Boss Me - Page 155
I cup his cheek and breathe out. “Good.”
He kisses me before tipping my face toward Noah. His dark eyes search mine as he slips a finger inside me again. A tiny burst of release sweeps through me.
“So fucking responsive.” Noah takes my mouth with his and pulls out his finger. While we kiss, Coop uses the towel to clean me up. When Noah leans his forehead against mine, I open my eyes to his dark ones.
“I love you, kitten.”
I press my lips against his and say, “I love you.”
He draws away to pull my panties back on. Coop sweeps his fingers over my lower lip.
“I love you, Coop.”
His smile is surprised and genuine when he kisses me lightly. “I love you, sweetheart.”
Chapter 126
Business Opportunities
Madison
“Deidre Byrne, but you can call me Dee. Everyone else does.” Deidre gives me a wink while she shakes my hand. “I was a little worried about the boys’ club, but they’re the best in the business, so I knew I had to at least meet with them.”
“They are the best at what they do,” I assure her.
Deidre is a little taller than me with more sensible heels on. Her gray hair is swept into a bun low on her head. Her dark eyes have a spark of intelligence and kindness. The crinkles around her eyes dance when she smiles.
She leans in close to me. “It doesn’t hurt that they’re good looking too.”
I can’t help my smile. “Definitely.”
Coop leads me to my chair and holds it out for me to sit. Seth does the same for Dee.
“And gentlemen too. My goodness. You’ll have this old woman’s heart all in a flutter.” Dee sits and smiles at Seth.
“We aim to please, Ms. Byrne.”
“Dee, please. I’m too young to be Ms. anything.” She waves off the words like an unpleasant odor. “So are you just a pretty young thing to these guys or are you sharp too?”
My eyes widen at her directness. “Uh . . .”
“She’s intelligent and working on learning the ropes so someday she can lead her own company.” Seth’s voice brims with pride as he looks at me.
My heart flutters and my cheeks grow warm.
“Working with all of us gives her experience with each of our different roles.” Blake leans back in his chair. “She’s a quick learner and an invaluable asset to the company.”
“Beauty and brains and a group of men who know how to appreciate you. My word, you’ve got it made, young lady.” Dee leans her elbows on the table and rests her chin on her hands. Her dark eyes take me all in. “Very interesting.”
The waiter comes by with drinks and takes our orders.
“Let’s talk business, gentlemen.” Dee leans back in her chair and absorbs every word the guys have. Asking questions from time to time. Every now and then, her gaze falls on me with a thoughtful expression.
Coop tangles his fingers with mine below the table and squeezes them. This woman is exactly who I want to grow up to be. She’s in charge of her company and doesn’t care what people think about her product line as long as her customers are happy.
Dinner arrives, and the conversation revolves more around what Morrigan can do for her companies. When the check arrives, Dee sits back in her chair and eyes me again.
“What’s your plan then, Madison?” Dee folds her hands on the table.
