Bind Me - Page 121
My lips purse as I study Hunter. If Blake is always with me while we’re here, I might not get a chance to prove Hunter’s the stalker. If he is.
Maybe I should mention my thoughts to Blake and see how he wants to proceed. His jaw ticks as he listens to Hunter. His fist clenches and releases a few times before he shakes it out. Maybe Blake is too jealous right now. Maybe I can talk to him on the way to the restaurant, and we can figure out a strategy together.
They finish talking and Hunter’s blue eyes find me. He gives me a cocky grin, like he’s already got me trapped and I don’t know it yet. But if I have my way, I’ll trap him.
Chapter 37
Punishment
Blake
After Hunter finally leaves, I settle at the conference table and check in with Courtney, Theo, and Peter. It’s a small team, but Taylor’s isn’t as big as some of our customers. We aren’t sure who the mole is, but Courtney is frequently on our implementation teams.
Given her Saturday work coinciding with Madison’s attack, she seems like a likely suspect. But I’m not ruling out Peter. They’re teamed together often, and both their names show up on the files of clients who were contacted and left.
“Any issues?” I ask them.
Courtney raises her blue eyes to me and shakes her head. She was friends with Andrea when the whole thing went down. Though she’s never said anything, we can’t be sure Andrea didn’t tell her everything. I can’t tell if they’re still in contact.
“Nothing yet. Everything is going smoothly.” Theo nods as he leans back in his chair. His dark skin contrasts with his white dress shirt. His hair is in cornrows, and his dark eyes spark with intelligence. He’s one of my top programmers.
Peter turns to look at Courtney before looking at me. His dirty blond hair falls into his eyes. As soon as his brown eyes meet mine, he looks down at his computer. “Everything’s good so far.”
He’s an introvert who works best on his own. But he focuses on his work when the others might get distracted, so even in a team he’s effective.
I grunt as I open my laptop. Madison quietly works next to me. When I called her on that guy, she was a firecracker, ready to burst. My fingers still itch with the need to punish her smart little mouth.
Fuck. I adjust my cock. Thinking about her mouth has me at half-mast. It’s bad enough having her in our office within reach with a lockable office door. But with her right next to me, her soft floral scent invades my thoughts, and the musky smell of her arousal makes me want to drag her back to that empty office and make good use of her mouth.
I shake off my thoughts and focus on the work in front of me, and not how much more effective my work would be if she slid under the table and sucked me off like she did in the apartment. Lunch can’t come soon enough.
Eventually, we all fall into a rhythm. The work slowly takes my mind off the punishment Madison deserves. The clacking of keys is the only sound in the conference room. My phone vibrates and I check out the text.
Seth:
Still on for lunch?
I scan the room and stand to stretch. Courtney glances up with her mouth pinched before returning to work.
Me:
Yes, leaving soon.
Seth:
Good. Anything?
Me:
No.
I wish I had more to tell him. Whoever is scaring away clients is sneaky as fuck about it. If Jason Harper hadn’t told us, we’d still be standing around with our flies open not even realizing someone was costing us customers and profit.
“Madison.” My tone is thick.
She raises her eyes from her screen, still typing while she looks at me.
“Lunch.” Fuck it. I need to get out of here.
