Cheat Cultivator's Ascension - Chapter 522 - 522: Sharpness of One's Sword

“W-what do you mean?” looking at the smile on the young man’s face, Liliana couldn’t help but ask, wondering why it was that he, who had only known her for a little bit over a month, held such confidence in her ability against those Great Ones, even more than herself.
“It’s true that I have yet to meet these so-called Great Ones that you’re worried about, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have an idea of how strong they are…” he paused for a while as he returns his attention to the pastries in front of him, merely taking a look for a moment before his gaze lands on the lady’s face again as he continues his words.
“…well, at least based on the information I’ve gathered in this entire month, they are surely strong, for the standard of a normal person, that is…” a powerful aura surged out of the young man’s body, the air, the ground, everything around him trembles under the overwhelming show of his might, yet oddly enough, compared to the first time the vampire lady, Liliana, felt this absurd strength, the immense weight bearing down on her and her surrounding doesn’t bother her all too much.
“This is…” surprised at what her body is enduring right now, her mind couldn’t help but pause from working, unable to form any coherent thoughts for a while, the only thing snapping her out of this daze was the warm voice of the young man in front of her.
“It’s been a month since you abandoned mana, Liliana, right now, you’re wielding something more unruly, but also more powerful than that, always keep that in your mind…” after telling the vampire lady those words, the immortal-like young man then waves his hand, the weight pressing down on their surrounding disappearing as the shaking and trembling stop, almost as if such event never happened at all, the smile, the warm expression on his face completely different from the proud, commanding look he previously has.
As those words he said also landed in his ears, Su Xiaotian couldn’t help but get reminded of the time he spent here, a whole month not returning to the comfort of his home, all due to the fact that he had to be wary of whoever divine-level being it was that was lurking somewhere within this Western Continent.
Well, it wasn’t all too bad, as one might expect, given that he can still spend time with the ladies at home via the Infinite Qi System’s dimension, which, along with the other sub-systems, wasn’t restricted at all, unlike the main system.
Of course, there was struggle at first, a small one on his side, and a larger one on the other side, particularly the older ladies who are used to sleeping with him every now and then, his absence, causing them to feel lethargic and off for a while as they try their best to adapt to the sudden change of their man not being able to spend the nights with them in their home.
It wasn’t all that bad that comes out of the restriction though as through this incident, the true owner of the Universal Shop System, Su Xiaotian, also realized that this sort of hibernating status of the main system just means that his own self from the previous timeline might be able to rest and gather more energy for himself once the moment he truly needs to appear arrives.
All these, solving the problems the ladies at home are facing, along with the realization, happen as he fulfills his end of the deal with the vampiric lady in front of him, and the deal?
A couple of weeks ago, in a familiar estate, a lady with long, ashen gray hair and a crimson ruby for a pupil stares up, while lying flat on the ground, her bountiful chest heaving up and down as she gasps for air, more than she ever should, her smooth skin glistening from sweat coming out of her every pore.
As she attempts to regain some semblance of her composed self, anyone witnessing this moment can clearly see her face flushed in a mixture of tiredness and embarrassment, all while looking at the young man standing just a few meters away from her, the way he carries himself just standing there always making her wonder if he can even get tired.
“That’s it for today, you’re gradually getting the grasp of controlling the spirit qi in your body, so we can start increasing the intensity of your training soon…” staring at the lady drained of any strength, lying on the ground pathetically like she’s not a noble to boot, Su Xiaotian said as he waves his hand, surge of wood elemental qi spreading from his location to the lady, making her feel energized the moment it touches her skin.
“A-as if that wasn’t intense enough…” she replied in between wheezing as she slouches a bit, a posture she still chose to take despite being unbecoming of a noble, especially a lady like her, all due to the fact that the tiredness engulfing her entire body just stops her from standing every time she tries.
“That wasn’t even as harsh as my mother and grandmother in my training when I was young…” he retorted, smiling as he recalls those days in the most obscure location in the Extreme Martial Sect, while in the middle of the enemy’s territory, still peaceful as he learns from two of the most important people in his life.
“You’re a monster, your standard doesn’t count…” she said, still wheezing as she tries her best to walk, her legs trembling along with her arms, making her feel like she will collapse on the ground at any moment.
That wasn’t before she felt a sturdy support on her side, a pillar that gives her something to lean on as she walks forward, towards her own room, her consciousness barely holding on causing her not to realize the fact that this pillar supporting her right now is the very same young man that just caused her to be drained of all her strength like that.
And so, these two, connected initially by nothing but a mere transaction of information, continues their day in that estate for a month, allowing them to gradually get to know each other more and more, the immortal, learning the lady’s tragic past, and the vampire, learning the young man’s determination, his aspiration and his reasons why he intends to go so far.
“You’ve grown strong, far stronger than ever before, Liliana” turns out, it wasn’t only Su Xiaotian that is recalling everything that happened during this past month, as his voice, already out of the trip down the memory lane, snaps Liliana’s voice out of her reverie, his words prompting a nod of agreement out of her, one with neither a trace of hesitation nor doubt, only pure trust built upon the things he had shown her, things he had taught her during the time they spent together.
“It’s about time… this is the perfect opportunity, my lady, in this stage I prepared for you, reveal yourself to the world, show the sword you have been sharpening in the dark for the longest of time.”
