- Chapter 476 - 476: Beyond the Veil of Storm Clouds

“Yes, while a corridor is established, the barrier between the two continents is as strong as ever… but with this, I think we can send in the kid there earlier than we thought…”
As this peculiar old man said, gazing across the vast ocean covering the entirety of the Eastern Continent, his eyes set on a certain direction, the other old man nods, looking across the continent, with his eyes, tinged with the mark of a true Celestial-level being, pierces through the space and arrives at the person who he thought is the greatest talent of their world right now.
“I’ll return home in a while to inform him about it…” the other old man, Hua Xingtian, said, his gaze being torn away from the Eastern Continent heading towards the same direction as his old friend’s eyes, the two of them seemingly seeing something beyond the torrential storm that spans across the entire ocean.
“I think he’s already in quite the comfortable place, even though I don’t have any idea where he can travel and disappear to in the next moments…” the peculiar old man said, his body standing straight and unmoving, keeping his eyes trained on the ocean, but his gaze looking far beyond.
“That’s really interesting, old friend, that even Lucius of the Eternal Eyes is incapable of seeing through the fate of a mere Nascent Source Realm boy like him…” Hua Xingtian taunted, causing the peculiar old man to click his tongue before he retorted in annoyance.
“You know damn well there’s nothing mere about him despite his cultivation level only reaching the Nascent Source Realm for now,” this peculiar old man, whom Hua Xingtian called Lucius, replies as he shakes his head, a smile on his old face, almost as if he just treats this as a jest from a friend.
“I know, why do you think I allow him to reach that kind of relationship with my descendant then?” smiling proudly as if he knows that bragging about this on this friend of his is a definite win for him, Hua Xingtian said, making the old Lucius speechless, shaking his head after a while as he doesn’t intend to get reminded by this old person in front of him that he had already grown this old all alone, without any woman’s company.
Although this is a bitter regret for himself, he thought that it was not the time to be concerned with something like this, driving their conversation back to their plans as he asks about one of the four pillars of the Heavenly Secret Tower.
“When should we send him there?”
“There’s still some time, he can enjoy his life in the Eastern Continent for a while… come to think of it, won’t you give him some pointers and reminders to make his life on the other side easier? You’re from that place after all.”
“Nah, let him figure out everything by himself. At most, I can teach him the language, but everything else, he should worry about himself.”
Discussing about the future they intended the young man to experience, an experience that will greatly temper not only his strength but quite possibly his character as well, the two old men continues to talk for a good, long while before they stopped, each of them heading towards a different direction, with the old Lucius heading closer towards the storm as if wanting to check something out, while Hua Xingtian’s figure forms a streak of bright, white light that heads directly towards the Heavenly Secret Tower’s main base not too far away from this place.
———-
Out in the vastness of the Sky Soul Star’s Eastern Continent, multitudes of powerful, mystical beings roam around freely and proudly, some of them possessing mysterious abilities that will take the life of anyone trying to fight against them unprepared.
Within this place, in a flatland somewhere, down below this place, one can see a vast farm of food being taken care of mortal peoples, the golden grain of rice something that makes even the strongest of cultivators feel quite piqued by the sight, something about each golden grain on each stalk of rice swaying as warm wind blows makes it look all the more magical, as if a sea of liquid gold dancing in sync with the air above it.
“I told you, he wasn’t all too bad a man to be friends with, right?” and right above these rice paddies, two beings of humanoid shape are currently flying at such a speed that will make anyone observing below wonder whether a thing truly just flew past them in such speed or they were just outright hallucinating.
“Mn, he’s really… quite interesting…” Hearing the words from the older lady flying beside herself, this younger lady replies with a pout on her face, making her look adorable to the older lady’s eyes instead.
“That doesn’t mean he’s good though, don’t you see auntie, that guy is pretty much all too flirty with Hong Lian and the rest…” the younger lady pointed out as she recalls the face of these new acquaintances, or rather, friends that she had made during this short visit on this talent that her aunt, the duchess of their kingdom, is interested in.
“Makes me wonder all the more what it is that made all those monsters gather around him and behave how they behave…” the older lady replied with a smile on her face as she looked into the frustrated face of the younger lady beside her.
“Whatever, auntie, it’s not like I can change your mind about anything…” the younger lady sighed, her words prompting a smile from the older lady as the two of them continued to pierce through the clouds like arrows in the sky, their eyes roaming beneath as they took in what is usually an exhilarating or calming view.
“It’s good that you understand, he’s about to show himself more often in the palace after a couple of years after all~~~” the older lady, a duchess, said with a confident smile on her face, moving one of her fair hands to pat the younger lady, her niece’s head as the two of them continues to travel across the Eastern Continent, all so the younger lady can broaden her experience on living outside the comfort and protection of the force and family that supported her since young.
This sort of scene, which is usually rare within the Eastern Continent, is happening all around right now, something quite improbable given the limited number of Half-step Celestial Realm masters within the continent, not to mention this massive amount of experts standing as guards or guides of the young people traveling with them.
Of course, it wasn’t something that causes all too much of a panic in the mundane world, given that these Half-step Celestials already took the initiative to hide and disguise themselves with strength that is more acceptable to the people of this backwater world.
In fact, it is only the unquestionable might of the duchess that made all of them behave like meek little lambs, and had it not been for the fact that this extremely high-ranking authority of both politics and cultivation is keeping them in check, making sure they dare not commit something against the world they are all currently in, and if said lady’s presence disappear from this place, then some, if not most of this saint-like behavior will immediately turn into a crass one whose care is only for their own selves.
And speaking of the other geniuses, even the other outsiders are already talking about this extremely powerful genius that dominates the Dao Enlightenment Competition, even showing strength that allows him to carry those around him all the way to the top, postponing this now postponed competition.
What piques the interest of the smarter people among the bunch the most is the fact that the moment that they had felt a threat that is possible even stronger than themselves, the topic of the conversation in everyone’s mouth had just finished the second trial of the competition, making some wonder whether it is him that met with those two extremely strong warrior, and if hat truly was the case, what is it that made the two of them approach the young man with such malice.
Of course, most, if not all of it, was merely something that is made in the imaginative mind of those people, a mere speculation that is a result of something so coincidental that one can only consider it either good or bad luck.
Hence also the reason why Su Xiaotian, despite his popularity reaching an all-time-high during the Dao Enlightenment Competition, doesn’t really receive all that much invitation from the forces outside of the Sky Soul Star, as most of those people merely thinks of the fact that bringing someone with as large a potential as this man within their own folds is definitely some sort of unlucky curse that will bring about quite possibly the demise of their own force.
