Beautiful Beast - Page 133
“A man with a plan. You’ve really thought of everything.”
He leads me back toward the platter of amazing food and pours us each a glass of champagne.
“Now we really have something to celebrate,” he says.
And then I take a moment to just soak him in.
Reallysoak him in.
Adam is so much more than sexy. His gorgeous blue eyes are gazing deep into mine, and he looks so damn happy, like he has the entire world in his hands.
The magnitude of what we’ve just agreed to do together hits me full force.
I’m going to marry this man.
Have his babies.
And live with him for the rest of my life.
“We’re seriously getting married,” I say, awe dripping from my voice.
“We sure as hell are,” Adam returns.
“And you’re going to impregnate me.”
He winces. “I wouldn’t word it quite like that, but yeah. I have a lot of generational sins to make up for. And you’re right. I can – and will – be a good dad.”
“The best,” I assure him.
“Let’s get started,” Adam says. “No time like the present. I’ve always wanted a shotgun wedding with a princess.”
He picks me up and throws me over his shoulder, carrying me over the threshold of our villa that is about to be christened.
I can’t take everything in, but there’ll be time to explore later.
Adam tosses me on the bed, falling with me and covering my body with his. He kisses my neck and I moan, already getting lost in his touch and this perfect moment.
“Adam?” I whisper. “You were wrong about something.”
“What’s that?”
“Youaremy Prince Charming.”
Emotion burns his eyes and his touch switches from eager to tender. “And you’re my everything. I’ve never belonged to anyone before, but now I do – to you. Forever.”
My heart explodes, and I know that I’ll be waking up all night, just making sure that tonight wasn’t a dream.
Looking at my perfect man.
Touching my perfect ring.
Ensuring that this magical existence is really my life.
Fairy tales do come true, and happily ever after does exist.
