Chapter 707: Chapter 315: Operation Kill Fish on West Dragon Lake_3
Su Ping clicked his tongue but didn’t pay much attention. “Sure! I’ll find some time to come and see!”
“Come over; it’s a good time. I’m also on Crescent Island these days. You have no idea how bustling it is here now. If you need help when you get here, just give me a call. I can have someone pick you up…”
Speaking of which, Su Ping had indeed noticed that since returning to Linzhou, the number of customers at his Heart of Cloud had significantly increased.
Most importantly, the bus that had its terminal station in the East Suburb right at their entrance was much more frequent.
Of course, what truly stood out were the lines of rarely seen cars heading toward West Dragon Lake.
Are these people the Beast Tamers heading to Crescent Island?
After chatting with Qin Erlong for a couple more sentences, Su Ping hung up the phone and rubbed Xiao Qing’s almost insubstantial head.
Then he turned to Qian Yi and Little Flame.
“Qian Yi, Xiao Qing, get ready; we’re heading into battle!”
Upon hearing this, Qian Yi’s eyes immediately lit up with excitement. “WUWAH!” it cried out. “Awesome!”
Ever since the New Year passed, all of Su Ping’s attention had been on Xiao Qing, leaving Qian Yi feeling pent-up. Was it finally time to show off on the battlefield and settle the score with this wolf-like entity?
Thinking this, Qian Yi glanced at Xiao Qing. Its two-dimensional paper-like face immediately turned serious. “WUWAH!” it declared. “I won’t lose to you!”
Xiao Qing’s pale green eyes, set within the pitch-black sockets formed by its Green Demon Body that burned like azure flames, flickered over this fellow, ignoring it.
Before, this restless creature did have some skill.
However, after completing its evolution, even though many of its abilities might not have effects as visually direct in battle as Qian Yi’s, it was still confident that this time the battlefield would be its home turf!
Only Little Flame, with its fiery red pupils, watched these two intently.
And that human, grinning on the side but with genuine emotion in his eyes—the consciousness, which hadn’t existed for long, also had a thought it had never had before at this moment:
Perhaps becoming this human’s Pet Beast isn’t such an unbearable thing?
However, no sooner had the thought appeared than Little Flame quickly shook its head!
It was all an illusion!
It glared angrily at the despicable human. “HISS HISS HISS!” it seethed. Humans… are too sneaky…
Su Ping couldn’t be bothered with this Little Flame and its routine persecution complex. He simply reached out and returned it to the Beast Taming Space.
From what he could see, the changes in Little Flame were already pretty good.
Xiao Qing’s evolution, their mutual contact…
He could tell that Little Flame had an innate urgency to improve its strength; this was Su Ping’s best bargaining chip to make the little thing submit!
Hmm… Once we reach Crescent Island, during the battle, I’ll let this little thing out to experience for itself the abilities of Xiao Qing and Qian Yi as my Pet Beasts.
At this thought, Su Ping’s ambition surged.
However, he glanced outside at the sky; Xiao Qing’s evolution had taken the better part of a day.
He had gotten up early in the morning, and now dusk was already approaching.
Su Ping didn’t rush to head straight to Crescent Island.
The flood hadn’t formed overnight.
When he had previously gone to Beiyuan and called Commander Zhao, the latter had mentioned it once, although it didn’t seem too serious back then.
Half a month had passed, so naturally, it wasn’t something that would diminish in just a day or two.
Taking advantage of the light before dusk, Su Ping inspected the rest of the Heart of Myriad Spirits.
Over at the Heart of Earth, where the infrastructure was still being laid out, there wasn’t much to see.
At the Heart of Soul, however, he paid more attention.
The framework for the adventure-style haunted house, a base for Undead Pet Beasts, had been under development for half a month. Under the efforts of Bai Cang and the young female designer—also surnamed Bai, whose full name Su Ping didn’t know and whom he always called Sister Bai—things had progressed.
Aside from the Death Farm, initially responsible for placing scarecrows, some of the simpler scenes had also entered their final stages after this half-month.
This pleased Su Ping greatly. However, due to the tight schedule, he hadn’t had the chance to see how Bai Cang was doing with training and managing the Undead Pet Beasts they had purchased.
But Su Ping had heard from Uncle Guan that Bai Cang was making good progress, so he was quite satisfied with his performance these days.
If things work out, Bai Cang will likely stay and work at the Heart of Soul within the Heart of Myriad Spirits, he surmised.
Although Su Ping wasn’t a formally trained Undead Cultivator, his achievements were more attractive than those of the vast majority of Undead Cultivators.
Moreover, Breeder Jian Yue and Master Yin from the Heavenly Tomb might also visit in the future.
Su Ping had great confidence in the development of his Heart of Soul.
In addition, what caught Su Ping’s attention the most was undoubtedly the small commercial street across from the main entrance of the Heart of Myriad Spirits. It was composed of a row of four-story shop-houses, for which the foundations had been laid and construction had reached the fourth floor.
Speaking of which, Su Ping had mentioned to Dong Muyun his idea of using the Heart of Dreams to build a Heart of Dreams virtual game experience pavilion there. Dong Muyun had readily agreed and also subtly urged him to expedite the new batch of the Heart of Dreams.
Regarding the progress of the Heart of Dreams, one couldn’t help but mention Feifei.
It seemed this fellow hadn’t popped up to see him for a while.
However, compared to the somewhat dull lives of Xiao Qing and Qian Yi, Feifei was living an interesting and fulfilling life on its own, piggybacking on internet connections. Except when it needed allowance money, which it never failed to ask for on time, it was nowhere to be found the rest of the time. Indeed, it didn’t require Su Ping’s concern.
Thinking of this, Su Ping couldn’t be bothered with this unambitious, slacker mechanical core.
After all, creating the Heart of Dreams was no longer a challenge for it.
For battles, Xiao Qing and Qian Yi were enough.
Finally, another night passed.
Early in the morning, Su Ping appeared at the entrance of his Heart of Myriad Spirits, full of vigor and in high spirits.
Still in that same outfit!
The soft Scale Armor, made from Ironrock Giant Lizard scales, was resilient enough to withstand direct attacks from some Monarch-class Pet Beasts.
He rode on the back of Old Sha, now a Monarch Second Rank. With the Heart of the Sun’s enhancement, Old Sha’s raw power was enough to contend with any Pet Beast below Emperor Level!
Beside him was Qian Yi, the little paperman. It had activated ’Flying Immortal,’ its paper cape flowing like silk strands in the wind, giving it an ethereal, soaring appearance.
On his other side was Xiao Qing, seemingly enveloped in azure flames.
And what deserved special mention was that this operation, aside from Old Sha and his two Pet Beasts, had one more participant.
It was the mutant Flame-Eating Crow perched on Su Ping’s shoulder—the little crow, Toothy, which was on the verge of completing its ancestral evolution.
The little crow needed to consume Flame Fruits daily to aid its transformation into a Darkflame Ancient Raven.
Su Ping didn’t know how long he would be on Crescent Island. Though it wasn’t far, traveling back and forth would be a hassle, so he decided to bring Toothy along. It wasn’t much extra trouble, anyway.
So, riding on Old Sha, Su Ping raised his mechanical weapon and roared, “Set off! This operation shall be known as: The Fish Killing Operation!”
ROAR!
AWOO!
WUWAH!
CAW CAW!
