Brand New Life Online: Rise Of The Goddess Of Harvest - Chapter 1869: Avenger

Chapter 1869: Avenger
—–
“Heh… Heheheh… HEHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”
The General of this Endless Army laughed. His laughter echoed across the battlefield as the nukes fell. To the despair and agony of everyone present, they were the real thing.
BOOOMMM!!!
BOOOMMM!!!
BOOOMMM!!!
BOOOMMM!!!
BOOOMMM!!!
BOOOMMM!!!
BOOOMMM!!!
BOOOMMM!!!
BOOOMMM!!!
Gigantic mushroom clouds of atomic fire surged into the sky one after another, obliterating everything in their path. Even with all their strength, no one could survive this onslaught.
This was the power of War, of Destruction, and of human invention.
In a way, it was the ultimate expression of humanity’s “creativity”!
“Hehehe… hahahahaha! So this is what I missed all this time, is it?
Magnificent… absolutely wundervoll.
Look at this power, this brilliance—if only I had unleashed something like this back in the day.
Imagine it. Dropping a few of these beauties on those blasted Amerikans… or the stubborn Briten… or even those smug Russen.
Ach, what a Spektakel it would have been.
Fire in the skies, panic in the streets—a grand opera of chaos, conducted by me.
But nein… fate denied me that stage.
Still…”
He spread his arms wide. A manic grin stretched across his face beneath the black gas mask. His breathing grew heavy and excited.
“…it seems the curtain rises once more.
And this time, I won’t miss my Einsatz.”
He wasn’t speaking to himself or to the mindless soldiers he could summon endlessly. His words were directed at the small figure beside him—a young girl with long blonde hair, red butterfly wings, two small red horns on each side of her head, and crimson eyes that gleamed like waxing moons.
She wore a red-and-black dress with black heels. Her appearance blended vampiric elegance with elven grace, her pointed ears and butterfly wings marking her as something beyond a mere demon.
A powerful bond linked her to this “Heroic Spirit” of the “Corrupted Grail.” She belonged to an ancient race of Dark Faes originating from Germany…
She was his Master.
“Avenger, pipe it down already. You’re boring me with your stupid monologues. And why do you like taking the form of that man so much?”
“Identity? Master, I have none. My face is a mask, a shifting Gestalt shaped by every tyrant who ever scarred the world. The dictators, the warlords, the crimson-handed rulers of ages past—they are my fathers, my Vorfahren, the architects of my existence. Their bloodshed forged me. Their destruction nourished me. And yet… they are also my children.”
He turned back to his young master—the spoiled child of a prestigious family of powerful beings—and smiled with satisfaction. He caressed and ruffled her hair.
“Every cruelty they birthed, every empire they shattered, every scream they silenced—all of it flows back into me. I am them, and they are I. A perfect Kreis, an eternal cycle of power and ruin. Do you see it now, Master? I am the echo of their will… and the shadow of what humanity fears to admit it created.”
Despite his words, his master yawned. She looked at him with clear annoyance.
“So are you done yapping? She’s waiting for me, and I cannot keep wasting my time with these weaklings. So where were Ruler and Assassin anyway?” she asked.
“Your innocence is truly delightful. Worry not,” he replied. “Ruler and Assassin may be strong, but are their masters strong too? I bet they are not. Now look—the destruction brought to you by the absolute evil of humanity!”
Avenger laughed again and spread his arms wide. The smoke slowly cleared, revealing an atomic wasteland. Ashes and dust were all that remained of the flattened land. The corpses of the children… likely turned to dust by now.
“Hmm, I cannot really feel anything,” his master said, nodding and sighing. “I guess this is it? Well, we got something good out of this as well.” She laughed while holding the compressed sphere that contained the Mangaka. “What a peculiar magic lifeform you are. I will have lots of fun with you~”
As she began to walk away with Avenger…
Suddenly, the ground beneath them trembled—faintly at first, then more noticeably.
RUMBLE!
A gigantic tree erupted from underground. Its branches spread high into the red sky and across the infernal, atomic wasteland.
Roots extended through the dead land, injecting life. Nature began to grow anew. The crimson skies gradually turned blue.
To the shock of Avenger and his Master…
Their targets had not died.
Inside this massive tree, everyone stood safe, gasping for air and staring down in disbelief at Elena—the source of this power.
And at the woman beside her, who had been forced to reveal herself due to the dire circumstances.
“What a deplorable being you are,” Ruler declared. Her voice and authority made the entire realm tremble. “A monster born from the worst parts of humanity—you are what I fight against. You are an error, Avenger! You are not supposed to exist in this Holy War!”
“Oh?” Avenger turned back. His red eyes gleamed. “Ruler, right? It seems you are strong enough to resist twelve nuclear warheads dropped right into your face. Isn’t that cheating?”
“Hm, it’s definitely cheating,” his master agreed, crossing her arms.
“Who the hell are you anyway?!” Elena demanded angrily, standing protectively beside her mother. “We were just dealing with one thing and then another dropped right in front of us. Can’t we take a break?”
“Huhuh… in a Holy War, there is no such thing as taking breaks, young lady.”
Avenger raised his index finger. The air trembled as his endless military host materialized once more—rank after rank of spectral soldiers marching toward the colossal tree.
“This is the ultimate form of human conflict… the wahre Prüfung, the true test.”
His eyes shone with manic delight as the ground shook beneath the synchronized march.
“Here, humanity pits its legacy against itself. Here, the past rises from the grave—heroes and Schurken alike—all summoned to clash in a grand contest of supremacy.”
He spread his arms wide, as if embracing the unfolding chaos.
“Every legend sharpened into a weapon… every ambition forged into a blade… all for a single, wondrous prize.”
The soldiers roared in unison, their voices thundering across the wasteland.
“A Wish!
A Wunsch, capable of reshaping the world itself.”
He turned to Elena with an unsettlingly warm smile.
“So tell me, Mädchen… in a war like this, who could ever afford to rest?”
Elena clenched her teeth as she watched the endless army advance. She stepped back in disbelief.
What now? They had survived, but what now?
“Don’t worry.”
Her mother placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. Her eyes glowed brilliantly.
“I am here… No, rather, we are here.”
Her Divine Domain expanded endlessly, revealing a breathtaking world of lush greenery, ancient forests, towering mountains, flowing rivers, and serene lakes.
From within it, thousands of Spiritual Beings rose—Earth Titans, Yggdrasil Treants, Dryad Harpies, Giant Mythical Beasts, and even, among them, the gigantic children of Gaia: Titans with hundreds of arms and massive weapons, all charging forward to defend her and Nature itself.
