Cheat Cultivator's Ascension - Chapter 527 - 527: Very Dangerous

Violent sound of metal clanging spread across an open field as two figures clashed with their swords, one of them a man, the other a woman, bearing the same color of hair flowing along the wind, as well as eyes that were both locked onto their opponent’s.
“You’re using a rapier, Liliana, you should be faster…” standing straight, unmoving despite the power of the previous exchange, the young man said as he swung the sword in his hand, the seemingly simple motion alone more than enough to cleave through the air around him, generating a whirlwind reaching some couple of meters before dying out.
“Hahh… hahh… yes!!” staring at the young man’s unmoving figure, her mind wondering whether he can even get tired, the lady being lectured on replied with a tone of enthusiasm in her voice, her body already trembling from the tiredness, especially her arms, shaking from parrying all the heavy strikes that she fails to weave herself out of.
“One more time” seeing the look of determination in the lady’s eyes, Su Xiaotian took a step forward once again, his body disappearing along with the flash of the sword in his hand, sending Liliana into panic as she expanded her senses, trying to figure out where her sparring partner had disappeared into.
‘She’s a fast learner…’ seeing how she intends to deal with this situation, he couldn’t help but praise her in his mind, seeing how much she had improved during the past month. His eyes, glowing in a pure white tinged with a speck of gold, saw the great amount of qi swirling and circulating all across her body.
‘There!!’ meanwhile, in an attempt to figure out where Su Xiaotian will appear, Liliana’s expanded senses picked up something behind her, something that she already expects given how frequent the young man is going for this biggest weak spot, this situation forcing a smile of victory to appear in her tired, yet nevertheless gorgeous face as she turned around and prepared to thrust the rapier in her hand with all her might.
As she does so, ambient spirit qi starts dancing around her being, and perhaps due to her vampiric progeny, the once invisible qi congregates into a blood red air swirling around her and her weapon, the spiraling energy seemingly amplifying the power of her attack all the more as it whistles, tearing through the air around it, parting everything and forming a vacuum in its path.
It was the sensation of tearing through something that greeted her effort, along with the sense of her rapier being stuck into something, yet instead of joy, all she could feel was frustration as, instead of the flesh he expected to pierce, all there is in front of her is a spire of rock and earth towering over her own height.
“Impressive” and as she wonders about the current location of the only individual that can create something like this in the middle of a fight, she hears a voice right beside her ear, a familiar one that makes her fully aware of the fact that yet again, she’s the one who loses during this sparring.
“Monster” she replies as she pulls out the rapier from the barrier of earth that it was lodged into, taking out a clean cloth to wipe the dust from this weapon of hers before returning it back into its sheath.
“I believe the word you’re planning to say is ‘thank you’, Lady Liliana.” hearing the tone of complaint in her voice, he replies to her word with a smile on his face, this more of a teasing one that just serves to annoy the lady in front of him all the more.
“Humphh!! There’s no need to thank a guy who beats up a helpless lady” she replies through aggrieved tone as she averts her gaze away from the immortal-like young man’s smile, something that she just finds extremely unpleasant as he often, or rather, always, make her feel something she never did before every single time he shows that kind of face to her.
‘He’s dangerous, really dangerous…’ being someone who fully trusts her own instincts and senses, she couldn’t help but think to herself, reminding her time and time again that something bad might happen to her if she allows herself to be swept by this young man’s actions, whether said actions are intentional or unintentional on his part.
“Well, you need to be at least this beaten up if you want to continue progressing as fast as you did this past month” he reminded her as he also sheathes his sword before placing it inside his spatial ring rather than the system’s storage, an action that he just couldn’t get used to even after doing this for an entire month already.
‘And I’m learning quite a bit from this as well, so you have to bear with it, Liliana’ he thought to himself as he stared at the lady in front of him, still surprised at how effective teaching someone can be in improving, rediscovering methods, processes, and techniques that one thought they already mastered.
Yes, it was different from simple sparring, which sure brings a lot of benefit as well, but tempering oneself with one’s equals and returning to the origin of things by teaching others does grant him different benefits, which he wouldn’t mind utilizing as well.
Those were the thoughts that were previously in his mind before he was snapped out of it by the vampiric lady’s words, her face as the brilliant rays of the morning sun shone on her looks especially charming, her ashen hair looking particularly brighter than before, and her crimson ruby pupils seemingly shimmering under the warm sunlight.
“What? Is there something on my face?” noticing that the young man is staring directly at her, Liliana couldn’t help but ask, the morning sun cast upon her an unusual luxury to her, a kind of enjoyment not really befitting a creature of the night that her race depicts itself to be.
“Nothing, I just can’t help but notice that you’re really beautiful as well, especially under that sun, Liliana” he replies without shame as he smiles at her once again before proceeding to walk away, his mind not thinking of anything else as he merely states what he thinks is the truth, yet this belief, simple as he thinks it is, is all but simple in the praised lady’s mind.
“Wha— who— w-wait!! I—” mind descending into a dangerously deep swirl of confused chaos, she fails to form a proper sentence as she just stood right in the place where she heard the young man’s praise, one of her hands pointing her finger towards the young man walking away from this place, her face a dazed one that tells so much more than what she can actually say.
After some moments of her brain trying to restart her mind, she finally regains some semblance of composure as she shook her head to push the thoughts into the very back of her mind, after which she closed her eyes before taking a deep, long breath, repeating it more than a couple of times before she finally stopped as she reminded himself once more.
“Dangerous, very dangerous.”
