.
“Seems like you didn’t know about this,” Wang Jianping glanced at Zhou Xu’s reaction and said blandly.
Zhou Xu helplessly replied, “Mr. Wang, if I knew about this, I would’ve told you sooner.”
Wang Jianping said nothing, stepping forward, his voice steady: “Let’s go, Xu, let’s meet our Baokun City Beastmaster Association’s first mid-tier Beastmaster.”
“Mr. Wang, he hasn’t been certified yet….” Zhou Xu reminded in a low voice.
“Having the courage to certify means it’s already a sure thing.” Wang Jianping smiled slightly, striding into the combat room.
Scanning the room, his eyes fell on the young man sitting on the bench and he slowly walked forward.
Yun, who was pouring tea for Chen Yuan, looked up as Wang Jianping approached, nodding in greeting before stepping aside: “President.”
Wang Jianping nodded slightly and extended his right hand towards Chen Yuan: “Pleasure to finally meet you, Advisor Chen.”
Yun, standing with her eyes lowered, was secretly startled. As far as she knew, there were more than ten officers within the Association, but only two advisors.
It was said that these two advisors were powerful Beastmasters and had made outstanding contributions to the Association.
But she never expected that the last Beastmaster she received before clocking out was one of those advisors.
Chen Yuan stood up as Wang Jianping entered the combat room, extending his hand in return: “President.”
He then nodded towards Zhou Xu behind Wang Jianping: “Zhou.”
Wang Jianping said, “I heard you’re here to certify as a mid-tier Beastmaster?”
“Yes.” Chen Yuan nodded.
“Then let’s first see your Meditation Level.” Wang Jianping suggested.
“Alright.” Chen Yuan was silently surprised by Wang Jianping’s efficient approach, with no intention of small talk.
But he liked this straightforward leadership style, so he quickly moved to the battle area. With a thought, a white circle array with intricate patterns appeared in front of him, Spark emerging slowly surrounded by white light.
Zhou Xu held down his excitement, whispering, “White Summoning Array, his Meditation Level has indeed reached mid-tier.”
Wang Jianping clapped gently, a faint smile appearing on his face: “Advisor Chen, among all registered Beastmasters in Baokun City, you are the first to have your Meditation Level reach mid-tier.”
“If your Pet Beast reaches Tier Two as well, you can certify as Baokun City’s first mid-tier Beastmaster.”
Zhou Xu interjected: “President, our Association currently seems unable to conduct the mid-tier Beastmaster certification.”
Chen Yuan was stunned.
According to Jiang Wenning, certifying a mid-tier Beastmaster requires a Pet Beast battle, but Baokun City lacks a second mid-tier Beastmaster. Who could assess Spark’s true strength?
“Who said that?” Wang Jianping revealed a confident smile, having already considered everything, “The mid-tier Beastmaster from the Investigation Department is still around, no?”
“We’ll invite him over for a friendly match with Advisor Chen.”
“Just so he can also witness the real capabilities of Baokun City Beastmaster Association.”
Seeing Chen Yuan’s puzzled expression, Wang Jianping briefly explained: “A couple of days ago, Baokun City had an emergency involving Tier Two Extraordinary Creatures, so the Investigation Department sent a mid-tier Beastmaster to handle it.”
After a slight pause, he looked at Chen Yuan with a smile: “But starting today, I believe we can handle such matters ourselves.”
Meanwhile,
Zhou Xu asked Yun, “Is he still in the lounge area?”
Yun replied, “Room number three in the lounge area.”
“Well you…” Zhou Xu shook his head, “Never mind, I’ll go invite him personally.”
With that, Zhou Xu briskly walked out of the combat room, while Wang Jianping sat beside Chen Yuan, finally initiating a round of pleasantries.
“Are you accustomed to living in the mountains? Is your daily expenditure adequate? Does the duty of a Forest Ranger affect your Meditation and Pet Beast training?”
A slew of questions surfaced, and Chen Yuan answered each one.
At last, Wang Jianping placed the teacup down, asking the most crucial question: “Do you want to develop in the city?”
Without waiting for Chen Yuan’s reply, he continued: “Life in the mountains is certainly leisurely, and I understand your particular fondness for rural life, but if you’re willing to move to the city, we’ll take care of your food, clothing, housing, transportation, and any material needs.”
“And your grandfather, we’ll ensure he receives the best retirement care.”
“All you need to do is Meditate and train your Pet Beast.”
Standing aside, Yun appeared outwardly calm, but internally, emotions were surging.
She was already imagining what kind of carefree and fulfilling life she’d have every day if she possessed Chen Yuan’s talent.
Chen Yuan shook his head, politely declining: “President, thank you for your kindness, but I currently have no intention of moving to the city.”
“Staying in the mountains allows my Pet Beasts to progress faster.”
Seeing Chen Yuan’s firm attitude, Wang Jianping sighed inwardly but did not persuade further.
The two fell into a brief silence, but fortunately, Zhou Xu’s voice soon rang out: “President, Advisor Chen, I’ve brought Captain Su over.”
