Brand New Life Online: Rise Of The Goddess Of Harvest - Chapter 1789: New Class

Chapter 1789: New Class
—–
“Oh yeah, blame it all on the system when the problem lies elsewhere,” Sailor muttered. “If anything, the system is just helping us survive in here while you all try to—”
Before he could finish, Elayne covered his mouth with a thick layer of mushrooms and moss, silencing him completely.
He tried to use his soul to speak, but Elayne touched it gently. Chains of cursed energy wrapped around him, holding him still.
“Don’t.”
“…”
“Sorry again,” Elayne said softly.
“Hm… no, it’s fine,” Blank replied with a faint smile. “He’s not wrong.”
“He isn’t,” Mark agreed. “But it’s better not to say those things here. Tell us about your goddess, Blank. Are there other gods you worship?”
“Besides the White Mist Ghost Mother, we revere other legendary divinities like the Nether Titan, the former King of the Netherworld,” Blank explained. “Many families worship him as their true god. Most Noble Races were born from his corpse, and this labyrinth where we live originated from him as well.”
“Hm…” Elayne nodded thoughtfully. “What about those statues next to the crystal?”
“They represent Nula and Luna, the Dual Goddesses of Nether and Blight,” Blank continued. “I’m not certain they truly existed…”
“I see…” Elayne studied the statues. Both goddesses resembled White Ghosts but were draped in many robes, wielding shields and swords. “Is it our turn?”
“Yes,” Blank confirmed. “Go ahead.”
After waiting a few minutes in line, Elayne stepped forward. She placed her palm on the blue Class Changing Stone and felt a powerful surge course through her body.
“W-Wow?”
The energy condensed within her body, soul, and spirit before spreading even further.
“T-This is…?”
A symbol appeared within the crystal. She had expected to choose her class, but one was assigned automatically.
NPCs couldn’t select classes, and now, as a natural inhabitant rather than a Player, Elayne had no such choice either.
The symbol depicted a woman formed from black and brown wood. One half was dark wood, the other lighter brown. The brown side sprouted green leaves and colorful flowers, while the black side grew eerie plants and mushrooms.
The figure had wooden horns and a long, spiked tail. It possessed four arms covered in thorns, ending in sharp claws.
Its serene face held four farming tools, one in each hand.
“W-What is this Class?”
She had expected a basic novice class at most, but the system seemed to have something grand in mind, likely due to her unique existence.
[Congratulations! You have unlocked the Job Class: [Nether Spirit Harvester – Tier 1]]
[Your Level Cap has increased to Level 100]
[All of your Stats have increased by +5,000]
[You have acquired the Class Skill: [Harvest of Duality – Tier 1: Level 1/10]: Allows the user to reap both life and death essence from plants, fungi, and corrupted flora. The harvested essence can be stored within the body and later released to heal allies or poison enemies depending on the invoked side of duality. This Essence can be infused into physical objects and plants to transform them into various items or enhanced plants.]
“Hm?!”
Elayne’s eyes widened at her new Skill and Class name. It was extraordinary. She had gained a transformative Skill that could accelerate her farm’s growth and allow even more efficient plant modification.
It was versatile enough to attack enemies by infusing them with life essence—lethal to most Netherworld beings—or strengthen allies with death essence.
She could store the energy and use it on herself, temporarily boosting her strength or accelerating her learning of Cultivation Methods and Cursed Runes that required such energies.
“What is this strange class?” Blank wondered aloud. “Nether Spirit Harvester? And… Harvest of Duality? W-Wha…! That’s almost god-like power…”
“Shhh!” Elayne quickly placed a hand over his mouth. “P-Please lower your voice, Lord Blank…!”
“Hmm? Ah…” He nodded, blushing slightly. “I’m sorry.”
Some nearby people had overheard and glanced over. As a Noble Ghost Race member, Blank naturally drew attention.
“What did he say?”
“God-like power?”
“Huh?”
“Surely he’s joking…”
“Did someone hear what that zombie woman got?”
“First time I’ve seen a zombie receive a class…”
“Ah, it’s nothing, everyone,” Elayne said quickly, bowing politely to ease suspicions. “My… my master was just teasing me, mocking my clumsiness.”
“That’s right,” Blank played along, placing a hand on Elayne’s hip. “She’s merely my slave, so don’t mind me. I enjoy teasing her now and then. She is indeed quite inept and clumsy.”
“E-Eh?” Elayne blushed in surprise. “L-Lord Blank, please move your hand…”
“What? But you belong to me. You said so yourself,” Blank smiled.
His eyes widened as a massive, blazing hand gripped his shoulder. A chill ran down his spine.
“I hope you were joking.”
It was Mark, jealousy flaring suddenly. Smoke and flames poured from his body.
“Hah…”
Blank smiled bitterly, releasing Elayne and patting the giant’s shoulder.
“Go ahead. Take your class so we can leave quickly.”
“…Hmph.”
Mark restrained himself from grabbing the White Ghost Noble as he approached the crystal. He sighed and touched it.
FLASH!
A new class emerged for him, just as unique as Elayne’s.
[Congratulations! You have unlocked the Job Class: [Blazing Soul Death Knight – Tier 1]]
[Your Level Cap has increased to Level 100]
[All of your Stats have increased by +5,000]
[You have acquired the Class Skill: [Soul of Eternal Flames – Tier 1: Level 1/10]: Direct contact with your soul will burn targets unless you choose otherwise, dealing massive damage to Undead-type foes in particular. Your Soul Flames now possess purifying and holy effects, granting greater power and manipulation. Soul Flames recharge by burning Nether, Ghostly Energies, and compatible materials or food. With practice, Soul Flames can solidify into Soul Flame Weapons or separate into smaller Soul Flame Spirits.]

On the outskirts of White Tooth Village, soldiers guarding the entrance chatted idly to pass the time.
“Hm?”
However, one noticed something strange atop a distant hill covered in black flowers.
It resembled a skeletal wolf creature, sniffing the blooms and the air.
“…? What is that thing?”
“Some wild Bone Beast? Ignore it unless it approaches.”
“Huh…”
The guards dismissed it, only for the creature to stare directly at White Tooth Village with glowing phantasmal eyes.
A dark voice echoed from within, reaching far toward its Main Body.
“Found them.”
