Brand New Life Online: Rise Of The Goddess Of Harvest - Chapter 1645: Ancient Ruins

Chapter 1645: Ancient Ruins
—–
Once we reached the floor, there was perpetual silence, and underground forests of mushrooms and crystal trees, spirits floated and moved everywhere, little Crystal, Stone, and Metal Fae walked around, greeting us in silence.
The walls were of blue, glowing colors, and there were also ruins in this place, yes, the ruins of ancient civilizations, which once lived in Avalon, these ruins had strange runes carved into their stone walls, some of them with whole statues intact, depicting giant people covered with stone plates.
“Wow, what’s this place?” Gabriel asked.
“These are… I have never been here, but I’ve heard that there are ruins…” Katherine said. “Indeed, they must be the Ruins of the Stone People.”
“Stone People?” Elena asked.
“They’re… well, how do I put it? Well, they are ancient people that once existed in Avalon before King Oberon even made a Kingdom. They were among the first civilizations and intelligent beings. It was said they were giants covered on stone plates…” Katherine said.
“But why did they disappear then? What happened?” Anna wondered. “Did your King…?”
“Oh no, we don’t think he did anything, he was still growing up, it took him thousands of years to become an adult after all,” Katherine said. “He lived on his own within the Great Spirit Tree of Avalon, which is said to have been born from a Seed of Yggdrasil that King Oberon planted, which was what created this Realm over time… this was just another civilization he didn’t see up close as he mostly was growing and slumbering in those times… many people came and went without even knowing he existed. This civilization too, met its end on its own.”
“Oh…” I muttered, nodding. “I guess that’s quite interesting when you put it that way… so they were Stone People? I do wonder if they’re related to any other being in this Realm or something?”
“Probably not, they are too different to be related, I believe,” Katherine said. “The Stone People is quite strong and seem to be rather huge, there’s… not really any other race that way, perhaps the Trolls? They are also… hmm, now that I think about it, they might be related to Trolls.”
“Trolls you say?” I asked. “Where do those live?”
“In Mountains, deep in freezing Mountains, we might finally meet them once we move to the snowy mountains tomorrow,” Katherine said. “They aren’t… well, they aren’t too bad. As long as you don’t mess with them. It would be better to not try to speak or interact with them unless they interact with us first.”
“Huh, alright, can’t wait to meet them,” I said with a smile. “Anyway, I think… yeah, over there.”
We stepped moving, as I looked into the far distance, behind the mushroom and crystal tree forests, there was something, an immense, dark, and crimson presence.
“It’s over there, let’s hurry!”
We quickly unleashed our Auras, boosting our movement speed and rushing towards our destination, in the way there, though…
CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!
RUMBLE!
The floor, ceiling, and walls far away started shattering and breaking open, as giant Earth Eaters started coming out from their tunnels, noticing us and hissing, rushing towards us the moment after.
“GRYAARRRGGH!”
They came in huge droves, moving way faster than their small builds should allow them to do so, and clawing their way through the forests as we flew as quickly as we could.
“Come!”
I quickly unleashed my aura, turning it into giant dragon claws and grabbing everyone with me, Mark sprouted his phoenix wings, helping us fly even faster towards our goal.
“GRUOOOHHHH!”
As this happened, more and more and more damn moles appeared everywhere, until we were being chased by hundreds of them from every single angle.
However, we had yet to engage for a reason, and that was…
“Over there, mom!”
Elena pointed into the distance, as we found what we were looking for, a giant mass of several black mushrooms and black and red spirit crystals, gloating constantly while releasing a foul miasma.
Surrounding it were powerful Giant Mole Kings, which were thrice as big as the rest, with golden claws and horns, and even bigger and stronger, muscular builds.
“The crystal looks a bit different than the other though?” Rita asked.
“Wait! Who the hell is that?!” Jenny asked, pointing at the distance, as she noticed something we also noticed.
There was someone over there, right next to Corruption Crystal, a tall, lanky looking being standing there, holding a black and red staff made of mushrooms and wood, embedded with various red crystals.
He had a mushroom cap and had… a mushroom-like body, but was clearly stranger, it wasn’t a normal, small and cute Myconid, it was lanky, tall, and creepy, with white and blue mushroom skin, wearing a black coat over its body, and creepy, glowing eyes beneath its cap.
“Aaah, what a pain… How did you even get here? This isn’t supposed to be happening…” he groaned angrily and lazily, looking rather tired. “I’m sorry but I cannot let you mess with my King’s plans, whoever you are, goodbye.”
With his lazy voice, he ordered the moles to attack us even as we floated, rapidly beginning to climb each other into huge towers made of their own bodies, rushing towards us constantly, as if they were as coordinated as ants.
“That mushroom guy is definitely controlling them beyond just making them go crazy!” Mark said. “We have to stop him, and shatter that crystal!”
“Yeah, but first…”
As we were being swarmed by the moles, I quickly grew my arms into huge branches and trees, combining them into a gigantic wooden cannon, loading it with as much Mana and Spirit Energy as I could…
Yes, this was my World Boss Skill, it was Soul-Bound after its evolution!
“{Divine Yggdrasil Cannon Of Destruction}”
TRUUUM!
A gigantic ray of rainbow light was fired, engulfing hundreds of moles at once and disintegrating them completely, the beam engulfed half of the wide caves into a massive explosion, whoever survived the first impact was sent flying away.
BOOOMMM!!!
“W-What the?!”
The strange Myconid magician was shocked, glancing at the scene in utter disbelief.
