Bind Me - Page 93
No one is Coop hot. But Fox has a carefree attitude and is cute.
Me:
Maybe not Coop-level hot, but he’s good-looking. I don’t know much about him. He delivers the groceries.
Hope:
??
Me:
I’ll text you when we head back down to the lobby, so you can sneak a peek at him on his way out.
Hope:
Ok
Fox returns with the second load, and I slip my phone into my pocket.
“You made it another week,” he exclaims as I push the button for the apartment level.
“So have you.” I raise my eyebrow.
He grins and leans into the corner with his hands in his pockets. “You liking the job?”
“It suits me.” Warmth creeps up my neck. This morning and afternoon have been busy, and I still have work to do, but my bosses like to fuck me. And often. And I definitely enjoy being fucked by them.
“You definitely aren’t like the others.” He chuckles.
I don’t even want to know what that means. The elevator reaches our floor, and I hold the door open while he unloads. I hurry to the apartment door to open it for him as he carries a couple of bags inside.
Helping him bring in the bags, I set them on the counter. When we finish, I take out my phone and text Hope the word Now.
“You sure you don’t want me to help put these away?” Fox blows his hair out of his eyes as he looks me over. He’s asked that every week so far. It’s kind of sweet, but also not allowed.
“I’ve got it from here.” I lead him to the door and call the elevator. “Thank you for the offer.”
Fox shrugs as he enters the elevator. “If I thought you’d say yes, I’d ask you to coffee sometime.”
“I’m not really available.” I press the ground floor and take a breath. Thank goodness I now have an excuse. “I’m seeing someone.”
“Knew I should have asked weeks ago.”
Smiling softly to let him down easy, I shake my head. “Not sure the answer would have been yes then, either.”
“That’s a shame.” Fox leans into the corner.
The elevator is mercifully quick, and when the doors open, Fox flashes me a grin. “See you next week.”
My gaze darts around, looking for Hope. “Yeah, see you.”
He heads out with his hands in his pockets, whistling. I pull out my phone and check to see if Hope read my text.
“Hold the elevator.”
The receptionist looks at who called out. I turn to see Coop heading toward me. He gives me a huge grin and pulls me into his arms. I don’t have time to react as his lips take mine. This isn’t a light peck but a we’re-definitely-fucking type of kiss. For a moment, everything around us fades away as I fall into his kiss.
“Thanks, sweetheart.” Coop raises his gaze to look over my shoulder and winks at the receptionist, who I imagine caught this whole thing. My cheeks flush with heat as he straightens.
