Chapter 1846: The Watchful Eyes
—–
Hearing Ruler’s words, Harumi swallowed hard. Her vampiric instincts screamed at her to flee, yet her heart strangely calmed in the goddess’s presence. “I… understand.”
Elena, though nervous, stepped forward beside her mother. “We don’t want to fight you, Harumi. But tomorrow… when the war begins in earnest… we’ll all have to face each other.” She truly did not want to fight someone innocent, but after learning from her mother about the Wish that could bring her back, Elena was slowly building the resolve to fight and win this war no matter what. “So let’s fight with honor—a battle between heroic spirits. There’s no need to spill unnecessary blood. Do you agree?”
Harumi offered a faint, bittersweet smile. “Honor… in a Holy War? That’s rare. But fine. I could have told Assassin to kill that werewolf instead, but I didn’t.”
The forest around them pulsed with life. The divine tree towered above like a silent guardian over the battlefield. The gathered spirits began to fade back into the ether, their songs quieting into whispers carried onto the wind. Everything grew much stiller.
Ruler raised her hand. The roots that had bound Berserker loosened, allowing his broken body to crumble into spirit particles. “He will return. His curse will not let him rest. But for now, the war must pause. Some of the Heroic Spirits have yet to be summoned, but… hmm, they will soon arrive.”
Assassin looked to his master. “We should leave, Harumi. The goddess has spoken.” His tone was deeply respectful toward the deity.
Harumi nodded. Her crimson eyes lingered on Elena and Ruler one last time. “Tomorrow, then.”
With that, Harumi transformed into dozens of shadow bats and vanished. Her heroic spirit faded into his ethereal form and followed her in silence.
“Haaa… They’re gone,” Elena exhaled. Her hands trembled slightly as she looked up at her mother. “…Mom. Did I do okay?”
“Yeah!” Ruler smiled. Her divine aura softened into something warm and maternal. “You did more than okay, Elena. You did great! But as a master in this war, you must stand even taller than you did now—especially as the Master of a Ruler-class Heroic Spirit.”
“I just had no idea I would get dragged into all of this just because I summoned you by accident, Mom… but okay,” Elena nodded. “I think we should go…”
“Yes, let’s move before we attract more unwanted attention,” her mother said. She scooped Elena up and transformed into a large hawk-like bird with green feathers, surprising her daughter as they took flight.
“You can turn into animals?!” Elena gasped.
“Ah, yeah. It looks like one of my new abilities—similar to a Druid’s Shapeshifting,” Elayne explained with a chuckle. “Fufu, isn’t it fun?”
“I-I guess so, hah… Woah, we’re too high!” Elena panicked.
“…?”
As they flew far away, Elayne glanced back for a moment. She noticed two sharp eyes watching from afar, belonging to a tall, silent, dark shadow. The silhouette resembled an ordinary-looking man in a black suit and top hat, carrying a long black cane and wearing a monocle.
“Another Heroic Spirit. Was he watching us? He shows no hostility though… maybe he arrived late to the party,” she mused.
“Huh… I just hope they aren’t too eager to kill each other…” Elena sighed.
Her mother smiled warmly. “Don’t worry, dear. I will protect you no matter what.”
Once they left and entered Amaterasu Clan territory, vanishing from the watching heroic spirit’s sight, a butterfly perched on his left shoulder chuckled.
“Fufu, who would’ve thought the eighth servant would be Ruler-class, huh, Foreigner?” she wondered. The gentleman wearing the monocle nodded, smirking lightly.
“It seems this might be the greatest Holy War so far, Master,” he said in a disciplined, noble tone. “Not only was a Ruler summoned, but my class—Foreigner—which shouldn’t usually be permitted, is here. I do wonder how much you’ve tampered with the Holy Grail, madam.”
“Fufu, well, it’s not like I have my hands directly on it. We simply did a little thing…” the butterfly laughed. “Anyway, this will be a war full of irregulars. That girl is even connected to the otherworld—did you know?”
“I could feel it,” Foreigner replied. He suddenly summoned a pitch-black grimoire; its red pages flickered. “Shall we return home, Master?”
“I suppose so. It became rather boring now,” the butterfly sighed. “The Black Grail is still incubating, so it will take time for the other batch to arrive. Ahh, I can’t wait until we get there—things will become so much fun~ But for now, let’s go back home, Foreigner.”
“Very well,” Foreigner nodded. The book released dark, otherworldly energies as giant black tentacles of shadow dragged them through dimensions.
FLASH!

.
The next morning arrived. Elena slowly opened her eyes, half-convinced everything had been a dream.
“Huh?”
But she found herself cuddling someone in bed—and it wasn’t Anna. The breasts were far too large and bouncy to belong to her girlfriend.
“Ah…!”
Her eyes widened. Her face rested against her mother.
“Mom!”
Smiling happily that it wasn’t a dream, Elena hugged her mother tightly while Elayne slowly woke.
“Huh? Ah… D-Did I sleep too long? I was somewhat tired… I guess I used too much energy from the Ley Lines…”
“So that’s why… Mom…” Elena started crying again as Elayne caressed her head.
“Come on, dear, don’t cry…” her mother sighed softly. “A lot has happened. We should talk more. I want to know everything that’s happened with you and everyone else…”
“Ah, right… I guess we should talk, yeah,” Elena nodded, sighing. “I still can’t believe you’re back…”
As Elena and her mother cuddled cozily in bed, the door suddenly burst open.
“Elena! It’s late! Breakfast is already—Eh?”
It was Anna, who found her girlfriend sleeping with a tall, voluptuous woman out of nowhere… and the woman was almost completely naked!
“Anna…” Elena said. “Ahh! W-Wait, this isn’t what you think it is!”
“What?! Who is she?!” Anna fumed, rushing forward—only for Elena’s mother to sit up and pull her into a big hug, her bare breasts pressing against Anna’s face.
“Anna! Dear! I’m so happy to see you again!” she said warmly. “I’m so glad you’re alright and healthy after so long…”
“Ueeehh?!” Anna cried, turning bright red as she pushed away. “W-Who are—Eh?”
“It’s me, dear,” Elayne said, chuckling with a warm smile. “Elayne. Don’t you remember me? Elena’s mother… And well, I’m also a mix of two other beings… but that’s not important.”
“…”
Anna froze completely, mouth wide open as she stared.
And then…
“Anna?”
“Elena?”
Elisa and Monica walked in. They gazed at the half-naked, towering divine beauty with awe, blushing just like Anna.
“W-Who…”
“Who is this?”
Elayne smiled brightly, overflowing with happiness. “Elisa! Monica! It’s me! Mama Elayne! I’m back!”
“…EEEEEEEHHH?!”
At the same time, footsteps approached from behind. A blonde, handsome young man stepped into the room. “Ah, girls, you’re awake—HUH?! W-Wha…?!?”
Matsuo groaned. His eyes rolled back at the sight of the naked divine goddess. Blood poured from his nose as he collapsed unconscious.
