Chapter 1814: Evolved Ghostly Spirit Consciousness
—–
Elayne gazed at the list of materials she had gathered for the skill evolution, wondering what powerful new form it would take.
[The [Ghostly Spirit Consciousness – Tier 1: Level 10/10] Skill has reached Max Level and is ready to Rank Up to Tier 2. Once a Skill reaches a new Tier, more Levels are unlocked and it can continue growing stronger.]
[To evolve your Skill, you require necessary and compatible materials]:
[Five Tier 1 Ghostly Beast Hearts]: [5/5]
[One Tier 2 Ghostly Beast Heart]: [1/1]
[Ten Phantom Crystals]: [10/10]
[Five Nether Crystals]: [5/5]
“Alright! It’s time. Let’s do this.”
She nodded firmly and quickly placed all the materials on a stone table she summoned with her powers. The Skill manifested instantly as a sphere of pure darkness, drawing the materials into a system-guided ritual.
FLUOSH!
Blank, Chalk, Mark, and the others watched in silent awe. Such a sight was far from ordinary.
Once the Skill Sphere had absorbed everything, it began to throb and pulse like a living heart, swelling larger with each beat.
Until finally—
BA-DUM!
BA-DUM!
BA-DUM!
It doubled in size, golden veins threading through its inky black surface. Elayne smiled softly and drew the evolved sphere back into herself, feeling the profound shift within.
[Congratulations, you have successfully evolved the [Ghostly Spirit Consciousness – Tier 1: Level 10/10] Skill into [Ghostly Nature Spirit Consciousness – Tier 2: Level 10/20]!]
[You can now continue leveling your Skill, which has gained a new affinity with the Element of Nature and the power to absorb and empower itself through Spirit Energy.]
“It’s done. It’s finally done,” Elayne breathed in deep relief.
“Congratulations on evolving your first Skill!” Chalk said with a warm nod. “I hope you can do it with many more, Elayne.”
“Yeah,” Blank agreed. “What did it become? Is it stronger now?”
“That’s what I’m about to find out,” Elayne replied. She sat cross-legged in a lotus position and closed her eyes, sinking into meditation.
Her Aura flared outward as her newly evolved Ghostly Spirit Consciousness expanded.
FLAAASH!
“Woah?!”
“W-What…!”
Chalk and Blank stood speechless as a towering giantess rose from Elayne’s consciousness domain, crafted of shimmering gold and vibrant green spiritual energy.
She possessed long flowing hair woven from leaves, flowers, vines, roots, and branches. Gentle emerald eyes gleamed with quiet wisdom, and her voluptuous, nurturing figure radiated motherly warmth.
“So how is it?” Elayne wondered aloud. “Huh? Ah!”
Her eyes widened. The giantess before her wasn’t exactly the same presence she had encountered before, yet a clear resemblance lingered.
Elayne instinctively tried to alter its appearance, but Blank stopped her gently.
“Please don’t change her appearance,” he said. “Forcing it could harm your psyche. Accept who you are and simply move forward, Elayne. That’s what you always tell us.”
“A-Ah, but…” Elayne hesitated, then softened. She realized just how kindhearted and trustworthy the White Ghost siblings truly were. “…Thank you.”
She examined her evolved ghostly consciousness more closely. With each Tier, it grew more refined, taking on larger, more solid forms that overlapped with her physical body.
But the dramatic change went deeper. Her Consciousness was now merging with her Nature Soul itself, amplifying it to an astonishing degree. Blank remarked that the power he sensed felt closer to Tier 3—or even nearing Tier 4—than a fresh Tier 2.
“You’re still at the beginning,” Chalk explained. “Once you advance far enough, you’ll be able to fully solidify your consciousness. For now, you must infuse it with energy to affect the physical world, but that will change in time.”
“I see!” Elayne nodded, marveling at her own progress. “Alright, shall we continue? I think we can fit in a few more hunts before the day ends. I can feel it—I’m almost Level 100. And most of you are too, right?”
“Yeah, I’m close as well,” Mark confirmed. “Once we reach Level 100, we might unlock our Tier 2 Class advancements and gain a new Skill. We should definitely prioritize that.”
As non-players, they couldn’t simply browse a vast skill tree and choose freely. They had to wait for their next class evolution to receive a new, freely granted Skill.
Sometimes, through relentless effort, they could learn skills the hard way. Most of their current abilities had emerged from such dedication or were innate to their very nature.
Occasionally, mastering a cultivation method would reward a Skill, but such cases were rare and not guaranteed.
Cultivation methods themselves were extraordinary, boosting stats, granting supernatural powers, and offering far more potential. They demanded constant effort and unwavering focus beyond what most people could sustain.
For Elayne, they had been priceless gifts that continued to yield rewards. She often wished she had discovered such knowledge before arriving in this world.
“I’m almost at Level 100 too!” Sailor declared excitedly. “I still can’t believe I’m strong enough to punch those giant monsters in the face and actually kill them. It feels incredible.”
“Me neither…” Norman murmured. “Not long ago, we were all trapped in that dark pit for ten years. If Elayne hadn’t been there for us, we’d all be dead by now.”
“Yes…” Shade whispered. “Elayne… I’ll grow strong…”
“Thank you, everyone,” Elayne said, her smile warm and genuine. “Let’s go.”
While the Undead leveled at astonishing speed, Lisette was progressing quickly as well. He practiced his Colorless Jester Class diligently, conjuring Colorless Walls to shield allies or crush enemies with invisible force, or using Acrobatics to dart around danger with surprising grace.
Though he remained an endearing, pampered little boy, seeing everyone else work so hard inspired him. His level rose steadily alongside the Undead. Blank and Chalk advanced more slowly, yet they marveled at how swiftly weaker beings could grow thanks to the System.
“It’s truly incredible,” Blank remarked. “I can understand why some households fear Undead growing too strong too quickly. The System gives them an enormous advantage.”
“Eh, not just Undead—that young boy over there is growing fast too!” Chalk pointed out. “And his class seems to mesh perfectly with his powers, especially since they’re developing at such a young age. Ours never had that chance.”
“Indeed,” Blank agreed. “Perhaps the Demon King benefits greatly from the System. It may not be our duty, but the new generations who will have to face them.”
“Hahah, you’re sounding awfully fatherly now, Blank. What’s gotten into you?” Chalk teased with a chuckle. “I guess Elayne really changed you, making you act all kind out of nowhere. Where’s my cold, calculating brother? I don’t want him back, but I’m seriously wondering what happened to him…”
“Goodness, I’m the same as always, Chalk. Enough,” Blank sighed, growing slightly frustrated at her teasing. “Anyway, Elayne! Wait for me…”
Chalk crossed her arms and giggled softly. “Heheh… I guess he just needed a woman to help him open up a little, huh?”
Elayne checked her current level: 96/100. Just one major hunt or a series of smaller ones would push her over the edge.
“Hmm, where to go next? I think we’ve cleared most of the surrounding cave systems,” she sighed. “Maybe we won’t make it today…”
“No, this is a massive mountain. There have to be more monsters somewhere…” Mark said, scanning the surroundings intently.
