Cheat Cultivator's Ascension - Chapter 520 - 520: Progress

“You’ve grown far stronger than you were one month before…” sitting in front of Liliana with a table of sweet delicacies and tea between the two of them, Su Xiaotian mentioned, prompting a harrumph from the lady as she moved her gaze to the side before she said in an aggrieved tone.
“All thanks to a certain someone” she said with her gaze still avoiding his, taking small, short peeks every now and then, feeling a bit relieved that the young man in front of her enjoys himself with the delicacies that she had personally made.
While it might be surprising that the two of them are conversing peacefully, in the vampiric lady’s place no less, it is due to the fact that it has been a month since Su Xiaotian came into contact with the Western Continent, allowing him to get closer to this lady, which he finds all the more amusing the more time he spends with her.
During this short, yet also long month, he had learned quite a lot regarding how everything works in this place, most of them knowledge from this lady, Liliana’s experience, while some of them being his own experience, having the chance to go out once every week to accompany this lady who is right now, the person he is currently a subordinate of.
The West, different from his homeland, is home to a myriad of races, unlike the Eastern Continent with humanity being its solitary ruler, this diversity allowing its people to feel pretty open with bearing witness to all sorts of beings of all sorts of shapes and forms appearing, the interspecies connection giving rise to all sorts of absurd mutations, both advancements and abominations.
Of course, while the fact that there are tens of thousands of races that exist within the Western Continent, there are the prominent ones that everyone knows about, races so powerful and influential that no one in this continent won’t know of them, each of their names etched in a passage known to almost any native of the West.
The endless green forest of the far west holds the land of the elves, just northwards of their domain, the cold north houses the land of the vampires, the south, an arid, brutal domain that the demon race love, and the east, the land of towering mountains piercing the skies, land to those whose blood flows with the might of the dragons.
And right in the middle of all of this stands an area unoccupied by any single one of these powerful races, a domain of unification where the remaining races are, the influence of each hegemon from each cardinal direction also prominent, but not dominant, on this sacred, inviolable neutral ground.
Right now, Su Xiaotian is located in this earldom owned by the Sanguinis Family, or rather, by its remaining survivor, Liliana, a place bordering both the great forest and the sacred central domain, meaning more often than not, trouble often occurs, trouble that often gives this lady a good dosage of headache before.
It was, as mentioned, all in the past, though, as with the arrival of this young man in front of her, the precarious balance maintained with those lands neighboring hers, starts to collapse, his methods, the things he had shown her during this past month, proving to her time and time again that the immortal-like air around him isn’t something just for show, but more than likely something that naturally exist through himself.
“So, what’s with these Great Ones those enforcers are talking about?” that very same immortal-like air of grandeur continues to leak out of the young man’s body even when he is just enjoying the foods she prepared for him, his question, while his voice calm, carries a weight that made her feel the urge to answer him as fast, as informative and as concise as she can.
In fact, Su Xiaotian himself can easily find out about these matters if he expands his senses or directly uses his soul power to get the answer he wants from the enforcers’ head. The problem with this method is that it might be too crude, which wouldn’t be a problem in any other situation except for this one, and the reason?
Of course, the only reason as to why this young man, whose prowess already reaches that of the peak of the mortal levels, is wary, are celestial-level threats, but even for those, he has multiple ways to deal with them, that he wouldn’t hesitate to show his power if it’s only these people that he needs to be concerned about.
No, not them, what he is most wary of right now is the one that his own self from the previous timeline, he who stands at the very peak of existence, warns him about, one of the supreme ones who pushes themselves to the extremes, one of the people who shares the title of the peak before his own prowess pushes past, and way beyond theirs.
‘Sure would’ve been helpful if someone at least tell me what sort of appearance this vessel of divine being has…’ he mutters to himself with a wry smile on his face as he awaits the answer of the lady in front of him, her gorgeous face locked in a contemplating look almost as if she’s trying to compile the information in her head into a proper one that he can use.
“They are… well, part of the high society, geniuses of the high society at that…” she pauses for a while before revealing an odd expression on her face, the thought of the word genius being used on those people making her feel like they are undeserving, especially when she has this monster of a talent sitting just a table away in front of her.
“Geniuses, huh…” he smiles with interest as he catches the reason for her sudden pause, a wry smile appearing on her face as she gathers the thoughts in her mind once more before she continues to speak.
“…I thought they were just a symbolic ruler of our generation but based from the words of my friends in the capital, they appear to be more than just that…” she paused for a while as she somehow felt quite parched after observing the charming figure in front of her, prompting her to reach out for the teacup in front of her, taking a small sip before taking her time to stare at Su Xiaotian’s face once again, waiting for his words.
“Seeing that they can even mobilize those enforcers, I see no reason to deny the claims of those friends of yours” he replied as he stopped enjoying the pastries in front of him, taking his time to enjoy the tea before staring at the open window beside them, the wind blowing towards them rustling his tied, long jet-black hair, his eyes staring at the distance seemingly looking beyond the surface of the world.
“It’s only a matter of time before you come in contact with them since they already took notice of you, what’s your next move?” curious at what this young man is thinking about, the vampire, Liliana, asked, a glint of fascination in her eyes as she awaits for his answer, an answer she knew will be interesting seeing that mischievous smile on his mesmerizing face.
